Fleet Emblem Color selection

G'day,
I've been having this problem for months now. I want to choose a brighter color for my fleet's emblem, but most of the brighter colors automatically turn into a light blue (almost white), despite the fact I'm selecting a light red or yellow.
-I've gone through the entire color pallet and most of the colors I select turn into the light blue.
-I have even chosen to accept the pattern hoping that it would correct itself once the color selection was saved. It still came out light blue regardless of what lighter color I selected.
-The only colors that work properly are the darker colors that make the fleet emblem difficult to see.
