TRIBBLE Maintenance and Release Notes - November 4, 2013

We will be bringing down the Tribble server for maintenance to apply a new update: ST.35.20131029a.6

General:
  • Resolved an issue with clipping with the Romulan Neutral Female Uppers.
  • Resolved errors with color options on the Voth helmets and visors.
  • The Fleet Excelsior Retrofit hull windows no longer use the wrong model and windows are no longer floating.
  • The Voth Fortress ship hull can now be seen from a further distance.
  • Added a matte material variant to Caitian Atrox.
  • Added a matte material variant to Caitian Stalker.
  • Added a matte material variant to all Andorian ships.
  • Wintercoat belts have been taken out of the Formal wear category.
  • Resolved an issue that was disallowing captains from becoming a reviewer in the Foundry.
  • Resolved an issue where captains could only beam down to ground maps with 3 bridge officers.

Systems:
  • Buffs granted by Duty Officers proc powers no longer persist when the triggering power is unequipped.
  • Increased the energy credit value of Mk X, XI and XII ground gear.
    • Mk X gear had its energy credit value multiplied by 2.
    • Mk XI gear had its energy credit value multiplied by 4.
    • Mk XII gear had its energy credit value multiplied by 5.
    • This increase in value does not translate to increase in dilithium store cost for items within this Mk range.
  • Dyson Joint Command Reputation
    • Increased the Dyson Sphere Mark cost of equipment projects.
      • Ground set pieces now cost 500 up from 250.
      • Secondary space sets now cost 500 up from 300.
      • Space sets now cost 900 up from 450.
    • Increased the Energy Credit cost of secondary space set pieces from 12,000 to 30,000.
    • Increased the Dyson Sphere Mark cost on the hourly reputation XP project from 10 to 20.
    • Increased the Energy Credit cost on the hourly reputation XP project from 2000 to 7500.
    • Items awarded from Dyson Equipment Requisition boxes now sell for energy credits again.
  • Task Force Omega Reputation
    • Resolved an issue with Tier Upgrade projects that would repeatedly award a Defera Transwarp.
    • Captains should only receive notification of gaining a Defera Transwarp at Tier 1 Omega Task Force

Battlezone:
  • Resolved an issue where the Voth would no longer appear to re-capture points on a map that had been active for a few hours.
  • The UI bars for the REDACTED particles being drained from the REDACTED should no longer go above 100%, which caused it to vanish
  • The "fortress" Voth mechs that appear on capture points to push players off have had their respawn timer increased from 3 minutes to 12 minutes
  • Allied shuttles will fly in and land at REDACTED silos when they are taken by players.
  • Resolved the issue of low framerate problems throughout the zone.

Space Adventure Zone:
  • Captains must complete the Space Adventure zone tutorial mission "Supply Woes" before being able to obtain a found mission, neighborhood events, daily missions, and area missions.
    • Captains can only have 1 found mission at a time.
    • This applies to both the Allied and Contested zones.
  • The mission Mayday now has a waypoint.
  • Mission: "Assist Tactical Calibration"
    • Only 1 ship in need of calibration will spawn at a time.
    • A new randomly-chosen ship will spawn at one of the three positions for the mission after another is destroyed.
  • Mission: "Repair Damaged Ships"
    • Resolved an issue where the mission could not be completed.
  • Mission: "Restoring Order"
    • Interact cooldown is now 45 seconds
  • All Duty Officer Assignments in the Dyson Sphere Adventure Zone now have updated preview icons.
  • The missions Containment Failure, Taking Inventory, and Found Order now have a cooldown of 120 seconds.

Federation Tutorial:
  • Federation early Progression
    • Starting Federation characters now see their rank displayed as "Cadet" instead of "Ensign" until they receive their first Field Promotion to Lieutenant
    • The Kit rewarded to Engineers on Vega has been changed from Shield Fabrication to Mine Barrier.
    • Removed the extra Bridge Officer rewards from "Stranded in Space" since the new mission progression rewards you with a full bridge crew.
  • Resolved an issue on Starfleet Academy where the audio would cut out when walking between rooms.
  • All VO for cutscenes has been implemented.
  • Resolved numerous issues within cutscenes throughout the tutorial.

    I don't understand, why would you DOUBLE the dyson rep costs? This rep is supposed to be different, but this puts it close to the current reps.

    When does all of the long ago promised PVP upgrades get released, Cold? It's been quite a few years now, and we're all VERY excited to finally see all the content for PVP your boss promised us. I can even link the promises he and your co-workers have said if you like?

    Just out of curiosity. can we get another one of those wallpapers with all the icons of the starships again? We're in need of a MAJOR update. Save it for Season 8. I still have the LOR one on my laptop.

    As it was, it was pretty easy to get to T5 (granted, it was hyper-accelerated due to Tribb le being in "debug mode" - projects completing in 30s). But I LIKED that. The other reps feel too sluggish, even in the beginning.

    FEEDBACK - Revert these changes, please. We understand that you want reputations to be end-game stuff and a bit of a challenge, but making them twice as expensive and grindy isn't the way to do it. You're fixing what isn't broken - the Dyson rep was fine as it was.

    I'm potentially liking the new matte materials for Atrox and Kumari line, but the 900 marks for a single deflector/engine/core/shield and more are way too many.

    I was thinking I'd finally get something for my toons other than from the Omega Rep, but probably not with that price.
    TOIVA, Toi Vaxx, Toia Vix, Toveg, T'vritha, To Vrax: Bring in the Allegiance class.
    Toi'Va, Ti'vath, Toivia, Ty'Vris, Tia Vex, Toi'Virth: Add Tier 6 KDF Carrier and Raider.
    Tae'Va, T'Vaya, To'Var, Tevra, T'Vira, To'Vrak: Give us Asylums for Romulans.

    Don't make ARC mandatory! Keep it optional only!

    STO devs - Grinding is fun.
    Players - Grinding is boring.
    FaW+DEM+AtB in pvp = High score , no skill.

    Uhuh... so the idea behind all the new missions was that they would reward less marks due to the fact that less marks are required for the revamped reputation, yet despite all of this you increase the cost of all the new items to be more in-line with the current holodeck costs...

    Makes no sense. This just makes it a bit easier to level up the reputation, but makes grinding for equipment even worse than it is.

    I really hope the increase in the mark costs is not a result of people on Tribble having a lot of marks. This is from the space zone not spawning the boss fight and instead granting 10 DM every 1-2 minutes to everyone in the zone. Without that bug DM are not all that easy to come across, especially in the numbers you want us to use them in now.

    This also kind of shoots the usefulness of the 350 DM for 5 Commendations in the foot. It went from an expensive project I could see doing if I was not going to be able to play for awhile to a project I probably can't ever afford to use. 20 DM for 150xp is also probably more of a waste then I'll be able to afford to do. I'll need to keep every DM I can get in order to be able to afford any of the gear. And my thought of getting the space sets is kind of down the drain now that the cost has gone from 2250 to 4200 DM. Ground set went from cool, maybe I'll pick up a couple of this set to no thanks. 750 DM with the current rewards was doable but even with the bugs it took me a long time of sitting in the space map to get enough to pick up the ground set. If you fix the space map then picking up 1500 DM is probably going to take me a month of work.

    The change in the EC costs and values make even less sense to me. After the change the free item you get will be sellable for around 4500-9800EC. Its likely to average out to the cost of one of the 150xp projects, which is not bad. However you are dumping large amounts of EC into the system from every other part of the game. I get a lot of junk ground gear on Defera while I"m hunting marks, this is going to increase my EC from that by 3-4x.

    Increasing the DM mark cost of the 1h project change it from 20 to 40 DM to get the 2800xp. While its true that the total number of marks needed to cap is up to 1465 I can't really say that 150xp for 20DM feels like a good trade off. Getting 7.5xp per DM when I know I now need 1000s of DM for any of the sets will probably lead to my not bothering to do the 150xp project anymore, unless I end up with 5k DM or more somehow I'll just do the free project, level a bit slower then with the other reps, make a sponsership token and just level alts using the free project as well.

    EDIT: Oh and some consumables in the Dyson Rep might be nice. Only rep I see without some sort of consumable item to get.

    Congratulations, you just ruined the Reputation with increasing and doubling the costs at the same time.
    With such low mark gains from Missions and such it is even more grindier than all exisiting ones.
    Good luck on selling this as "an improved,better and new revamped reputation":rolleyes:

    Oh, btw. I think you can stop using REDACTED now and just call it by the name "Omega Particle"...

    If this is true, the devs are making bad adjustments. At least they're being proactive this time around. When Fleet Marks came out, you could farm 900 in an hour in Nukara for the first couple of weeks.

    Whatever happened to removing the distinction between Uniform/Off-Duty/Formal costume pieces so we could mix'n'match whatever (and also allow BOffs to wear non-uniform peices)?

    The Dyson TRIBBLE space set that is by far the worst set to come across this game was jacked up to almost 1k rep points LOL. After testing it for a long period of time it is so bad I would use the breen set over it if I had to choose something that was TRIBBLE but was better TRIBBLE than the dyson set. Yeah Cryptic good luck with the what 950 marks for something that is basically worse than what any player already has.

    Also yea gotta make sure those romulans don't have any clipping problems but KHG costumes still broken after a year now.

    Yeah a lot of hype but its kinda sad that such lengths are taken to try to get players to return just to get them more peeved off than they are already when the issues surrounding season 7 haven't been fixed or addressed.

    HA lol Hype + Less grindy = Sponsorship token - players seeing thru spun hype and seeing its just as grindy if not more = fail.

    So...what you've done is to take most of what was going to be great (and MUCH IMPROVED over the current Rep systems) about the Dyson Rep set-up, and which was hoped to be a model to be followed later by the other systems, and you've Crypticized it: i.e., made it expensive, require lots of inputs, and so on...all of which was supposed to be changing for the better. It was even demonstrated and talked about as such in the live Twitch event Bran did. Maybe you should go back and watch it...

    Why do you guys do this kind of stuff? I know that a lot of this was just for testing purposes (e.g., the "20-hour cooldown" taking minutes, etc.), but the fear is that, when this launches, it's just going to be ANOTHER grindfest, introducing yet ANOTHER currency (going back yet again on the early 2011 announcement of "we're just going to stay with credits, Dil, and Latinum" when we complained about too many currencies) - because since S6, EVERYTHING one can donate to a Starbase is a currency - and, in the end, not introducing anything progressive at all.

    You know before we were all looking forward to the reputation changes...

    Faster, less hassle, no where near as costly... We were even more excited by the possibility of the old reps getting updated to the new system...

    But now we're not just looking at a step backwards, we're looking at a transwarp class double somersault backwards...

    So you now make the hourly project cost more than even the Tier 5 version of the 800 XP projects on other reps, yet it only rewards 150 XP. Cutting the project from 300 XP to 150 XP was bad enough, this doubling of the mark requirements is unacceptable.

    I personally would be curious to hear their defense as to why they decided to double the costs for gear, cause ultimately this makes zero sense at all.

    If anything, if they are going to bump the cost of the 150 xp project, they should bump it to 300 per hour.

    At any rate, I'm not a fan of this move and it's going to make this another pile of gear that i wont bother with at all

    Edit: Oh and this patch includes the new intro.bik, and I've seen in the past that when we have to download that file, patching takes forever and a day

    What the REDACTED are you thinking Cryptic?

    You brag for weeks about how great the new reputation system is, how much less grind we'll have to do, how it'll cost us less, with the same reward, and you hope it's going to be the model of the future rep system (to come "soon")

    Then you REDACTED it up, by making it exactly the same as previous Rep systems. No not even that, but REDACTED more complicated by adding in EXTRA currency (or whatever you call it), and also my making it cost more with the small boosts, to get the exact same place you are with the other Rep systems.

    Well great new REDACTED system you got going there now Cryptic. Way to make it go from "this is REDACTED great, less grind" to a REDACTED grind fest... REDACTED again.

    I don't so much mind the increase to EC, not with the items in the boxes giving us EC now, that'll at least offset the EC cost. My problem is with the REDACTED mark increase.

    if anything they will lower the rewards now that they have increased the prices :( , was this new rep going to be easier/better than the older rep system ?
