I've seen the quotes regarding CBS and the TOS connie. but I haven't seen anything on the others. I can also kind of understand the Exeter cause it's basically Kirk's newer connie used in the movie, but what about the Excalibur? I've searched around and seen nothing regarding that from either Cryptic or CBS.

The Tier 2 Cruiser has the Constitution Refit as part of its lineup. If CBS said no to TOS Enterprise, then it obviously applies to TMP Constitution. Apparently, Cryptic for some reason is not willing to do the simplest thing to give Fleet Cruiser Retrofits and just remove the Constitution Refit for the Tier 5 lineup and give us the ship.

You mean the whiteish beams from the enterprise? The emitter type? This would be cool too. They operated out of a hole though.... Not sure how they would work on today's ships. Maybe like the Kumari phasers?

    Yes, it makes no sense.
Yes, I have a compelling argument as to why this should happen since you ask...
YES, EVERYONE wants this, they just don't want to back the senselessness of it, but they want it nonetheless. And why can we have a T5 T'Varo Romulan, a T5 B'rel Bird of Prey but NO T5 Conny!!!!
Yes, I want it for purely cosmetic reasons. I'm The Kirk dammit...
Yes, I want it with comparable weapon, device and console slots to other T5 Vessels so I can complete Elite STF missions in it.
Yes, I want four Universal Commander BOFF Slots.
Yes, I'm willing to compromise, it doesn't have to be the TOS Conny, it can be the refit. and it can be restricted to beam weapon only, no cannons.
Yes, I changed my mind on the compromise. I want it with both TOS and Refit, hell even mix and match of both. I'll stay with the cannon restriction though, that's only fair (cannon). As an additional compromise, if we can't have it then just give one to me with all the above parameters.
Yes, it should be earnable through in game reputation play, fleet requisition and C-Store purchase for 2000 Zen.
Yes, I'm begging, I need this so freakin bad, please make this happen!

What clas would Connie fit in and be workable it is bigger than the Raptor Class on the KDF side smaller by far than any "modern" cruisers. It might fall into the destroyer class but really it would perform poorly. If they did it it would be a novelty ship not a real usable ship.

While they may have agreed to not make a T5 connie, why not make a Holo Emitter of one? Would give people a reason to scream "Dabo!" more.

Cryptic would probably love to do it, there's demand and money to be made. But what's-his-face up top at CBS won't let Cryptic do something like that, because a Connie would never stand up to an Ambassador, or something.

Which is weird, because Jem'Hadar buggies pop like a cockroach under a shoe in DS9, but the 'bug is the best escort in the game... hrm...

Since they already said end-game connie is off the tables due to CBS, I think you should concentrate on things that have not been taken off the tables.

    This includes :

    T4 Constitution
    T5 Exeter
    T5 Excaliber

The Exeter looks very similar to Kirk's movie connie, so that might pose a problem. But the Excaliber I think is different enough to pass the bill (and still resemble a connie).

Yes, my compelling argument is that I'm an idiot who loves the ship and wouldn't care what class they put it in as long as its an actual T5 retrofit with the interior of my choice and the ability to PvE elite missions solo or in a group and not burn up like I'm made of tissue paper.
Yes, my other reason is because I'm home sick from work with a pounding headache plus flu symptoms and I want to watch my CBS/Paramount Blu-Ray Remastered TOS set (that I paid quite a pretty penny for) while cruising STO in my TOS Conny. I also want to re-iterate that I'm willing to pay Zen points.

I hope that was compelling enough.

The hull strength for that should be far less than that. Something like 32,000 would be sufficient since it is a retrofit of a ship that is about 150 years old. It should not have the same hull strength as a Heavy Cruiser Retrofit.

The Constitution should never have a Tier 5 version and should be able to rest in peace. Instead of people always trying to dig her up.

The chances of that happening are about as slim as CBS giving in and letting them make a t5 version

Might as well add them since there are Andorian (phaser) Beam Array, Dual Beam Banks, and Cannons. Just like there are Romulan (Plasma) Beam Array, Dual Beam Banks, and Cannons.

Sooo, you speak for the entire population of STO? last I seen everyone in fact didn't want one, myself included , only a few people do so don't presume to speak for everyone. Does that mean I believe no one should have one? no, frankly I could care less either way. My personal opinion is that it's an old, out dated rust bucket and the original series reaked of lousy set design, poor costume design, and terrible acting.

Yes, I LOVE the stats and go back to the senselessness of my request when confronted with ridiculous facts like hull points being the same as an advanced cruiser retrofit. If PWE/Cryptic were truly concerned with game balance a T5 B'rel retrofit wouldn't exist, nor would a T5 T'Varo retrofit for that matter and yet both are currently available in game now for Zen points. My point is that there is precedence for "old" (150 year old B'rel?) ships in the fifth Tier.

No, we all don't want this. Its an ugly ship. It's almost as ugly as the ambassador and excelsior classes. Hell, the avenger looks good by comparison. On top of all that, its beyond obsolete. They scrapped it and used the material they could salvage to build one of the galaxy's warp nacelles. I wouldn't fly it if it was the most powerful ship in the game.

Now, since we're on the subject, I disagree with the whole "tier" scale. The way I see it, old ships shouldn't get tier 5 models. The older the ship, the lower the tier. So, it would work like this; constitution remains at tier 1, maybe the refit/retrofit make tier 2, excelsior gets tier 2, with refit/retrofit at tier 3, ambassador is tier 3 with refit and retrofit at tier 4, galaxy is tier 4 with refit and retrofit at tier 5, and sovereign is tier 5 with refit and retrofit at advanced tier 5. Follow this formula for everything else. Fleet ships are advanced tier 5+

Yes, you're absolutely right, I can't possibly speak for everyone who plays the game. Please refer to my initial admission of sensellessness ;) In reality, I probably (hopefully) represent a powerful minority of people willing to pay for Zen points to acquire what amounts to a personal treasure who simply want to hear the word "YES" as an answer to this silly request.

I think the key difference there is , The KDF kept building new and varied models of Bird of Prey , whereas starfleet design principles changed and they moved on to the Excelsior class of ship ( which was produced for around a century ) so a refitted B'rel is much more likely to be seen (since the Klingons kept building Bird of Preys) than a refitted TOS connie , Excalibur and Exeter classes are another story , they SHOULD be in game at T5 just without the refit skin imo

In 2409 , the chances of any non-refitted constitution classes outside a museum isn't exactly high , and same goes for the T'liss , the one used in the starting missions at T1 should be the only usable ones imo and the refit at t5 should have options for that skin blocked ( Just my opinion of course )

It won't be done for the same reason that the Gal-R fanatics won't get a LTCMDR uni, because its over the top, but yours is even more so. This would render every cruiser in this game inert.

"Critics who say that the optimistic utopia Star Trek depicted is now outmoded forget the cultural context that gave birth to it: Star Trek was not a manifestation of optimism when optimism was easy. Star Trek declared a hope for a future that nobody stuck in the present could believe in. For all our struggles today, we haven’t outgrown the need for stories like Star Trek. We need tales of optimism, of heroes, of courage and goodness now as much as we’ve ever needed them."

Not really, there are tons of Federation Canon ships that can be used to add ships to it side. KDF and Romulans have dramatically less for them to use for reference. The Klink's were still using D7/K'tinga hulls during TNG and if I remember right DS9. The only Romulan ships we really saw were the D'deridex, Mogai and Scimitar. We only saw the slightest glimpse of a Connie' Refit in the aftermath of Wolf 359, most likely a training ship thrown out as a speed bump in desperation. The Fleet Connie (or any T5 and up Connie for that matter) does not need to exist when the Fed's have so much more to offer.
