Initial thoughts for me is same here. T1 Connie for me, maybe even popping the 500 for an NX... Sorry, I personally never was a fan of the Galaxy's lines...
However, I might drop by in a Gal-X, I'm just about to un-mothball her and see if she gives my engie the same amount of fun over in the Sphere as my T'Varo has in quick-run combat evasion...

On Jan 28th this month there will be the one year anniversary of an insanely long thread - 530 pages and 5300 posts 'What is your beef with the Galaxy Cryptic' - in the federation shipyard section.
In honor of this milestone - I propose that everyone who has a galaxy ship - even if it's the old t4 free version you still have in space dock - dust it off and show up in orbit of Earth space dock for a large get together.
So what do people think of making this 'what's your beef with the Galaxy Cryptic' anniversary - a show of Galaxy's at ESD???
While I would love a new c-store version of the Galaxy - this is just supposed to be a fun event to see how many Galaxy's we can get to come out. And to commemorate a thread which for some reason has become HUGE.
P.s. I put this in the general section because there may be thousands of players who have a galaxy sitting around and might want to dust it off for this one day event.
Heck people might even want to take that galaxy off for a day long spin through the content.
Post what times would be best for you and I will pick say 2 - eastern standard - of course it would be an all day thing for your galaxy.
Currently looking at the first time from 4pm to 5pm EST to catch a lot of Europeans and 8pm to 9pm to catch most of the US after work.
This will bring a tear to my eye... I will of course be there in my Galaxy
Excellent idea. SRS fleet has a small channel called SRS-Galaxy which all are welcome to join and use for any Galaxy class ship related event. To join type in your chat bar "/channel_join SRS-Galaxy" without the quotes. See you there!
It should be an all day - use your Galaxy event - but if there is lots of interest then I could add an 12pm to 1pm EST slot as well. I will update things if people want different times.

While people are doing the Galaxy parade, if the times line up, you could do a tour of the universe/galaxy with the Galaxy class.
I think watching a large number of Galaxy class cruisers (and their variants) fly around would be interesting. Of course getting everyone in the same zone for each sector block would be a challenge.

It would be good if it works out that way. I am sure in ESD zone chat we will be able to get some private 20 ship events like defending a starbase going. Would be great if there were some people filming 20 galaxy class ships working on a mission!

Lol, the only two exploration cruisers I have (on two different characters), are majorly kit-bashed between the available parts, and still couldn't get either of them to look good, in my eyes. Weirdly enough, even though the Ambassador looks heavily like a Galaxy, for some reason, that ship class still looks nice to me. Eh, go figure.

I doubt very much that is likely to change merely for this anniversary. I know this topic wasn't initiated after a revamped Galaxy, but more to an organized Galaxy meet, but the mention was put out there.

Sure, I'll be there. I have never been terribly good at flying a galaxy but I guess I have some time to work on it; if I had enough free zen maybe I'll even buy a more up to date galaxy.
Honestly, my time is mostly spent on grinding dillithium and doing ESTFs, so actually being able to do something new will be fun. If it goes well, we maybe could make it an annual event!
Well the galaxy did get a major upgrade with the release of cruiser commands. Then again.... all cruisers did.
and the Cryptic Defense League is in full force defending the abysmal state of iconic ships and cruisers in this game hoping cruiser commands will solve all cruiser problems. Guess what, on the galaxy and galaxy-x, it doesn't make near enough difference.

So I could use it to get the T4 Galaxy for this parade. I can't think of anything else that I would do with the token on my character.
