While I don't have any unopened lockbox ships or large sums of EC lying around, I'd certainly be willing to discuss trading an 800-Lobi ship for a Veteran Fed engineer... something I've been looking for for a while and their scarcity would seem to justify that kind of cost.
I want one but then again everyone I know who would sell me one wants the same amount as a lockbox ship so no deal.
Assuming we are talking about the Veteran Boff that was handed out to those that got shafted with the Dil conversion in Season 5, you can understand why people are asking for huge prices. Vet officers are an extremely rare commodity. And actually rare, not like Cryptic's idea of rare which everyone has.
I for example have exactly 1 of those special Vet boffs because I barely qualified for one on one toon. No one in the verse has enough latinium, dilithium, or energy credits to get me to give her up.
Others might have several they are willing to give up, but keep in mind that amount of Vet Boffs are finite. Extremely so. There are no new ones that will ever enter the market. Lockbox ships, while finite, do have a source of replenishment.
So if you want something that is actually rare, you will have to pay for it. 100 mil or so seems reasonable for a boff that comes with unique stats.

O think they should add the android boffs to the store and replace them with the veteran boffs as a vet reward. Seeing as how they ARE called veteran boffs.
Yes they should be made available again. No justification for them remaining exclusive anymore considering how other powerful space trait boffs are available to romulans.
I'm speaking as someone who does not have one nor will ever likely get one (but still wants one).
I don't think they should be available again. This game seriously lacks an actual rare item, as a previous poster said. It is a unique item that you can actually be proud to say you have one. It should stay that way.

Of this I disagree, just look at the IDIC Tribble that eventually made available via Cstore, when previously it was rewarded when Europeans were welcomed on the same server, just as well the Galaxy Class Dreadnought was also made available for purchase. Season 5 is years behind and new comers to the game should have at least similar access to such Boffs, Items and abilities that are considered rare, as you can see the market is up for such rarity's as new people are slowly learning what they missed out on. Cstore Vet Boff's would also bring the game in some money.
The Galx was from the referal program which doesn't make much sense to have at all since the game is f2p nowadays. Also there was a lot of crying about gating an iconic ship behind the referal. In that exchange, the people who had already gotten the ship never had to give up anything game wise to gain said ship.
In the case of the IDIC tribble, it was handed out FOR FREE to anyone who was on at the right time over a 3 day period. If you missed out you, bought it. Again no one that didn't get the tribble never had to give up anything at all in exchange for the tribble in game wealth.
Now in the case of the Vet Boff, people who qualified for them had sizable portions of their in game wealth taken away. Very significant portions when the dil conversion happened. Those boffs represent huge amounts of wealth. You get me the exact change of the wealth that was taken from me and everyone else who got shafted in the great dil exchange and I'm sure holders of Vet Boffs will be okay with Vet Boffs being in the C-store.
Because at the end of the day that is what those Boffs in particular represent. Those certain players, who represented the top percentage of wealth in game at the time, major buying power was taken away and replaced in the form of a unique boff. So unless those specific players get compensated accordingly, their compensation should remain unique to them. If they choose to sell their Vet Boffs it's their choice. However, once again it is one of the only truly finite things in game and thus actually ultra rare, not Cryptic's definition of "ultra rare".

true, however I disagree with you. because they have had them for 2 years to me that is more then enough time to enjoy them. now is the time to let other people to get them. truth be told you may other people might have been shafted but it is now time to move on.
Okay in light of understanding and respect to what was "Taken" away from players via F2P conversion, I can understand where this Attachment you hold comes from. However you are still speaking of things that are "Past tense".
Still if "Pride" and wealth [Which Star Trek is not about] is going to make a fight of this subject. How's about an alternative then? Hmmm?
Lets say a Veteran Cstore Boff that is only slightly effective than those that were given during the conversion? I could see that happening at least, and many can still keep their memory's, attachments, and pride to things that are long past.
Can anyone explain what exactly a Veteran BO grants you?
Is it purely rare and/ore cosmetic, or is there something else?
The Federation versions come with vanilla Mk XII Purple Gear from the get to. And the 2 Traits that make them special are Ground: Veteran (For all team members: +20 All Damage Resistance, +20% dodge chance, +20% Avoidance). Space: Space Warfare Specialist (+5 Starship manuvers, +5 Starship Targeting systems, +5 Starship energy specialization, +5 Startship Projectile Specialization). And being human they have Teamworks and Leadership.
It's a minor stat buff comparable to leadership and as a KDF player nausicaans boffs are already better.
Other than that they are normal Human / Klingon boffs. Make them available again and there will be no reason to use them (it's just a rare item).
What if they, each anniversary, ran an event project like the Breen ships and the Risian ship for a vet BO token?
Like, each February, they give you 28 to collect 15 items by playing an FE daily to get a Vet BOff?
Now... to keep things a bit more fair for the Dilithium folks, Vet Humans/Klingons remain unique to them but you have a new species every year that has the Veteran ground and space traits as their optional two traits.
So... 2015? Vet Remans and/or Voth in celebration of the LoR year. Each year, the species is chosen around the year
In keeping with making Vets feel a bit special but also a bit plain (like the originals) and because they're "veteran", they wear your faction's uniforms.
New species every year at anniversary time. (Incidentallly, this means if you want them all and skip a year, you'll be spending Lobi on them the next year.) Two vet traits and two species traits. They wear faction appropriate uniforms. Event Project similar to Breen/Risian ships.

Well, I have a Veteran Fed Engineer. Would you be willing to, flat, trade an 800-Lobi ship for it? Because I'm thinking about it. Let me know with a response, or Private Message.

Bridge Officer vendor at ESD or Qo'noS. Same NPC you go for Androids and C-Store boffs.
Could you send word that I'd be willing to deal?

I second this, I think it's time to start adding all past unobtainable things, items etc in the Cstore.
