No mention of the issue that causes Commendations to not be awarded.

oh good I was tired of trying to figure out WHY the Voth were ripping me open like a tin can against a plasma torch but then unarmed probes were giving me Voth antiproton colored plasma damage when I used the same weapons. Can't wait for them to work correctly.

Only logical conclusion would be that they're still working on it.

That's quite the paradox, how could you nerf nerf when the nerf is nerfed. But how would the nerf be nerfed when the nerf is nerfed? This allows the nerf not to be nerfed since the nerf is nerfed? But if the nerf isn't nerfed, it could still nerf nerfs. But as soon as the nerf is nerfed, the nerf power is lost. So paradoxally it the nerf nerf lost its nerf, while it's still nerfed, which cannot be because the nerf was unable to nerf.

I call it, the Stoutes paradox.

I don't, and I don't care to know. It seems rather obvious that if they haven't put it in the notes, you can assume that it isn't finished.

Try a different perspective; there are a bunch of people who can't login at all. Should they, or should your problem be given priority? They'd be crazy if they don't work on the major problem first.

Just to be sure about this, does that also include consoles such as the plasmonic leech or are you just talking about weapons in specific?

Also please add the non-rewarding of dyson commendation to known issues ;)

And my medic kit doing damage to Borg instead of healing?
Wow. There is a new KDF Science ship. I'll be!

i couldn't help but notice two things:

first, every time the map changes, it has to "reload material files"

    why?

second, where did all the 4.5+ star foundry missions go? also included in this, all the spotlight missions have vanished except for Purity VI

This should be removed because it's really annoying.

^^ Agreed. Seems to be some sort of debug status line they've forgotten to take out.

The material files reloaded is a bug that has migrated over from Tribble. On S8 launch day Brandon did comment on this on a previous thread and it will be fixed in due course. As frustrating as it is the message doesn't however interfere with gameplay.

As for the foundry. The foundry more often than not is taken down for a short period after a season launch. The reasons behind this, I can not comment on.

Thx for the useful feedback. :)

Now, if someone could also point me to a thread where Brandon says they're working on fixing the missing body parts on Rom Embassy boffs, *g*, I'd be giddy! :P

I always do read release notes, and it would be a good assurance if all problems were fixed no matter what they are. Fixing just some things and not all is a half baked job as i mentioned before. That will not do.

Riiiiiiggggggghhhhhhttttttt..... So, your suggestion is, fix nothing until you can fix it all. Even though you may have something that can be fixed in 1 hour, but something else will take a week... we should all wait a week?

    Yup... completely logical

    Hi Captains,

We will be bringing down Star Trek Online tomorrow, Thursday, November 14th, at 7AM PDT (click here to view in your timezone) for maintenance and to apply a new patch. Patch notes can be found here, and we expect this maintenance to last for 2 hours. The test server, launcher and access to manage your account may also be unavailable during some portions of the maintenance.

Thanks for your patience and understanding,

    - The Star Trek Online Team

Any progress on the Foundry? It seems to be broken again.

Also, because I complained nonstop through my first 2 hours in the sphere ground battlezone, I am sorry for calling you guys lazy doofuses. I actually really love the new expansion, even if I keep getting killed in the ground battlezone by Voth specialists (yeah, really).

    Bugs that I've seen:
--Foundry is broken, again. Then again, you probably already know this.

--In the new battlezone, the baddies always fire at me, personally, first and foremost, even if I didn't shoot them or anything near them. This makes it impossible to use consoles unless I have like 3 other people with their away teams right by me putting up cover shields and/or killing the Voth before they can shoot me. Since the Voth are supposed to be defense, this radical offense (and the OPed Voth weapons that they use--punched right through VR MK 12 reg shield and energy resistance armor) seem to be rather out of character. I love the new battlezone, but please, guys, don't have the Voth zerg rush me every time I step foot outside the central safe zone. It gets annoying to die every 10 seconds.

--Certain special encounters in the battlezone (researcher defense first and foremost) are bugged and nonfunctional. Not sure if you're aware of this.

--I got lagged out of a PVP challenge at about 4:30 PM EST yesterday. Not that that was a bad thing--I was losing rather dramatically, thus proving once and for all that tac captains suck at ground for KDF side--but it was still kind of annoying. I think that this was a random bug, though, and not a recurring issue.

Things I really want to compliment you guys for:

--The Breach. This queue...is fully awesome. You guys really went A and B the C of D on this thing. I flew it in my mirror sovvie, and it was AMAZING. Room to maneuver even with a gargantuan eng cruiser--hell, my fleet boss ran it with me, and he was in an Obelisk carrier, which is a total brick. Incredible scenery, it felt like I was Lando Calrissian inside the Death Star 2 in Star Wars. You guys really made something special here. Thank you so much!

--Solnae tribble. It is cute, and the buffs are useful.

--The way you get free gear whenever you start some of the dyson rep projects. Although I don't really like the commendation system, I do love the split-rewards system.

--Sponsorship. Great idea, guys. Really awesome. Now my alts won't have to slave through 3 months of Rommie rep farming!

--Sphere space zones. Some of the found missions are bugged, but the scenery is AMAZING. I could fly around in there all day and never get bored.

--Getting Michael Dorn to do voice acting for the game. Dude, Worf is my HERO.

--The new Fed tutorial. I'm buying ZEN at high prices just to get another character slot to try that out. Anything is better than what we had (although I will say that kicking the living daylights out of the Borg at first level was fun).

    Ideas for your next update:

--Something to do with time travel--have the original Excelsior come through a time hole. Really, this is just an excuse to have George Takei do some voice acting, but you could build a whole FE series about it--the whole series could be about getting the Excelsior home before some dudes from the Temporal Cold War (the best part of ENT, IMHO) can destroy it.

--Absolutely anything that involves William Shatner doing voice acting. I think that he'd make a great Iconian overlord.

--Or just give us some Iconians to shoot. This could be a great, apocalyptic, future-of-our-galaxy story arc, with Patrick Stewart's voice work for that genuine TNG epic feel.

Whatever you guys do, I'm sure that I will spend two hours complaining about the flaws and then fall wholeheartedly in love with it as soon as you announce the bug fixes. Congratulations on making a truly great game, guys.

    Hey Rezking.
__There are currently 3 methods I know of to get STO without ARC.
__1. Steam. Install for free, use your login from here. Patch up overnight.
__2. Your retail CD, if you have one. Patch up overnight.
__3. The torrent link. This one is a bit complicated, but works bonzers.
____a. Get a torrent client installed. I recommend uTorrent.
____b. PWE have removed the torrent link from the STO download page. Go Here (All Hail Mr Peabody!): http://web.archive.org/web/20130511150622/http://sto.perfectworld.com/download
____c. IGNORE the prompt to download the installer/patcher. It'll force you to go to the main page and get the current, ARC version.
    ____d. Click 'Torrent Download.
    ____e. Download it.
____f. Install it. If it greys out the continue button, use Windows Enabler to re-enable the continue button. http://www.pendriveapps.com/windows-enabler-enable-grayed-out-buttons/

____You now have the October 2012 version of the game installed! And the file to reinstall whenever! Patch up overnight and you're golden.

People don't read patch notes. I still keep hearing 'Stay 5km away from Donatra' during the khitomer space STF. When informed that's old news they insist it isn't. So 15 minutes and 500 cloaks later ....... But I digress. is there some sort of core code that should be adjusted so every time a new episode comes out, I don't get rused into thinking I'm popular due to the ever-present blinking from my inbox?
