Peanut Labs - RANT

Okay, so I'm new and excited and loving STO, I tentatively dip my toe in the water to explore some free zen offers and to my mind basically discover I've been conned.

I signed up to Love Film, a brand new customer, following the peanut labs linky. Wait a few days and no zen, so I pop in a ticket asking them to fix it. I get an automated reply that says they will be back in touch shortly. To cut a long story short, no one other than Love Film are willing to help put it right.

Love Film have been excellent, their customer service team are fantastic, they provided me evidence in writing that I was a new customer, that I signed up on the back of the promotion and even though they weren't at fault gave me a free week of subscription because I'd been messed around! If you are umming and ahhing about Love Film my advice is to go for it!

Peanut labs response has been an utter joke, I have even emailed their HR department trying to get a real person to reply and sort this out. So far I've had nothing outside of automated reponses that don't even try to resolve the issue. I've told them I have the evidence from Love Film, and still nothing.

Perfect world have a lot to answer for in this, we assume that anyone they are affiliated with would be a decent company, they also say that you should only contact them if you get no reply from peanut labs, which I have now done twice. The first time they closed the ticket and said contact peanut labs - erm, thanks - the reason I contacted perfect world was peanut labs just don't reply, so I hope this second complaint actually gets me somewhere.

Has anyone else had similar experiences? How did you resolve it?

    I created a mail-adress specifically for peanut-labs and only doing surveys. It's not as much zen as you get with an order, but the chance you even get the zen is a bit higher (2 out of 4).

    As a general rule, I start off by only doing surveys and free offers and avoid anything that says "Sign up with your vaild information", "Free trial with valid billing information", "Sign up and download/install", "Register (With someone besides PWE and Peanut Labs)", etc.

    While that limits me to basically surveys and the occasional 3-Zen "Watch The Video" offers (Corona, "Wizard of Oz", "Almost Human", etc.), it also means I don't have to worry about as much about possible situations like the one you describe.

    Actually, you'd be surprised, if you watch them daily when they're available, just how fast the 3-Zen video ads can add up... add that to any 49- and 98-Zen surveys you take (For some reason, any that are supposed to give more Zen than that disqualify a person almost every time) and you can start to build up a good supply. Though you have to be on the look-out for a special sub-species of the 'Forum Naysayer', the 'Just Grind It' - for some reason, some people insist that the offer wall is completely evil and the only 'true' way to earn Zen is in-game dilithium grinding... yeah, I can make in one twenty-minute quiz what it will take them a day and a half to grind the dilithium for, and I won't even have touched my dil-refine cap...

    Thanks for the advice, I understand what you are saying. I think the thing for me is I have been misled into spending money because of perfect world and peanut labs and neither of them are willing to honour what I believe they are contractually obligated to do.

    More over the complete lack of customer services has left me wondering if I wish to continue paying as a member and is making me and my partner seriously doubt our lifetime memberships that we were planning on as Christmas presents. I have no desire to pay money to a company that misleads and then fails to take responsibility....

    Still no replies other than automated ones :mad:

    If you wanted to go for an LTS; my advise is Go for it. A good friend of mine got an LTS from his wife as a surprise (good catch, haha!) and he's terribly happy with it.

    Now if we take a look at customer service.. From my own experience I know how difficult it is to offer decent support for so many players. Don't forget that it's very easy for a player to make a ticket. Some can take more time then others (crashes/ui/leechers/afk'ers/drivers/bugs/etc). If you have around 1 million players, where 20% of them make 1 or two tickets per day... well do the math.

    If I were you I wouldn't deny myself any fun. Concerning support I've been very laid back and been enjoying the game without ever needing to send in a ticket. If you need help with anything, ask the other players. If other players have questions, help them...

    I understand what you are saying, I'm a firm believer in the power of numbers and helping each other, but there are certain things that require an employee of the business to act upon it.

    I have been conned out of real money. This isn't something that you or other forum members can alter for me, it's something that requires an employee of the business to do the job that they are paid to do. At the end of the day I'll take legal action if needs be, but I do feel others should be warned not to part with their cash on the understanding they will get something for it.

    If perfect world don't slap peanut labs on the wrist, who will? Outside of legal action and blogging and reviewing there isn't really much I can do, they ignore every single one of my complaints. They've even ignored the evidence Love Film has provided.

    I've been cheated and I'm not happy :(

    The lifetime membership looks fantastic value for money, the game is fabulous - I love the Ferengi in me getting time to come out and play. It's not going to happen though if this doesn't get resolved.

    Update.

    So I continually have been blown off by perfect world, their stance has been (I'm paraphrasing here) "not our problem, you deal with it". I intend on carrying forward the complaint as quite frankly I don't think that's good enough.

    I have however FINALLY had a victory, I emailed support@peanutlabs.com and copied in the CEO of the company. I received an actual reply from a real person in 3 minutes!!! I'm just happy that I'm no longer being ignored and fobbed off.

    Anyone else who is having issues I urge you not to let it go, it seems there are real people there willing to help and sort things out. I'll post again if I do actually get the zen as I think it's important to know before we spend money if we will actually get what we have paid for.

    HUGE credit to Peanut Labs for fixing this issue, it appears there are some issues occasionally with where tickets end up which can cause delays.

    So I've not had the best of experiences, it's taken a month to sort out, countless emails and lots of banging my head against the wall. It can be incredibly difficult to get through to a real person, but if and when you do they are incredibly quick to deal with the issue and resolve matters. Which is ultimately what counts in the end. They obviously take feedback seriously and overall I'm a very happy bunny!

    Would I recommend them? Yes!

    I had an issue with PLabs a while back and they were basically like, "LOL Sorry you're on your own!"

    peanut labs is nothing but a SCAM.

    They take all your time and answers and just disqualify you at the end. You get nothing for your time and they get all their info. Nothing is giving rewards, even watching videos for 3 Zen is not working.

    Sent in tickets, on both PW and PL and NOTHING.

    Frankly Perfect World needs to get rid of them, their bad rep is dragging PW down into the crapper.

    EDIT:

    Cant even get the 3 zen videos to payout.......

    Pathetic....
