Error -2 when loading url /launcher_login

unable to launch the launcher since it was updated.

heres the error log

    Finally loaded after the a reboot and trying like 10 more times.

    I'm have the same problem, i load up the game, it flickers for 5 seconds then it all turns blank and says Error -2 when loading url path /launcher_login

    I am using steam if that means anything

    Sounds like both of you are suffering from 'corrupted data' on your connection the STO Servers. Running the 'Trace Route' and 'Net Test' network diagnostics, and posting the results would help provide some necessary information for solving this problem... http://sto-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?t=225155

    having some simuliar problems here 2
    launcher is very slow, and patching takes ages

    Same issue here, starting today. Running through Steam, it displays the login page for a second, then kicks to Error -2. Accessing the URL in a browser window showed it working fine. Restarting, rebooting, verifying data, and even deleting and reinstalling did not resolve. However, I can say with confidence that it's not a network issue - launching manually from outside Steam worked perfectly fine, even while the Steam copy was displaying the error.

    What's going on here? Are others able to dodge around it this way?

    EDIT: Okay, it's not Steam vs manual launch. It has to have two copies open; the first one will show the error, the second will go through properly. Even weirder.

    I am still having this problem , using the stand alone patcher . Cannot login . This is day three.

    Same problem here after installing the approx. 900 MB update. Nothing seems to work so far.

    Same here. Error 118 since the patch for season 9 rolled out.
    anyone know what URL the launcher is trying to reach?

    Just shut yur modem and wait atleast 20 seconds and plug it in again that should solve it :)

    This started happening to me from last night.

    I was playing happily, logged off to get some sleep.

    Decided sleep was for the weak and came back to do some gaming...



    What fixed this for me was resetting my modem to factory defaults.

    Reset modem and that did not work for me. Will continue to investigate. Will advise all if I find a different solution.
