S'a Hirogen lockbox with new tetryon weapons. Whether they'll be any good, I dunno.

You might. I may be wrong, but when I've checked Hirogens on Tribble their Tetryon weapon wasn't blue like normal, but more white or green-ish (I'm poor with colours, bare with me). Some kind of hybrid weapon is very much a possibility.

No matter what box it is, I want the ability to pile them up in a wide-open area of a planet and call an Orbital Strike on them.

Are people really that excited about Hirogen lock box? After Timeship, JHAS, Galor, D'akora, Romulan, Elachi, Voth ... etc, etc.

I hope I never understand the madness that compels people to gamble away their precious money on this TRIBBLE.

That is why I save up my dilithium and exchange it so I can gamble away other people's money on this TRIBBLE.

If the new lockbox and lobi ships are hirogen then my wallet will soon be much lighter.

On a side note, I really wish the Lobi store offered more unique Bridge Officers with every new lock box release. The Liberated Borg Romulan Science Officer is on every one of my toons (I have 11 of them) and I'd love to have a Hirogen Tactical/Security Chief.

    New Bynar Lockbox.
Can only use the ship if you team up with someone else. Everything either of you types gets broken up and with the second half said by the other. Passing by a supernova without downloading it's computer into a shielded core will cause your ship to be permanently disabled.

Really? You believe this nonsense? You should know me by now.

What else are we going to believe? Right before the Dominion Lock Box came out there was a refurbishment of the Dominion NPCs, right before the Ferengi Lock Box came out, the D'Kora got a makeover, and the Galor got that same treatment too.

People will believe the Undine Lock Box is coming until we're definitively told it's something else.

Even then, I'll probably still think it's coming, just later rather than sooner. Cryptic has proven that the Lock Boxes are their way of rewarding people with more luck (or money) than sense, and an Undine Lock Box will be completely in keeping with that spirit of nonsense.

A Bynar Lockbox with a special Bynar ship.
You can use the ship only if teamed up with someone else that has won the ship, otherwise it doesn't work and sits dead in space.:D That'd be the troll of the century. lol :P :D

Except they've already said it wont be Undine after people were bringing up that idea after the update. Undine would be the absolute most stupidest idea for a lockbox reward ever...even surpassing the likes of a Borg Sphere.

Agreed in that regard. It's like what I say about the people requesting Naga to be a playable race in that MMO which shall not be named: It's NOT going to happen. Undine ships would never work for the current factions, due to how they're designed to function. Only way I see this happening is if we get the (VERY unlikely) Undine player faction. Same general case for Borg ships.

On top of that, some people seem to forget that the Undine only got a GAMEPLAY upgrade, nothing visual that indicates they're being revamped for use as player ships.

On the other hand, I welcome the Hirogen box. Glad to see the hunters getting a bit of attention for a change. They needed it.

I actually had a bit of an "Oh TRIBBLE!" moment in regards to getting players into Undine ships in a manner that works with the narrative - namely that you get Assimilated Undine ships. Between TF Omega and the Adapted Romulan ships from the Tal'Shiar lockbox the game's got enough precedence for ABQ powers being able to work the Borg tech well enough to modify existing ships and with that one episode we know the Borg have figured out how to assimilate the Undine once....

That said, I'm going with the next lockbox being Dyson actually. We've got the new ships coming out and with all the systems work that's gone into them I just can't see the Devs not capitalizing on the Anniversary event to launch the new lockbox with a bit of a bang. Personal opinion is that the Hirogen have gotten a touch up because they'll be featuring in the new FE.

He he thanks for the posts i like the idea of a hirogen lock box. But i don't like the cross faction nonsense for example starfleet officers flying a hirogen ship.

Kinda, considering we're already getting the ships. Sounds kinda droll to me too, but that's just my two cents.

    We don't need Dysonception :P

A Solane Lockbox would make sense really. Lockboxes have for a while been related to the updates/story for some time now and nothing in the current story involves Hrogen, nor are the Hirogen ships getting a visual update. The Undine aren't involved in the current story really and their update is AI not visual.

Sort of. Between the new ships and the Dyson rep system you've covered the thematic niches of Dyson ships, Dyson equipment, and Dyson weaponry. You could expand our selection of proton based weaponry, which would be cool, but it's not terribly necessary considering that we already have some (that probably shouldn't be undermined with gear in more desirable areas (see. DHC's) considering its part of the cornerstone of a rep system.)

But that said, protecting the "integrity" of a rep system by keeping hugely desirable items out of the game would be a pompous reason for cryptic to avoid a Dyson lock box. I think the main question is probably just that of the ships (how do you add more Dyson ships without detracting from the 4th Anniversary?) I think the answer may be a more generalized Dyson Sphere lock box with gear from the Dyson multi-species task force on the one hand (providing more proton weapons) and liberated Solane gear on the other (ranging from swarmer combat pets to more ships made by the same species as the Obelisk carrier.)

Well maybe a Dyson Lockbox was a bit too generic a term, i was just thinking that with the new ships being "Hybrids" of Iconian + <Faction> technology, but at a way deeper level than we've seen so far, that maybe they would introduce some other "Hybrid" or "Crossover" items to go with them, Or as mentioned perhaps an Iconian or Solonae Lockbox?

Well complimentary hybrid/crossover items is also what I was thinking with the generally themed "Dyson Sphere" lock box. Expanding the palette to include original Solonae tech as well is simply a way of finding ships that'll work for this lock box but, at the same time, won't directly compete for attention with the 4th anniversary stuff (since you may get people on either side investing in lock boxes and lobi to get around event grinding or grinding to get around lock box/lobi store ships. But if you have something else, but still provide the lower-tier equipement that compliments the 4th anniversary, you can feed on people's interest in the hybrid ships but at the same time allow separate interests to develop in the lock box ships.)
