Don't like grind? Vote with your playtime. Don't play the "grind" content. Don't do the rep system. If they blindly follow metrics as you all claim, then try to help make the metrics speak for you.
That's what I see mostly in a lot of the posts. Seriously people, many are going nuts and acting like this is a new occurrence and the world is ending. We ALL knew there would be more rep and they've constantly stated rep systems are here for the long-run. Why are people getting all bent out of shape for something they knew was coming in the first place? You don't have to do it.
If you don't want to do it, don't do it. Simple as that.
We've had it with reputations and time gates. It's like playing browser social games. Let's get back to multi episode season that progress the storyline and have nice rewards.
Sincerely,
The players
Nobody ever reads anymore. They have stated why they don't do the big multi-episode FE arcs anymore. It is much more expensive to make and most people play once. You put those missions out then people will be crying, "OMG CRYPTIC HURRY UP AND GIVE MORE Content ALREADY!."
We knew this was coming. New season means new rep, new holding, and new lockbox. The only question is whether the Undine Plasma weapons will be rep or lockbox.

I expect a weapon type in the rep and a hybrid in the lockbox.
I expect a Undine Space set that makes the ship look more organic similar to the Borg set, a few Anti-Undine sets in ground and space varieties.
As far as an Undine Lockbox goes, I expect they will do the same thing as the Tal Shiar lockbox where the lockbox ships are Romulan/Borg Hybrids not Borg ships. So the Undine Lockbox ships will be some type of Undine Hybrid ship.
tribble shows the planetkiller. it definitely has that vorlon look to it, but not as disc shaped or that large blue band running on the outer radius or even that large.
T6 Miranda Hero Ship FTW. Been around since Dec 2010 on STO and bought LTS in Apr 2013 for STO.
Species 8472 ships have always seemed heavily influenced by the Vorlon ships. Scorpion aired in May 1997 while the first Vorlon ship aired in February 1993. Also we have Undine Planet Killer ships and Vorlons have Planet Killer ships.

wonder what next, the borg enemy creating a large metal net hidden inside a large anomaly raining down missles on a planet

I don't mind the Rep grind. And one big reason why they do it. Is mostly due to players blast through content so fast. Then they fuss for more.
However the new grind I will work on my alts some to get the caught up. At least until I get my Romulan geared from the Romulan Rep. Then I will do it.

Bio-organic tentacles that twirl around at the end of my nacelles like they're streamers on a kid's tricycle. Bonus points if they have sparkly particle effects.
I've seen enough anime to know where this is going.

Yes, they have been influenced...
In fact, the Species 8472 ship is based on the Vorlon Bioship wireframe. Adam Leibowitz admitted to this, but later recanted. He knew which side his bread was buttered.
Foundation Imaging (And Digital Muse) took over sfx for the latter seasons of Voyager and Enterprise after the run of B5 was over. Under deadline, they have been known to...ahem *reuse* older assets and simply change them up enough to throw in Star Trek. Hence, the 8472 Ship being a Vorlon ship, the 8472 Creature being based off the Shadow Sentient, Krenim Bioship being a hack of Babylon 5, the Aquatic Xindi flying white Stars, etc etc.

Yeah, prolly. I think we are in a full circle now. Babylon 5 was based on Deep Space 9. Mass Effect was based on Babylon 5. And Star Trek Online is more and more like Mass Effect with every patch, which is not bad. (Wish ground combat was at least half as cool as it was in Mass Effect.)
Which brings us in a full circle lol.
What it means is another reason for me not to bother with Romulan rep, and another step towards reaching the point of the game losing too many players due to ridiculous grind. At least the different scenarios in the queued mission make it a little more interesting. And if it means that I can get shields with a brown (Vulcan-ish) ship texture, I'll drop everything and just start grinding this up to 5. (Assuming it's like the Dyson rep and isn't a nigh-infinite grind.)
Tl;dr: It means nothing much yet, but may eventually result in DOOM if it continues like this.

I'm looking forward to the "Vorlon" rep and "Vorlon" lock box... It's about time to be honest...
Cryptic must like my money... Wallet is on standby...
Cryptic can you please change the Undine beams weapons into lightning. It's canon. If the undine is going to pretend to be Vorlon, do it right... Oh and give it 20% damage versus Borg ships please.
The dress is gold and white. Over 70% people says so. When viewed from a certain screen angle it appears blue and black. The dress displayed on amazon is a blue and black dress, but it's not the same dress in the picture. If you're seeing blue & black you're slightly colored blind. A normal upright screen = white and gold.
Cryptic have been inspired by Mass Effect in the past (Dyson suit, Odyssey Bridge), so I would not be surprised if we found this in a Undine lock box as a set:D
We don't have the Borg Rep or Tholian Rep either. We do have the Task Force Omega Rep, Nukara Strikeforce Rep, New Romulus Rep, and Dyson Joint Command Rep. It makes sense for these organizations to create technology based on captured enemy tech and create technology that counters enemy tech. The Federation and Klingon Empire might not be able to effectively use that captured enemy tech effectively on the enemies they captured it from, but they have far more enemies that it can be used on. After all, the Borg Prosthetics are captured Borg technology and there are far better weapons from the Omega Reputation for use against the Borg.
More nearly effortless dilithium for my alts every day. Also some shinnies I probably won't use on my main since I already have all the shinnies I want. Unless they're, like, really super shiny this time.
Nitpicking is a time-honored tradition of science fiction. Asking your readers not to worry about the "little things" is like asking a dog not to sniff at people's crotches. If there's something that appears to violate natural laws, then you can expect someone's going to point it out. That's just the way things are.
question... how does it not make sense for us to get undine tech? people keep acting like is totally impossible for feds/klingons to figure out biotech.
it's not like there a fed ship with Bio-neural circuitry from one of the shows is there?
if I stop posting it doesn't make you right it. just means I don't have enough rum to continue interacting with you.

It is not a win-win situation for them.
