I could have sworn that was available all last year after the 2012 event ended.
But I will say that from the looks of things, you guys decided to run the fastest game on ice for free Q photos all the way to the end of the event instead of shutting it off a week or 2 early last last time. That should make some players happy.
Still no fix for the Jumja Fudge recipe. 2 weeks or so in a row with no patch since you guys were on vacation, which is cool, but no holiday event bug fixes in today's patch. Good show.
It was, but it was not intentional. We decided to leave it since there was no communication around it being removed.
If you enjoy doing the raising assignments up until the event ends, that's no issue at all as you can turn in the Epohhs until until Friday, January 31, 2014 at 12PM/ Noon PST. The researcher is no longer available on the 16th, ~2 weeks before that date, so all of your assignments should be completed well before the 31st.

So we'll have a couple weeks to trade in winter epohhs for marks after we can no longer raise them. That's a relief.
But.....If it wasn't intentional that they could be traded in all last year, why wasn't it fixed before? What's the harm in keeping it available year round? It's not like we can keep raising them and trading them in. Once you trade in what you have, that's it.
Also all last year, and I noticed before the winter 2012 event, we could trade in the various holiday commodities at the GPL console for GPL. I noticed it when I was new to the game, a few months before the holiday event started and at the time was wondering what andorian sleigh bells and bolian candles were until the event started. Was that unintentional too? The thing is that you can find the various holiday commodities year round in the exchange. Unlike epohhs, this means you can just keep buying them and trading them in at the console (if you're stupid enough to waste your energy credits like that).
Why is it that unintentional things like this takes so long to "fix"?
My Reman will not be able to finish the Breen Chel Grett Cruiser reputation project before this event is over. However, I can't queue the Plesh Brek Raider project. The reputation window will only queue up a copy of the current project in progress. Which makes no sense whatsoever.
As it stands, those of us that couldn't start our character right away on this event (i.e., character not high enough to visit Winter Wonderland) will not be able to get both offered ships when Q returns next year. I would like my Reman to be able to have both of the offered ships from this event. Can this bug be fixed, like, before the end of the event?

You were only able to queue up 1 of the 2 ships at a time. You need to complete the project you started first before you can queue up the other project for the other ship. There wasn't enough time anyway to get both ships for free even if you started getting the Q photos from day 1 and did the race exactly every 20 hours. You would still come up at least a little short and have to trade 5 lobi for a box that gives you a lousy 2-6 pics with the average probably being around 3 pics per box.
And seriously? You couldn't reach level 5 on a new character during the event?
Hell, a couple weeks after the event started I created a brand new character. I got the character to level 50 over a week ago, doing mostly episode content to level up.
Edit: I can understand you not having time to level up a character all the way during the event. But you only needed to be level 5 to enter Q's Winter Wonderland and level 10 to do the Winter Invasion PvE event. (romulans needed to be level 10 and have chosen to ally with fed or KDF before they had access to the Winter Invasion event if I'm not mistaken)
At some point every major holiday will have special epohhs.
I think one of my mains unlocked full bank and inventory space and most likely won't make it to have any room by the next special event item explosion lol.
Can't you extend it a little? I mean, I don't have time to get all the rewards... Just a few days?

Well, I don't know where you did your math, but 43 days x 24 hours = 1032 hours. 1032 / 20 hours = 51.6 FRoI runs. And 51.6 runs (really, just 51) x 40 = 2040 pictures of Q. Last I checked, the ships were 1000 pics each. So, yes, it is actually possible to get both for only pics during this event.
(EDIT: I actually might be off by a day, but then the 0.6 would make up for that and we end up with 2000 pics for the whole event.)
And, yes, I know what the rep description says about slotting a new Winter project. It is to prevent players from getting both simultaneously ahead of everybody else if they use Lobi along with FRoI runs. That can still be achieved by allowing the project to queue after without slotting simultaneously.
I am so happy you had all the time in the world to do that. Some of us have lives. I have 5 different toons, two of which are Romulan and Reman (you can probably tell from my forum title), as well as a career. I don't have lots of time to sit through cutscenes that won't skip with the escape key on two characters. I also have been busy doing rep for my other pre-LoR toons. Not to mention that my youngest brother died over the winter break from a blood clot that got loose in his system.
So, yes, seriously. I am sorry it offends you that I have not been on as religiously as you would have me be. But I am a customer of a hobby. This isn't were I live or work, it is where I relax when I have time to do that.
I am asking Q with all of his benevolence and generosity (e.g., Cryptic and not you) that he may allow a Reman I acquired out of a very large purchase of Zen I made in response to the promoted Zen sale (and I have spent several hundred in real money on this game already), that I was finally able to get to level 10, and that is currently working on a Breen Cruiser rep (and will be at 400/1000 rep progression by the end of the event), to queue up a raider rep BEHIND the cruiser project so that it can complete the full Breen Set Winter Wonderland, at least sometime next year if not by the 31st. It is not an unreasonable request.
I also see this as a win-win because I would be more willing to spend lobi to get the pics for the reps until the 31st, so PWE would be able to get a bit more money out of me. So, I can either not spend anything and wait until next year to maybe finish one project that would possibly give me only half the Breen set, or "Q" can allow Q-ing the Raider right after the Cruiser to encourage me to spend money on something I know I will be getting: a full Breen Hypercooled Technology Set.
I am one of the Many (and no i do not confuse Many with Majority) players vexed by LAG, Rubberbanding and assorted other glitches, to say nothing of server connect/disconnect issues. I have tried to play almost every day, but thanks to the aforementioned issues, am extremely behind other players' 'average' progress. As of today, only 2 of my frontrunners have completed their 11th race. I've had far too many days where the game was so bad i could accomplish nothing. Not one race. Not even doff assignments. Insult to injury, some members of the forum community have trashed the victims of these situations, calously joking about it to outright accusing them of making it up or imagining it or 'our fault' the situation occured.
I had been looking forward to the winter event, but have gotten tons more frustration from it than anything else, let alone a fraction of the enjoyment i had hoped for.
Six days to race. Looks like the only char of mine to get any new ship from the event this season is the one that had 880 photos from last year. So now my hopes for 2014's Winter Event will be that it plays at least half as well as 2012's did.

Ehh... I plan to turn in all but the Pups and maybe the Moppets if they're the evolved types. No reason to keep piles of them around all year. Marks aren't that desperately needed.
I hope the next one will be something completely new and different with alot more things to do.
Probably the only reason I dislike the winter event--schedule it when school-going people have finals, then there's christmas and bad weather when things can be knocked out...
Really, it'd make more sense if the "winter event" lasted "all winter" and the same for the summer--- toss in a spring and fall one too.
I did 2 runs and after the second one I was like what the heck is this? Nah, like you said way too repetitive and the rewards were very poor, almost non existing unless you grinded your little furry bottom.
So, where will the Winte Event Store be located? I have it unlocked but, since we will no longer be able to access Winter Wonderland, where will the vendor be?
You can access it in the Event Reputation System UI - there is a "Store" tab.

1) First of all the voice-overs were a TERRIBLE idea. I mean it. I had to play with the voice volume turned down all the way.
2) I'm a uniform collector, I admit it.
3) The fact that Wonderland launched with several game breaking bugs that were not immediately corrected was a challenge. Yet again "cryptic has no quality control or quality assurance team LOL" has to be said.
4) Somewhere along the line the animation for walking/running in the frosted boots was changed. Before it looked ok, now it's roadrunnerish and immersion breaking.
Now the things I liked:
1) Snow Weapons: VERY creative. The candy-shotgun was my favorite.
2) I am reminded of other winter carnivals and festivals that I have attended in the past, so you got the environment and setting right!
3) The gameplay, once debugged, was a hoot. I enjoyed the village raid mission.
4) Enjoyed the music once the voices were muted.
Hope this helps improve the experience for next year!
My Romulan captain has been relived by Tovan Khev and been referred to the ship's counselor, citing an unhealthy obsession with 'Epohh Friends,' my human captain is in sickbay while my medical officers try and figure out how to defrost him, and my Ferasan has been continuously stuffed so full of pies, roast targ and just about every holiday consumable, that she's outgrown her command chair.
It was a lot of fun, I just hope my captains are of sound body and mind by the time the next event rolls around.
Last year only 2 chars were short of their 25 runs; this year my frontrunners barely made it to 12. WTH!?!
Grade: Fail.

Ditto. My in-game journal, in GMT/UTC, still reads 16th Jan 8:00pm (or 20:00hrs). At 8hrs ahead of PST that's noon Pacific; so also a 2 hr difference between what's reported in my game client and the time stated in this thread.
