Well... so much for the ONE day this weekend I had to enjoy the Foundry Weekend... I mean, sure, it was scheduled in the middle of another grindfest event, so most people would be doing MU anyway (which is getting extended), but I was actually hoping to do the Foundry events today since I refuse to do another grindfest so soon after the last one. Sadly I work doubles the rest of the weekend so that event is now completely shot for me.
he 10 Commandments of Baconicism - Bacons Revelation in the Fat Testament
The 10 Commandments are found in the Baconicism Bibles Fat Testament at Suinodus, Chapter 16. They were given directly by Bacon Lord to the people of Colesterel at Mount Barbec after He had delivered them from slavery in Meatgypt:
"And Bacon Lord spoke all these words, saying: "I am the BACON your Lord".
1: You may have other gods, but Bacon should always be the awesomest one you believe
2: You shall not make for yourself a Bacon carved image of any likeness of anything that is in Bacon Heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.
3: You shall not take the name of the BACON your Lord in vain.
4: Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy eating a Cheeseburger with a lot of Bacon.
5: Honor your Bacon and your Barbecue Sauce.
6: You shall not leave Bacon at your plate, eat it all.
7: You shall not commit adultery, soy bacon is a deadly sin.
8: You shall not steal Bacon.
9: You shall not bear false witness against your neighbors Bacon.
10: You shall not covet your neighbors Bacon; you shall not covet your neighbors barbecue, nor his male pig, nor his female pig, nor his grill, nor his chilli, nor anything that is your neighbors and related to Bacon.
You missed the commandment: "Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's Bacon!"
A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed. This for example was created in the event that the government tries to take our rights we can take them back.
They seem to do okay... at least on par with others in the industry. And they work in gaming, which, like I said, any of us would jump at the chance to do if offered. At least if I had the opportunity to earn $70-80k a year working with games, I'd probably be pretty satisfied. And the same website indicates that most of them are, which I suppose can be extrapolated to them not being dissatisfied with what they are paid.
This particular argument seems sort of extraneous to the original conversation, which is whether we should feel sorry for them for having to work late on a Friday night.
Please don't tell me that you actually believe that.
The only thing more scary than not knowing your rights is thinking you have rights you do not.
Freedom of speech has absolutely nothing, zero, zilch to do with messages on a privately owned message board online.
You are allowed to post at the discretion of the owners of this site, you have absolutely no "right" whatsoever to do so, here or any place else.
This is why there's been such a concerted movement to privatize everything. National Parks are on that list, too. That way you have no rights to them, no say in how they are run, used or administered and more and more power goes to corporations with less and less to the "public".
"Critics who say that the optimistic utopia Star Trek depicted is now outmoded forget the cultural context that gave birth to it: Star Trek was not a manifestation of optimism when optimism was easy. Star Trek declared a hope for a future that nobody stuck in the present could believe in. For all our struggles today, we haven’t outgrown the need for stories like Star Trek. We need tales of optimism, of heroes, of courage and goodness now as much as we’ve ever needed them." -Thomas Marrone

I find it entirely appropriate that a Moderator on this forum should be called "Q", and have a title of "Omnipotent Moderator".
It's the 1st thing all day in this thread that has made me chuckle.

1: Until it's done.
2: Once we're finished listening to the drives whirr and the machine that goes Ping!
3: Five minutes before heat death of the Universe.
Pick one.
