  • Equipped consumable items will no longer be placed into the inventory when used.

  • The tertiary attack of the Voth Shocktrooper Cannon may no longer be used in Social Zones.

Known Issues:
  • A crash is occurring for some at the loading screen after launching STO.
  • The mission "Mine Enemy" cannot be completed.

WHAT!??!? that was awesome. That and 100 disco balls made DS9 worth going to.

What about BFAW etc not crit'ing? Or has this been fixed already?

Anything about simple textures and graphics/icons missing/not loading after a longer play time?

Overall the "Known Issues" section is way shorter than one would expect it to be...

+1 Please fix Fire at Will to crit again, this would really make my day :)

+1 Also kind of sad the Voth Stormtropper can't use its tertiary attack in social zones. That's actually the reason I even knew it existed and then spent 50 lobi on it. It is also a pretty good gun though, but it's more FUN than good. I think this will dramatically reduce the sales. Sad!

The mission "Sphere of Influence" is making costume slots unusable for some players. See here:

Is there any chance this bug will be fixed before December 5th?

Maybe I'm a tad confused, but FAW in of itself, shouldn't be causing any better chance to crit, or even increase chance to hit with a crit. That should be native to the base beam array of itself, if it has CritD or CritH, in of itself. I would think if, of anything, the FAW would 'water down' the chance to cause a crit, anyway. I find myself at this point, not relying on it, as much, as all the 'dps' talk, is ever fubar to me.

SAYING this, since it was apparently a part of FAW somehow anyway, I would 'like' to see it back as well. Let's just remind ourselves, 'not' to be dps freaks, please. It twas one reason I left 'that' over MMO, with green skinned pandas, and all that over leeted jazz. It all 'has' been about teamwork and the 'little' things, that all combined, that seems more important to consider here. I got to wave nine of NWS, with FAW, as it is, this past weekend, so lets not live in the pixelated fantasy that inaccurate (and all the current parsers 'are' that, thankyouverymuch,) dps numbers, that seem overinflated these days, anyway.

I'm more in the camp here, for getting FIXES for all the Boff problems, that have plagued this game, since LoR released! ENOUGH empty tray problems! ENOUGH changing zones, causing ship boff slots dissapearing! ENOUGH seeing Romulan Boffs in puke green uniforms! (And thousands of Reman clones in a LoR universe, as it 'is' also! ENOUGH all this even affecting Boffs unable to keep to their Doff departments, or even appearing on our bridges properly! (I'm SICK of seeing my Sovy bridge, overpopulated with all male Bolians! I mean, EW!!!)

How about some attention to 'these' problems, at some point here!!? A good game shouldn't have to endure this, for 'this' long.

I will just ignore all your anti dps nonsense and inform you that the issue is not that FAW should increase crit chance or damage, it doesn't and never has. The issue is that FAW should use your standard critical chance and no longer does, when in FAW you have a 0% critical chance. It has been acknowledged as a bug already.

And yet they wonder why server population has been down three weeks running. MAYBE... JUST SAYING HERE... ROLL BACK SEASON EIGHT?! BEFORE YOU LOSE YOUR ENTIRE PLAYERBASE?!

Naw. Boldly going forward because we can't find reverse.

Explain to me how it does me any good for them to update other TRIBBLE when I've been forced out due to Cryptic's error for two weeks, and being screwed out of my hard earned money.

Probably, and I know this is going to sound harsh, the team that's working on your problem is a totally different team then who is working on the other issues. And they're not going to loose the bucket full of cash to roll back season 8 for the very small minority of players effected by this bug, just to gain a drop in the bucket of your money.

Harsh that in the grand scheme your 30 bucks a month doesn't matter much to their thousands of dollars rolling in, a day. Sure. Fair to you, no. But they're a buisiness.

Glad to see you guys concentrating on removing fun game mechanics instead of fixing game killing bugs.

But you know what? I guess it doesn't matter now does it? By being allowed to visit their studios Cryptic has pretty much signed off on you and your fleet haven't they? They've said in deed what most of us have suspected for years. They're not going to stop you. They're not going to correct you. You won. After long last, you really, really won. STO is yours and no one is going to do a thing about it. Congratulations.

+1 to that. I'm growing tired of seeing my KDF-Rom in the same old outfit every day for a couple weeks now. (Sadly that Romulan main is the one character I chose to try the Dyson and Nukara rep on.)
TOIVA, Toi Vaxx, Toia Vix, Toveg, T'vritha, To Vrax: Bring in the Allegiance class.
Toi'Va, Ti'vath, Toivia, Ty'Vris, Tia Vex, Toi'Virth: Add Tier 6 KDF Carrier and Raider.
    Tae'Va, T'Vaya, To'Var, Tevra, T'Vira, To'Vrak: Give us Asylums for Romulans.

Don't make ARC mandatory! Keep it optional only!

Yes, but they also were also informed about this bug before Season 8 was shoved out the door. What do they do? Launch it anyway despite the fact it would block players for no reason. They have had more than two weeks to fix it and have they done anything? Last time I checked in my job if I were to do something like this to a paying customer I would be fired on the spot.

A crash is occurring for some at the loading screen after launching STO.

Well I am assuming the server is down the maintenance performed and put back up again?

Well varified files after last crash. Patched (started to get excited) 75% load on Cryptic screen and crash to desktop. And amazingly enough my old friend error ticket 18897741 came for a visit.

Cannot comment on the other fixes as I still after 2 weeks cannot get into the game.

you really can't do that with an MMO from a programmers view it is a nightmare unless it is like mere minutes in even then a rollback is not even remotely a feasible option also the big bugs will get squashed it does take a good amount of time to find what is wrong then test multiple ways of fixing it while limiting what else goes bad because of the fix Cryptic is doing their best to fix the problem just keep calm. I have yet to be extremely disappointed in them in terms of fixing a problem. Unless you want a really rushed patch job that does not fix the problem reliably then wait it won't be a perfect fix but it will definitely be beneficial to the game.

If it is anything like where I work, you have a few devs each dedicated to a few things, rarely overlapping in anything but inconsequential ways.

They have had over a month to get the loading screen crash problem fixed as it was reported in Tribble before it hit the holodeck. I understand it doesn't need to be rushed, but give me a break it shouldn't take an entire month.

You'd be surprised how much things that 'should' be simple, really aren't on their end.

Add in the fact they have a schedule, and don't have the option to roll things back/push the release a few days/shift their priorities as easily as we'd like (the first two at all)... it adds up quite a bit.

If I was to give TRIBBLE service like this to my customers I would be terminated on the spot. Customer should always come first! They knew this would impact customer and blantly disregarded that fact when the rolled out season eight. Now we have lost two weeks, going on three as there isn't a fix in this patch. Again, I would be fired for giving this kind of crappy service to my customer. Cryptic thinks they are above their customers.

I think blatantly and 'above' is a bit of a stretch -_- As I just said, they have no real option to roll things back, or push release dates ahead... meaning, when they know something is broken, and they haven't been able to fix it yet, there's little else they can do.

Is that blatant on their part? Not imo

And I know your comparison, but not all business's have the same practices or goals; it's just a fact

So you're saying they don't give a damn about their paying customers. Just as long as they get the money whether or not their customers can use what they payed for doesn't matter.

Yeah, I was just going to say the same thing.

    Not at all lol

I'm saying that people should have a little patience for when things go wrong, and have a little understanding about the dev's side of things, regardless of all other details. And when that patience runs out, to be civil when expressing their dissatisfaction. Saying things like 'they think they're above their customers' and such doesn't help, and also won't speed up any potential fixes

I agree that rolling back all of Season 8 at this point is problematic from a build management point of view. But it's not quite true that they don't have the option to delay a release or change their priorities. That's a policy decision made by Cryptic's management. So far, their policy seems to be release first and fix later. But what is preventing them from changing that policy?

From what I know, or have guessed at, a change of policy or other major changes in a business need some kind of approval from upper management (in this case, PWE)

But take that with a grain of salt, as inner workings aren't my strong suit
