He's really incredible, huh? I couldn't stop smiling while he was recording -- it took me back to some of my most favorite childhood memories of watching Voyager with my dad each week as a new episode premiered. I felt like I was in a dream listening to him.
Can't wait for you all to hear him in-game next week.
Cheers,
Brandon =/\=
That's very good to hear. Already from the way Tim Russ talked about doing VO, I gained a feeling he knows what he's doing. This VO could really be great (barring the possibility of bad script).
They had faith... to believe... Russ could do anything. They had strength... of the soul. No one was gonna bend or break them.
TOIVA, Toi Vaxx, Toia Vix, Toveg, T'vritha, To Vrax: Bring in the Allegiance class. Toi'Va, Ti'vath, Toivia, Ty'Vris, Tia Vex, Toi'Virth: Add Tier 6 KDF Carrier and Raider. Tae'Va, T'Vaya, To'Var, Tevra, T'Vira, To'Vrak: Give us Asylums for Romulans.
I love that Tuvok refuses to put his old uniform aside, especially next to his bridge crew who, of course, wear two completely different sets of uniforms.
Why, Cryptic?
EDIT: Regarding the upcoming content, I like Tim Russ and maybe it can be fun to hear him in the game. It's not his fault, after all, that both Voyager AND Star Trek Online were and are just horribly written
^ Memory Alpha.org is not canon. It's a open wiki with arbitrary rules. Only what can be cited from an episode is. ^
"No. Men do not roar. Women roar. Then they hurl heavy objects... and claw at you." -Worf, son of Mogh
"A filthy, mangy beast, but in its bony breast beat the heart of a warrior" - "faithful" (...) "but ever-ready to follow the call of the wild." - Martok, about a Targ
"That pig smelled horrid. A sweet-sour, extremely pungent odor. I showered and showered, and it took me a week to get rid of it!" - Robert Justman, appreciating Emmy-Lou
you know. two or three times in the show when voyager made it home (even if it was an alternate future or what not) voyager was imidiatly turned into a museum.. literally everytime.. so that shows that basic Starfleet thinking would have that done.. I find it kind of stupid that voyager is not a museum in this game.. but there is the biggest problem with sto, the devs don't care about story, canon, or the franchise..
just a little thing that bothers me about this release.. ive also never seen so many admirals doing the work of captains... tuvok is an admiral, getting in the thick of things.. we are all admirals, getting in the thick of things.. im constantly running into admirals who are in the thick of things..
Tuvok didnt come to my mind, when i was thinking about possible vo-actors. But since that Star Trek character is a "brain-heavy" character and not one of the "womanizers" (e.g. Riker, Paris) i like his appearance even more.
Good work cryptic and good sign for the game when more and more series actors appear as vo-actors ingame.
Hope my English makes sense since it isnt my mother language
I don't foresee any major new features for Foundry in the coming months, however.
Dan Stahl in June, 2013:
The basic gist of it is: NW is going to launch. Once NW is live, I'm going to have the programming team on STO start looking at the features (well, we've been looking at the features all along) but looking at what we can actually merge into our current working branch for the next update, and see how many of those features we can get into STO.
Awesome, Tuvok is an awesome Vulcan. I enjoy his dry and deadpan delivery of any humourous lines. It's different to the way Spock seemed to intentionally try to deliver a joke. I also enjoyed his moments of Vulcan wisdom. So we've got Worf for the KDF, Sela for the Romulans (altho not the RR itself), and now Tuvok for Starfleet. Who's next?
Great news! An iconic character for each faction in game: Sela for Romulans , Worf for Klingons and now Tuvok for the Federation.
But I still hope in Jeffrey Combs as Weyoun X (Brunt) or Armin Shimerman as Quark (we all know that Quark is secret owner of PWE ) as a quest giver in DS9.
YES TO THIS also isn't the Lobi store technically Quark's creation? we need Quark to tell us to buy ships! lol

the problem is all those other times voyager was stranded more then 10 years, more then a third of the crew was killed. with those conditions of course the UFP would make it a museum ship. now that voyager came back in merely 7 years with most of the crew intact, UFP would decide just refit the ship. it's a totally different circumstances.
Nitpicking is a time-honored tradition of science fiction. Asking your readers not to worry about the "little things" is like asking a dog not to sniff at people's crotches. If there's something that appears to violate natural laws, then you can expect someone's going to point it out. That's just the way things are.
Not to sure how I feel about Tuvok as not a big fan of Voyager but he was in a TNG episode and think he also was Tuvok in Generations as well so makes this ok hopefully his VO would be better than Wofs which felt flat to me

Don't make ARC mandatory! Keep it optional only!
