Well, I'm sure you'd be excited by the Arcorvette.

It's exactly like the old corvette, but takes a little longer to load and has adverts.

I'm sure it will be something involving grinding since that seems to be the way things are going to be now, maybe they'll offer people another chance at the Risian banana boat.

It'll be the 'vette and something else, the Winter Event model seemed to work well.

You have to figure it'll be Risian, and I can't see them with a lot of cruisers or science vessels.

So, my guess would be something escort-y again with a different gimmick that synergises with the go faster one from last year.

ETA, either the above or a floating hotel turned cruiser.

Probably something that looks cool at first but not very useful when you fly it like last summer event ship. Given that all of my other winter and summer ships gather dust I doubt I will show up for these anymore.

if it were to return i expect it like it was with the winter event, corvette coming back and perhaps another (risian?) ship and perhaps some different fluff context. some are asking for moar skin for their female toons to enjoy their teenage erotic fantasies on.

if its been in the pipe line for a few months and just back logged but completed and just waiting for the right time later in the year.. some stuff could of been in the pipeline for months.

I found the risan ship, and forgive me for this, to be a silly piece of rubbish pod racery. Any other event ship over that thing. If it comes as an alternative to another ship, coming with a set console I may get it if the other ship appeals but ill certainly not be going for that sto clownshoe.

A bit off topic, but does anyone know if the ships return each year? as in, can this summer, my KDF and Rom get the Corvette and in the winter get the breen ships? or is it one each year and then done?

There's no 100% certainty, but based on the last Winter Wonderland it's very, very likely. Last WW was the first "get the new ship, or last year's ship" event so it's reasonable to guess that's the new model for them all.

I actually fly it still from time to time.

What I like about it is, compared to most of my other ships, it actually feels like a sports car.

Way too fast, brakes terribly, sliding all over the place, enormous fun for a bit now and then.

Then its back to the people carrier for the school run, sorry, STF......

I would imagine the next Summer Event ship will be another Risian vessel with an originally non-violent purpose. Perhaps a cruiser or science ship with terms like 'star liner' or 'pleasure sloop'. But I wouldn't complain if some Yridians showed up and gave us their starships, perhaps referred to as 'heavy couriers' rather than destroyers or freighters.

As for the event, I know they've been tossing around ideas like swimming for a while. I'm not sure if that will make this year or remain an option for future years, but swimwear would be a good bet, as they have already shown work on chest textures, as evidenced by the Khan uniforms. Activities like pearl diving or beach-combing would be good additions. It would also be nice to have a 'traveling party' that meets each day or night and grants event favors, but cycles through locations.

Actually, I am hoping that it won't be a ship, BO or a tribble.

A weapon (perhaps even a set), A trait... Anything that isn't just "the usual".

Let's hope we'll get some Doff Missions, as well ... like during the Winter Event ... would make it easier to get those Lohlunat Favors ...

"Summer Invasion" with Water Guns instead of Snowball Guns ... could be an "easy" addition ...

... when it comes to the new Ship, i would love some kind of Freighter / Pleasure Cruiser ... really don't need, yet another Escort ...

My problem with the Risian Corvette was that it is a decent escort instead of being a non-combat vessel like the Tuffli Freighter and Suliban ship. The Risian Corvette could have introduced additional PvP in the form of races and have other ships created that have absolutely nothing to do with combat. Instead they made it into just another escort. Future Risian ships should be hybrid ships where they are decent at combat and good at some non-combat role so we could introduce a Risian Freighter.

Perhaps but there isn't much in the game for a non-combat ship to do. There is nothing like profitable trade routes and mining is a fixed game mechanic not an exploitable environmental element, so sure you could fly around and role play being a freighter but you would mostly be flying around doing nothing.
And Risa is a tourist destination, so it's ships would be something catering to the industry of entertaining tourists, like a cruise liner, tour bus shuttles to look at comets, amusement rides that skip through the atmosphere, things of that sort. Plus things that might be needed in an emergency like EMS/Fire/Security vehicles.
It wouldn't be very efficient for them to field their own fleet of freighters when they would regularly be dealing with traders that already have their own ships.

STO "Freighters" (Suliban Cell Ship / Tuffli) are mostly for Doffing ... nothing new ... could work the same way ... maybe add a Dabo Table & some Risian DOFF Recruitment on it's Bridge (if there is one, like the new Breen Interior) ...

Besides some Hybrid could work as well ... if there are SCI/TAC Hybrids, why not Cruiser/Freighter Hybrids i.E. (like the D'Kora) ....

PS : Doesn't really matter what you'd call it, Freighter / Cruise Liner / Pleasure Ship ... Suliban Cell Ship isn't your typical "Freighter" either ...
