personally, im just so glad babylon 5 didnt have to get lumbered with the assinine level of writing ds9 was loaded with.
babylon 5 got this http://youtu.be/uvmtHGwRSuQ?t=30s
shallowspace 9 got kira's sickeningly cloy, ridiculously idealised birth scene, and some pretentious self aggrandising of 20th century christian values leveled at the ferengi view of marriage from the so called diverse feds.
babylon 5 got a leader that broke away from a corrupt regime because it was right for somone who believed in freedom from oppression to do so, ds9 got a leader that final solutioned a marquis colony, by poisoning a planet to human life, because they where an annoyance to the leadership.
B5 also had the Vorlons and their quest to, not subjugate, but to erase the ideology of their enemy from existence. In other words, they wanted to destroy the IDEA of Chaos....
I think it would be awesome if we could get rep system science consoles that would be specific to science skills. We could choose one that works for GW for example, if you use GW, it will increase your shield regain as long as it is active, or will disrupt enemy sensors within a certain range of you.
Or, maybe a universal console that will have an activated ability that add a temporary Bio-Molecular effect to all energy weapons.

He must be wearing them. Babylon 5 was decent in the way it worked up to the Shadow War, with little tidbits dropped here and there.
But compared to Deep Space Nine, Babylon 5 was hampered by stilted, s**ty acting and outdated CGI.

babylon 5 was okay, but your making it out to be more then it was. i personally could not get into it no matter what people show me to excite me, but i dont have a problem with the show.
i do however have a problem with the idea that Babylon 5 is better then DS9. deep space 9 was the last star trek show i was introduced to, although it was the first one i completely watched episode to episode. (i started with voyager incase anyone is wondering). the thing i thought was cool about DS9 was the characters. they felt alot more real then some of the other shows. after completely watching DS9, compared to TNG, i'd say that i could pretty easily guess what any DS9 character would do in any number of situations. whereas TNG had several times where they seemed to contradict what a character would do.
take riker, who generally acts very interested in all women he meets regardless of race or status. however in one episode where he's on trial, he acts completely uninterested in a woman who's clearly making advances towards him. yes, what we see is a holo recreation riker himself made, but does that mean he lied in the recording to make himself look a bit more innocent? also not really in character with riker.
on the other hand, the characters in DS9 are very well built. even side characters like Rom could be connected with, and held their character through the whole show. character development actually stuck. so in one episode where rom gets a backbone and stands up to quark, he keeps that backbone for the rest of the show, and doesnt instantly go back to stupid younger brother the next episode. character development is one of the things in DS9 i liked the most.
as far as the comment about sisko basically bombing a maquis base.... that was one of the things i actually liked most about the guy. take the episode "in the pale moonlight" where sisko has to wrestle with his conscious. it shows that sisko will do what ever it takes to do what needs to be done, even if it crosses the line. in that episode, he encounters alot of obstacles on his way to a goal, and like any human, wants to give up when things get tough, but he finds motivation again and powers through the discomfort. and because of that, starfleet would have a chance to win the war, and at a price that was acceptable to save lives. in the maquis episode you mentioned, you can see the same sort of decision being made but without being explained to the audience. its obvious he's weighing his options in the mess hall, and makes the same decision to get his goal. whether it was right, or wrong is not the point. the point of the matter is that he's not a saint that starfleet has grown in one of it's fantastic schools to turn normal humans into super morally evolved captains. he's a normal human, who has worked hard to get to captain, and with that rank, comes hard choices that he must make, and the consequences are his to deal with.
this is why DS9 is my favorite. it does the job of star trek better then most of the shows
suppose a nudge the thread back on the rails is needed :P.
been thinking what else there could be added, the 8472 mechanic was changed so something else would be needed, maybe a space set that creates these fludic rifts (gw with a different look and name but a lot stronger) at the last stage with all the bits? increased accuracy for beam boats and its whole setup is aggressive towards weapons power? this is a dangerous enemy that has weapons that a very powerful, very strong per hit which is why im thinking along that line.
T6 Miranda Hero Ship FTW. Been around since Dec 2010 on STO and bought LTS in Apr 2013 for STO.
I wonder how the official name of this reputation will be.
I mean the Borg rep is Omega Foce, Tholian Rep is Task Force Nukara etc.
The last rep was the Dyson Reputation... but we are still on the Solanae Dyson Sphere. Wouldn't fighting the Undine also fall under the jurisdiction of the Dyson Task Force?

If you go onto tribble and do the first mission of the Dyson Sphere introduction, you'll see the name of the rep if you don't close the window immediately.
Well, I for one would love to have organic components on my starship. It's hardly something not done in Star Trek either. Voyager had bio-mnemetic gel packs in it's eps systems.
As for ground and space weapons? Base them off the stuff Janeway developed with the Borg. Have, say a ground rifle that has a secondary "nanite virus" effect that does added damage to Undine. It was mentioned earlier in this thread about a torpedo that detonates a cloud of nanites, that sounds a great idea.
The ground armour needs to be resistant to psionic attacks and potentially melee, since if memory serve the Undine like to swipe at you if you get close enough to them?
Either way, I'm really looking forward to this Rep System. The Dyson rep was really easy to get through and I hope that attribute remains here.
we technically already have a anti undine weapon in the game that one bio torpedo from that one romulan mission which i forgot the name of >_<
Is there any chance that this new Rep might be based on the race we met during the Udine arc? Not the Udine themselves, but that other race, the ones that actually helped you?
If memory serves the mission ended with saying that there would be further communications and diplomatic attempts in working with them.
As natives of Fluid space, who have survived this long with the Udine after them, there could be something there to work with isn't there?
"Why all the sales"?
And a merry freaking Christmas to you too, Ebenezer.

I would like an upgreade to console slots like enchant to ship to unlock one more console slot sci or eng sci preffered "im runnig out of room coz of all those universal consoles" ,set with active hull heal skill or passive auto cleanse.
Maybe active hull heal skill maybe new hangar pets or some new plasma torpedos.
Maybe some sci shield consoles with hull resistance or health there is sooo many options.

The only race we met in the Undine arc were the Undine, so it's about them. Plus we already have a Borg Rep, and a Romulan Rep, those are the only other races who were enemies in that arc.
SORRY TO BURST Y'ALLS BUBBLES BUT ORGANIC SHIPS ALREADY EXIST IN-GAME.
Breen Ships anyone? If you wanted to complain about organic technology being used by players than your about 2 years too late.
Breen use organic technology, but that doesn't mean their ships are organic ships. Voyager uses organic technology with their Bio-neural Gel Packs, but we don't consider it to be a organic ship. An organic ship is a ship that is grown rather than built.

With all this talk of organic ships I haven't heard any mention yet of the Taelons. :P

A Taelon ship would be cool and unlike other ships, it has the Gene Roddenberry connection. Speaking of that Gene Roddenberry connection, a Glorious Heritage class ship would be cool too. Although, my favorite organic ships has to be Shadow ships, Vorlon ships, Moya, and Talyn. Not including the Species 8472 ships because they are a ripoff of Vorlon ships.
(FYI: My favourite colour is Yellow, my favourite weapon is probably the Anti-proton, but I preferred it before it got revamped, so when that happened, I stopped using them.)
Hopefully I'll come back from my break; this break is fun; I play intellectual games.
What will the Undine antiproton be meaning, will it be antiproton with a plasma proc, will deal direct hull damage? I for one think some sort of plasma style proc, can't wait to get myself some yellow antiprotons, please say the cannons will be yellow balls of destruction.

This is correct. Breen ships are not organic, for god sake. They use organic tech, but the ships are mostly non organic.
For people to have a image in the head, an organic ship, like undines will be to have a ship with a door that is not a door, just a part of the ship that appears and acts like a door. That is an organic ship. That is an undine ship. Nothing similar to any other ship we have already in the game.
U guys remember the Vorlon ships from B5? something like that. There is a BIG difference between an organic ship and a non-organic ship. Very BIG.

Best Organic ship would be Lex! He eats planets and comes with love slave and Stanley Tweedle and your own undead assassins, room full of brains !
I know MMO end games are generally, usually, all about grind, grind, grind, but this is becoming a bit ridiculous. It's already too much to do as it is. What do I expect? More grind for no reason.

Seriously, all MMOs are grinds. That is how they keep players.
This sadly. Until we finally get content that is automatically customized to our likes and balanced towards other characters, then we will have to do the same content because it takes at least weeks to create a decent mission and about an hour to play through it. I would even like decent automatically generated missions, but we all know how well that worked out for STO. Click on 5 relics from the 3rd Dynasty of the Borg.

I still think they shouldn't have given up on Genesis. It just needed to be better curated. Someone needed to have a full time job developing new objectives, setting which aliens worked with which plot devices in which environments...

bio-molecular torpedoes. they are likely to be removed from that mission, changed and repackaged on the rep tab as XII instead.
