Ever since season 8 launched I've been having issues with "Disconnected From Server"
I was happy to see the Batteries bug has been resolved.
But I was hoping the patch would have also addressed the server stability issues since Season 8 launched.
(I know for some this has not been an issue) but here's a few questions I have;
1. Are you having problems staying "Connected to STO's server(s)"
2. Should I try to find "Zones" that are near empty (would this help me stay "Connected")
And if I'm in a busier zone (60-80 people) will that lead to more server disconnects ?
3. Is there anything I can do on my end to mitigate the connection issues ?
*Never had connections issues with STO before season 8; I would get disconnected maybe once every 8 hours prior to Season 8 -So it wasn't a big deal-
But now nearly every 10 - 20 mins I'm getting disconnected -this has become a problem-
As I can't help my fleet with PvE, and while doing PvP I feel really bad for my team when I ge kicked 5 mins into the said Arena or C&H
*sigh*
Hopefully the forum Gods have some answers for me.
Love STO, and hoping this can be resolved.
I was having constant problems too.
I was playing through my network wirelessly, and not having any problems with anything else. Not internet or any other games.
However, since I plugged in, not one disconnect.

Wireless is slower and more like able for collisions to occur than you are directly connected to your router/modem
I'm crashing every time I change game maps. The timer gets to 40 percent, then I get "Timed out connecting to GameServer", and back to login. There's no reason or excuse for this.

I installed all of my updates *had a few in queue*, after that I didnt have any disconnection issues. Played 3 hours last night, No problems.
Yay!

Ok summary is easy its Packet loss from either cogneto or above net combined with packet loss from cryptic servers and perfectworld server.
from 20 Test in 17 cases the cryptic/perfectworld servers have first the issue of the packet loss. then above/cogneto jump on the train.
here is one of those tests:

I tested also the game servers, same issue, but far higher loss rates.
