PWE Now has a new dedicated Tech Support Forum!

Please check it out, and help us build it out. ANYONE can access these!

http://techsupport.perfectworld.com/

Please take some time and read through it. Many things are in the Support Knowledgebase, which is the best place to look first. when you need help.

Please put the Acronym of your game in the posts and threads that you make.

All updates, advice, etc; are moved to this new forum.

This tech support forum will eventually be phased out.

The tech support department has wanted this for a long time, so that we can communicate faster, easier, and more reliably in one location.

We look forward to serving you all a little bit better!

Any way to make it so I can use my cryptic login?

I currently have an issue with getting the music player to work with itunes.

Oh well. Looks like us old cryptic accounts are stuck with older forms of help.

I'm not worried. I would rather keep my account on cryptic. :)

What is the benefit of using the PWE forums as opposed to the actual STO tech support forums?

No thanks Darth, tech support has always been pretty shoddy, and i can give you 5 friends' ingame addys off the top of my head who have suffered from it too. Moving it wont solve those problems and i'll be damned before i made a PWE account for any reason.

As for localising tech support, it was localised HERE, moving it wont make it worth a damn, sadly :(

Alright let's be honest about a few things here. PWE Customer support in whole is a complete myth, and what little there actually is, is a complete joke. The only customer support you get from PWE is a simple cut, paste, and problem marked as resolved no matter if it actually is or not. Merging all PWE game tech support into one forum isn't going to change this, in fact it will fracture it even more. There really needs to be a few individuals assigned to each game, and each game needs its own support forum.

IF this is truely the way PWE thinks it can best resurrect its tech support fine, but leave the STO specific forums active and just simply clean it out and supply a sticky topic with a link to the "official PWE Support forums"

The Best support for Client side issues is and will continue to be this forum, the dedicated players, computer specialists, and other professionals and enthusiasts that can provide better client side service than any generalized "support" PWE could assemble.

sorry if this comes across as rude but no thanks and I really think you need to be careful what your saying to your audience. I read through your introduction and i was a little disgusted with this :

In my attempt to hold onto various baked goodies for obvious and immediate consumption, I had my limbs ripped off and various wounds inflicted upon my pandaness. I was near death, and her feet really stank.

is that really a suitable thing for people to read ? do you really think Brandon would talk about having his limbs ripped off ??

You can keep your "little project" and shove it in the recycle bin. The STO community has been going fine where it is for the last 2+ years.

As the saying goes thanks but no thanks. And in future you might want to be more professional in your approach as I really am disgusted by that intro of yours.

if this actually means that we will get proper tech support than i am all for it...
if not, than please don't waste our time.

how long until the PWE + Cryptic accounts are merged so i can actually use it?

because i have some pretty big things about STO that need some attention.

oh and... what about all the hundreds if not thousands of STO Players that have been banned from this forum (i know a few) over the last 2 Years? Will they not be able to get this kind of Support? (which imho is a basic Service, while the Forum itself is more of a gimmick.)

Gotta admit that i feel the same way.

Although in their defense, 99% of the PC issues reported here don't even give details as to what's happening. Gotta love "I got an error! How fix?" reports.

May have something to do with the 12 stickies here in the subforum though....

If you link your Cryptic account to a PWE account, it'll make things much easier on you and the Customer Support staff, once all the Cryptic accounts merge into a PWE account later on.

Our new tech support forum is the tech support department's. Minimal red tape to get answers to you all and reply to you. For ALL games, no tiered support, so ALL players can post and ask questions on the forum. I worked to get it put together over this last year, and we are working to expand the support knowledge base even more.

Tech Support being slow via the old Cryptic was because they were overwhelmed and had really deep queues. When we combined CS teams, we helped clear out all the queues for ALL the games so we would be able to have a much higher chance of 24 hour or less turn around. Especially for tech support.

Give us a chance, you might like us ;)

Also, there are some forum bugs with the new switchover, please be patient as the teams work on it.
Do you need help learning about patching the game, installing it, changing antivirus/firewall settings, changing network settings, learn how to use a computer, keeping your PC maintained and more?

When I click 'Login', I get this error:
"Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete."

Similar thing with Chrome. IE just never completes.

    Cookies are not disabled. :(

I've had this problem for some time now. Supposedly, posting about your problem here will somehow make things better...

post your problem where you like because PWE ignore it anyway... raised a ticket 50 days ago... posted on this forum and PWE support forum, short of writing the ticket with a plane in the sky i am not holding out for much of a response.........

Support at least entails that something is addressed or resolved and as for tickets being dealt with in the order they are received.......Fleet mate raised a ticket two weeks after mine and has had it answered..... The support service here is beyond comical.....

Please please please do not let PWE get involved in any plans to defend earth from approaching asteroids as between them they probably couldn't crack an egg and if they did they would look down and find the egg was probably a ping pong ball

I also get the same server error trying to get to info about my ticket... On this computer, My laptop, The other gaming machine upstairs and the Ipad..... the ipad was not on my network but using wap........

Few days ago I've sent a ticket, two days later I got a list of suggestions... about 90% identical to the "I tried so far" list in the very first entry. They don't even take the time to read the entire ticket, regardless the size of it.

I find a rather major problem (for myself) and navigate to these very forums for help. After scanning around, no dice, so I click the amazing "Support" button up there, and end up at PWE support. Okay, I'll give it a shot. Submit a trouble ticket with all I have tried, as many specific details as I can muster, and send it off. Months later, I get a response (I don't count the 'These actions might help' message I got). The extremely helpful people at PWE Support suggested I wait. Really? Wait? Brilliant. I must have forgotten to log in at different times on different days to ensure that it wasn't a traffic issue. Their 'reply' managed to tell me to basicaly try everything I had already done again. As expected, I still can't play STO.

If their intent is to completely destroy STO in order to promote PW, then they should just shut down the servers already. Then all the actual talent at Cryptic could move on with their lives, and stop wasting their expertise on new lockbox names.

So now there are two places you can ignore us? No replies to my query here, no reply there. As if being ignored once wasn't fun, I get to be ignored twice, and to think I gave you guys my money....more the fool me!

nicely said after all that seems to be what happens as nothing that is wrong with STO seems to have been fixed (me and a lot of other players been waiting ages for them to sort the patch servers out so we can actually get on the game  I've also sent several emails to customer support to get the issue fixed and guess what their reply was apart from the this might help junk they said that they knew about the issue and were working to solve it that was ten days ago and it still hasn't been fixed neither do I or the hundreds of other players locked out of STO have any idea when it will be fixed Damm you customer support)
