    Ah yes, the Dauntless.

A ship built by an alien race pissed off at Janeway.

Isn't it awesome how the FX department for Star Trek Enterprise apparently recycled the model to meet budget while laughing about how it would undoubtedly send people into a rage induced coma arguing about the model being "canon"?

Species 116 only had Arturis full of hate.

The rest just made a run for it.

With the U.S.S. Dauntless Janeways crew could have made it to Earth in just 3 months.

It didn't take Lt. Paris long to adapt Voyager. It worked.....briefly. LOL

Yes and Starfleet, the KDF and the RR have the very same ability. The Dauntless is obsolete.

before we start getting a ship that wasn't even federation to begin with, I would like to see the niagra class, the new Orleans class, the springfield class, and the challenger class all ingame before the dauntless.. lets get the ships that "were actually" federation starships in the game before we get the ships that were deceptions in..

im not saying no to the dauntless as it is a pretty cool ship, but they really need to get the above mentioned ships in game sooner than later..

not that I am a lockbox fan.. but.. the dauntless seems destined for a lock box, being that its actually an alien ship with a holo projected hull and interior.. seems like that could work for everyone..

Yeah. Also present were a couple 200 year old Federation designs, the Nova and Prometheus, a similarly aged KDF design, the Vor'cha, and perhaps most bafflingly a 250 year old Devore Warship and a 450 year old Vissian Starship fighting for the Sphere Builders.

My Low Cost Fun Ship? T2 Cruiser (w/Contitution skin).

Cost me nothing. If you chose another ship when you got promoted, you can get one for 15,000 dil.

Fun to fly. Nice to look at (esp for those of us who grew up on TOS/Movies).

Also, I might be imagining things (but I don't think so) but when I take her into the Dyson Sphere, I really think others stop to help mop things up just 'cause I'm flying a Hero Ship.

AWESOMESAUCE I too loved the ship design and wanted to see it. I do hope they make it a cruiser style ship.

It's a small and inexpensive starship to fly around the Milky Way Galaxy.

We just need to add a few bells and whistles to it.

The 1st ship out of the shipyard should be called the U.S.S.Zephyr.

Put the Delta Flyer in the hanger bay.

Where the HECK are you getting the idea this'll be an inexpensive ship, aside from you claiming that it is?!? Plus, you want a hangar bay AND "bells and whistles"?

    2500 zen at least...

Yes, but where exactly are we going again? A fast, feature-packed ship complete with Delta Flyer hangar, or a "small and inexpensive starship to fly around the Milky Way Galaxy"?

    Two different roads.

im pretty sure the op has no clue as to what he/she is even saying. lol.. firstly, nothing in "sto" is inexpensive. secondly, making it a carrier is just silly.. thirdly, the first ship of a class (prototype) produced by Starfleet usually is named after the class (in this case, uss dauntless) with an nx registry..

you cant argue that the dauntless already existed, cause it didn't, that was a ruse, a fake. another ship with a holo skin, and interior.

further more, in sto, there is already a zephyr class ship, and presumeably, the prototype ship would have been named that zephyr.. so sorry, the name is already taken..

Why do people have so much desire for a craft that decided "flying saucer isn't cool; flying trowel is cool!"?

Have we even actually seen this ship beyond one episode of Voyager?

Even V'GER would have more value to this game's content (HINT HINT HINT).

Why do some people get so bent out of shape over what others like or want? Does having the 'flying trowel' in the game make STO less playable for you? Are you forced to use it even if you don't like it?

Let people like what they like; and they'll do likewise for you.

True, except, I believe, for this part. Even then, I agree with the intent. Pretty sure the class is named after the first ship in the class. Chicken before the egg stuff, really, but... And NX is reserved for experimental craft. A production-line ship, be it the 1st or the 5th, will (in Starfleet terms, anyways) bear the prefix USS.

Perhaps this ship, if it comes to be, could be named after the Voyager crewmember most responsible for gathering the specs that made building it possible? The USS Tuvoc? USS Torres? USS Paris? God forbid, the USS Janeway? Perhaps some of these names are already taken, or maybe there's a naming protocol that won't allow a ship to be named after someone who is still alive? Who's dead? How about the alien who tried to trap them with the ship in the 1st place? Since it was all his plan, he must have done the designs to look like Federation Specs... Name it after the dead designer?

Anyways, really, I agree: just plain silly. A little disappoited that this alien ship is not only actually on the radar, but slated to come before some long-anticipated Fed-design ships.

To be fair, the flying trowel is already in game. I get mixed up which escort it is, but it's the one with MVAM.

And next time you're at the dinner table, flip over your spoon and tell me which ship you see. It's Voyager, of course.

So, we already have the trowel, the spoon, and I have a strainer that looks suspiciously like a Galaxy Class Saucer.

And yes. The ship showed up, blurrily, in an Enterprise episode where Daniels brings Archer into the future. Since it is 200 years later AND one of the ships it is fighting is 400 years old, it could be argued that seeing any of those ships is less "canon" and more "ZOMG!! We have a deadline and no ships to put in the scene!!!!"

But yeah, I'd rather see V'Ger, too...

You infer this is "RAGE RAGE RAGE RAGE RAGE SPACE TROWEL!" when in reality it is "why do people want something that won't improve the value of the game?"

Do you see the problem here (with you)?

My point wasn't that you were raging. My point was you took the time to be critical of someone else's want in the game. It will improve the value of the game to them, as they are getting to fly a ship they want to fly.

I am all for new ships and new ideas. This game stopped being canon a long time ago. It is try-to-please-everyone-Trek now, so give people the ships they want to have fun using. STO is more fun when you are flying a ship you really like, IMO.
STO is about my Liberated Borg Federation Captain with his Breen 1st Officer, Jem'Hadar Tactical Officer, Liberated Borg Engineering Officer, Android Ops Officer, Photonic Science Officer, Gorn Science Officer, and Reman Medical Officer jumping into their Jem'Hadar Carrier and flying off to do missions for the new Romulan Empire. But for some players allowing a T5 Connie to be used breaks the canon in the game.

    I hate the Dauntless.

Also the Steamrunner was in several background shots in ENT (Azinti Prime for example).

Norway and Yeager dammit... I still want my Typhoon and Jupiter though.
JJ Trek The Kelvin Timeline is just Trek and it's fully canon... get over it. But I still prefer TAR.
