New ship request Typhon class carrier (star trek invasion)

hey guys don't know if anyone else remembers but I think with the addition of carriers and carrier hybrid ships id put forward a suggestion to see the return of a ship I saw in my first star trek game I ever played , the typhon class battle carrier in star trek invasion.
heres the image to refresh the memories of any of you who rememeber this little dot in the star trek universe

    I guess my point is, do we really need another ship for the Federation that basically mirrors a ship that the KDF has, without giving the KDF new ships as well.

    At this point, lets be honest, if you can't already find somewhere in the Federation a ship that matches your playstyle, you're not looking hard enough.

    While your idea has merit, at this point, they just need to stop the Federation ship proliferation and give the KDF some love.

    Am I the only one who think this ship really look like the STO veteran Romulan ship ? Especially from ventral/dorsal view.

    As for the typhoon, we already have a ship class with this name in game, sharing a few similarities with this picture (nacelles mostly).

    There is a lot more material covering the Federation than there is Klingons or Romulans you know.
    Frankly... the Typhon looks like a flying box to me. The design just doesn't feel right for a Fed ship. Now if they were to introduce a carrier similar to the ones seen in Starfleet Command 2... then the Federation would have a proper full carrier (as in 2 hangers) to counter the KDF Vo'Quv with besides the Atrox.

    Cryptic would have to get permission from the IP holder of the Star Trek: Invasion game to be able to use this ship. The only ship that they did any real work to get the rights to do a specific ship that I know of is the Vesta since it appeared in the Star Trek novels.

    More fed ships? Now I got 2 fed characters, but good god feds have PLENTY of ships, I think the KDF and Romulan fleets could use some fleshing out first.

    Wait, we just got the Avenger.. who said the Typhon or Typhoon is coming in-game? I recall at some point the Typhoon was not going to be integrated into a playable ship....

    The devs have mentioned in December 2012's Ask Cryptic that they might implement the Typhoon when we get to Full Admiral. So it might be as a Tier 6 ship. However, they had no plans to make it a playable ship as of December 2012, but could be persuaded if there is enough support for it.

    You're talking about the Ark Royal, though I do like the look of the ship but in a lot of ways it's just like a over sized Chimera.

    Looks better than the Chimera though.

    Yes it does, but between looking like the Chimera and it being linked to SFC2 the odds of seeing it are slim to nil.

    But maybe they can pretty up the Typhoon, maybe give it a fleet skin that looks more like the Ark Royal, since the Typhoon as has quad nacelles.

    Doesn't conform to Starfleet designs or even Cryptic's interpretations of them.


    Also, the only Typhon starship I have room in my heart for is the Vasudan one from Descent: FreeSpace/2.

    Do we really need anther ship? That's the wrong question. STO isn't about being fair or balanced to the players, not in ship power or availability. The OP is asking for one of the more unique star trek ships, if anything i'd say it could very well be the first 3 or 4 fighter bay carrier. With a reduced weapon loadout of course.

    IF you want to ask a relevant question ask this: "if cryptic released a new KDF ship and half the KDF players got it, what fraction would that number be if they released another fed ship and a quarter of the fed players got it?"

    Its not fair at all, but I think Cryptic's opinion of how far they'll go for the KDF was made clear when they released the KDF V2.0, aka, the Roms, doing everything the KDF did but better with extra toys and fed stats... balance? What's that?:(

    I like this ship! Really nice...I hope to see it in game, because...well...I don't like any federation carrier. But this babe is amazing!
