I can understand why cryptic done it as when you reach Tier V there was no other ships that were higher so they released The Fleet versions and to do that we needed starbases and fleet provisions as a way of purchasing them. But getting Fleet marks can be suck a drag as there is only a few ways to get marks and you have to grind and grind to get 60 marks I think it the highest I got without a bonus event and that was in Crystalline catastrophe (I may be wrong with this). Now I'm not a avid PVP player as I know that side of the game is broken in some ways. But wouldn't it be good if they had done a fleet vs fleet pvp even if it was 5 vs 5 to make certain numbers flaired and it earned fleet marks for either each round won or each kill and then at the end the people who had the most kills/wins would get bonus marks and then the runners-up will get some but not as much.
The reason I suggest this is two fold Fleets have very little interaction with other fleets and star trek was all about meeting new life and civilizations and fleets can be STO version of that.
PVP bootcamp would have more people joining so they can PVP with there fleet or on there own. It would increase compeitition in a good way so we can then do tournaments and stuff.
what does anyone else think

As long as it isn't mandatory, get whatever gimmicks you want.
Personally I wan't nothing to do with bickering PvP'ers.
This. This explains it all.
As for getting fleet marks:
- Defera Hard run (240 marks in 15-20 minutes)
- No Win Scenario (around 280 marks for completing wave 9, which is achievable by most teams that use the appropiate gear and boff powers)
- Colony Invasion (45 marks in 5 minutes)
- Fleet Alert (47 marks in 7 minutes)
No, I don't have a problem with getting Fleet Marks. More ways is never a problem, but you might want to take a look into this.
You will never have a problem getting marks, ec or whatever. The only problem in STO is the TIME. The goal is to gather as many resources you can in less time possible. But if you have all the time in the world, you can get everything you want, if not today, tomorrow. There are plenty of options to gather marks, dilithium, and everything else.
I have thought about this idea once or twice myself and I think it would be pretty fun
I don't pvp much outside of fleet and I think it would be fun to lead my men into glorious battle! Win or lose it would be fun and teach us allot allong the way no doubt.

If your proposal has absolutely nothing within it that provides a thorough and sustainable change to pvp to make it enjoyable, then all I'm going to do is just hit full impulse into the enemy team every time I respawn until the match is over and I get my marks.
I'm okay if other people want to be masochists, but I'm only going to be a TRIBBLE if it means fleet progression, and if Cryptic doesn't care about pvp -- I won't either.
Plenty of missions that give choice of marks, fleet marks or some other marks. Getting fleet marks is not a problem.

You left out Starbase Fleet Defense (20 man PvE) which earns 105-115 FM during Bonus, or 75-90 FM regularly.
It varies depending on if the Starbase survives during the various phases, and if all 4 holdings (comm array, shipyard, industrial fabricator, and transwarp gate) survives during phase 3.

As for PVP...the worst thing about PVP is the PVPers. Unfortunate because I generally enjoy PVP of all types. Gotta close the chat window though.

I've received thousands from occasionally hitting up the starbase for assignments.
Nahhh. They are easy to get, seriously. Very very easy.
