Login problems & server disconnects

Hello all fellow Captains:

I have been experiencing many problems when attempting to log in and with very frequent server disconnects.

Are others having this issue? Are there router issues happening somewhere in North America?

Not pointing any fingers. Just want to find out why.

South West England here.

Weirdly, been having massive problems anywhere that isn't the sphere or somewhere really busy. I've been trying to level up a new fed character and i'm getting SNR of up to like 400s trying to load some maps...

When I've been logging on I get a 2 minute window of pure lag as soon as the world loads up. clears up after a couple of mins. Fun times when i logged on, into the battle zone and was surrounded by a Voth battlegroup

This seems to happen once in a while for no particular reason. I think it has to do with general server instability. The game will play normal ALL DAY until evening when everyone goes on for the current special event (this is especially so with new Feature Episodes and the like). Sometimes the type of system is irrelevant -- I have a friend playing on an almost brand-new Alienware something or other that cost him $1800 -- which, by the way, he got so he could play TOR on max settings -- and HE has problems with lag and rubberbanding and disconnects and server timeouts. This game is not graphically intensive (for the most part) so there shouldn't be a problem with processors or cards or what have you. It's THE GAME ITSELF. PWE would rather blame it on the player than man the **** up and fix it.

This, is a typical response of someone who doesn't fully understand. Just because you have an expensive computer, It doesn't matter if your family or your "friends" family is draining the speed of his internet or if his internet is being effected. I'm not an PWE employee and i'm telling you before you can pin the blame on PWE you have to prove your Network (Internet) is working fine.

I've got to agree with daqhegh. It's not the network, it's the game. I can go 80 places and 79 are fine while only STO gives me trouble. Not to mention that many of us can't log-in since season 8 started, 7 days ago -- that's not a network problem.

Like I said prove it.

you can not blame it on PWE everyone. Sure there is is some people that have an issue with the game and that is why they have acknowledge the problem and are trying to fix it. The people who have reported it have PROVEN it.

However! there are some which have proven to be a Network problem, So it is wrong to assume that EVERYONE is effected by the same problem. It could be a problem with pwe or your own problems.

So Until each person proves it to PWE fault. It's your fault or your ISP fault until otherwise proven.

So it is wrong to assume that EVERYONE is effected by the same problem. It could be a problem with pwe or your own problems.

Do you actually read these forums? Ships in esd,plasmonic leeches buffing the enemy,and all the other major/minor glitches???
You are entitled to your opinion but please dont give out bad advice when at this present time 8/10 glitches reported will all be down to pwe and their new content

This isn't opinion it's common sense. You have to treat everyone on an individual basis.

Two people faint, you going to treat them both the same with out knowing anything?

I've read the post you linked. Most people saying they can't connect because of the S8 patch.

Everyone assume just because the game updates and upgrades to different stuff that their computers magically upgrade them selves too. You have to maintain your own computers and or internet to make sure everything continues to work. You can not honestly say 100% that everyone in that post did all of that? hell no.

Look I know there is people such as you that has real problem with the game. Ok that is great I hope the game fixes the problem soon.

However just because a random person comes into the forum and says I can't log into the game does not automatically mean he is part of the existing issues. Human error and all.

Come on you have to understand what I am saying.

I'm having issues as well seemingly at random. Sometimes I can get in and play fine. Other times it takes forever to get in and there are severe issues. And other times yet I can't even get past the launcher.

Common variable. STO. Nothing, and I mean NOTHING, else has changed on my gaming rig. Ergo, I blame Cryptic. Yet the gentleman above me wants me to blame me when I haven't changed. I guess I am to blame then, for not changing? Or because of human error? Even though I got in game fine this morning? It's still my fault?

All you have to do with this is if you have a windows operating system. close Arc

Sometimes the Arc doesn't fully close, there is an icon next to the time bottom right hand corner. You may have to click on full hidden icons locate the icon for Arc RIGHT click and click exit /or close

restart Arc and the game launcher works

So, first of all, I'm new to this game. Started playing yesterday. I really didn't have any expectations whatsoever more than I just wanted to try something new.

But it's getting frustrating already. Whenever I move to a new location (sorry if I'm not using the correct terms here) like doing a mission and it tells me to Warp to this or that location. I do what it says, and away I go... just that instead of actually loading up the new area, I keep getting that Server not responding. And a few seconds later it says that I'm disconnected from the server (or smth like that).
This is getting really annoying, because this happens *every* time I move to a new location.

So my experience I get from this game is "Do a mission, and when you're done and need to go to next location, be prepared to be logged out and then log back in to carry on. Rinse and repeat.. over and over...and over again"

I do not buy the excuse that it's a networking issue from the players side. Because apparently there's a lot of people having somewhat similar networking issues when it comes to THIS particular game. I play several online games and NONE of them is ever acting up like this.

This is not a complaint, even if it appears that way :P I'm simply asking and looking for a solution, because I'm already getting tired of this game due to having to relog after basically every mission.
And off-topic, whats up with the graphics in the game? One minute it looks the way it should be, and then whenever there's a picture in picture of a bridge officer talking, he or she could have a very different colour of his/her skin. Just moments ago one of my crew was brown (and she's caucasian) with pitchblack ears. Not the end of the world, but again, more and more things are starting to build up as annoyance, and if this keeps up, well I guess I'll just go back to play SwToR.

I really want to like this game and I really want to give it a fair chance. But how can I, when I constantly get disconnected between travels/warping/whatever, and having to log back in.
I just wonder, what if I were to team up with some people, me getting disco'd as soon as we have to warp/relocate to new location. Can't be fun for them nor me.

Bottom line, I've been looking for solutions to these server issues but can't find any.
I'm hoping that either I find a solution of sorts, or someone comes up with one, otherwise I can't be bothered with this game. Which would be a shame, since I want to give it a fair chance.

Not sure if this is right place this only second prob since started, i recently made a new alien character, as soon as i finished the creation process i got kicked from sto pop up window said there was a login time out issue, so i restarted my comp to see if it would sort it, but now when i try to log in to ARC i get a login has timed out message every time i try it, my internet connection is fine, and the other MMOs both browser based and downloaded work with no problem at all

Could anyone help or point me to the right pages...

Again sorry if this is the wrong place to post fairly new to these forums.

i have had many log in issues from error 14 to the launcher just ticking over ..........
,when the games works it works but last 2 days from 11am uk time i get booted server game freeze in sto' stf's,have to exit and when try to log in i aint happening even file verifying gets me to the log in screen and cant get past character load up,only happening last 3 days not any log in issues apart from the new romulus load up screen issue,and obviously graphics textures and icon issues in game atm randomly has improved with recent patches but not cured by any means and its not my rig or my internet connection first things u check of the list
