  Launchers, how do they work?

  Well...I'm not too happy about their service here either, tbh!
  Yesterday evening I was playing just fine...then today when I come to log on, I get an update (more like an downdate, seeing as how that turned out!!) to the launcher.,...and now all I get is "connection timed out, please check your network"....bull****!! There is nothing wrong with my network, Im operating the net as per usual, other games work just fine!

  Cryptic, there's no reason that this game needs to be 95% patch. You take the stuff you've previously patched in, and put those files in the download for the game. Computer gaming 101.

  You didn't install the game through Arc - you installed the launcher, which is responsible for patching the game.
  
  The long-term plan for Arc is to eliminate the launcher, so you will be able to install the entire thing through Arc.
  
  I don't see how it would save you much time though, since it will be 8 GB either way.

  Wow. Didn't take me nearly that long, took me at most an hour. My buddy just dl'd as well and took him maybe an hour or so.
  
  I feel lucky. I know sometimes with these launchers the DL estimated time isn't actually accurate and you would be able to pause or stop the DL and restart it and it would show an actual time frame for the DL.

  The problem is that the servers are in California and due to the water shortage they cannot cool down the hamsters, so they slow down instead to be able to do the job.

  You installed from the launcher? Ouch...
  
  In fairness I think the last ARC-Less release was before LoR so that would be 5GBs of your patch, the rest would be accumulated updates

  funny ive been having trouble updating the game do we have to have this ARC in order to update the game?
  the cryptic auto update launcher dosen't seem to work
