Is there anything actually there to test for the time being?
Nope ... that's what makes this funny as all hell ... it's been clearly stated that season 8 update was not the reasoning for bringing down tribble but seems alot of people can't seem to read what was said

If there was any justice in the world, never. As a gold subscriber, I find it cheap when silver gets more and more access to the features that were selling points for me to continue paying after they launched the FTP model.

Limiting Tribble access to gold subscribers would reduce the number of players that would be testing, and thus more bugs may reach holodeck. The game already has it's share of bugs; reducing the amount of tribble testing would only make the number of bugs increase. I don't think that's in any of our best interests.
Will they have automatic level 50s you can create, because I don't want to start all over.
You can copy any characters you have on holodeck over to Tribble (or Redshirt) using the character copy.
Winning.
It's what I do. It's what I just did. It's what I'm about to do again. It's being undisputed emperor of an empire that cannot be disproved as the most powerful intergalactic empire in the entire universe; I always win, and everything I've won will definitely be won again... by me. It's my signature move, and thus, it's my signature. Problem, Sonic? Yeah, I mean you, Sonic, because you're being beat up, despite your being super. You can't even hit Shadow back, can you? Nope, he's too strong for you. Of course, I'm not Shadow, I'm the Super Emerald fueled fox that's pulling the strings; trust me, the fight would only be a few frames long if I were in it personally. Oh, and here's something for all you guys thinking you can win Last Post Wins 3.0; trust me, I'll be around a long while after the sun has already consumed the Earth while I sit out with the forum servers on Titan. Yes, I mean Titan... that comparatively little moon orbiting Saturn. It's a nice little place in a version of our solar system where the sun is a lot bigger. I mean, Mars will last longer than your precious Earth, but by then, it'll be one hot planet... and I figure Saturn's moon will be about the right temperate for a super-powered warlord. Oh, and trust me, I packed a lot of rings, and I mean a lot. Trillions, in fact, so I'll never run out of rings to power my super form. Besides, if I start to run out, I can just chaos control more rings into my reach. It's quite easy, really. You should try it. Granted, you'll never have the 7 Super Emeralds that I have in my possession, nor the Master Emerald that I've got hidden away somewhere... absorbed into my body thanks to Sonic logic, but whatever. I win. Again. I'm not kidding, either. Just check Last Post Wins, and if the last post isn't mine, it soon will be. Very, very soon. You can count on it. Seriously. By the way, if you're wondering, there's a really great Super Tails sprite sheet out there... somewhere... by some guy named shadow_91. These sprites are really great. Like, really good. Quality. Just like what I like to see in a sprite sheet. Also, credit to Joe T.E., his Sonic Battle style Super Sonic sprites have a great palette for a Super Sonic being beat up by Super Shadow, who's palette is from a Super Shadow sheet of unknown origin, but it turns out they were "borrowed" from a better sheet made by a certain Domenico. Oh, and the gif is actually a custom made super version of a similar gif, of which there are only 3 or 4 copies to be found by Google, and even then, evidently of an unknown source. Yep, it's one of those things. Stuff people have made, spread around, only for it to vanish and you to be the only person who still has a copy, not even knowing where it came from... like, literally at all. Oh, and anyone notice that Shadow's little chaos snap blast thingies are red and blue now? Yeah, I changed it. Problem, fans of purple? Yeah, I know you got a problem with that one, but you can just deal with it. After all, according to all known laws of aviation, there is no way a bee should be able to fly... alright, alright, I'll spare you the entire Bee Movie script, just Google it if you want. By the way, ever wonder how your characters would've ended up if they evolved in another universe? Yeah, that. Think about it. Ok, so you probably didn't bother reading up to here, but whatever, here's a surprise for you guys over at ESD (RP) who were crazy enough to read this: Emperor Nat of the mcfreakin' Terran Empire is gonna be right all along! The universe is gonna go BOOM! *Thumbs up to the insanity*
Oh, now don't tell me you want in on all this! Well, ok. Look this that Egg Pawn hanging outside your window, pointing his laser rifle at you, waiting for my next order. He's doing his part. He helps conquer the weak-minded. He roboticizes the weak-bodied. Heck, he even helps keep the useless people from causing any trouble, but you know what? Join. Find the closest Nataran Empire roboticization center near you and join the ranks, before the ranks find you. Oh, I know, you figure it must be so satisfying to know I basically rule the world now, and you know what? It is, but do you want to know the true definition of satisfaction? Well, let me tell you a little story. One day, you see a brand new event. They're giving out boxes that give old event stuff. Your dilithium is plentiful. You buy a whole lot of Phoenix packs on your main, and open them all. You get one epic token. Then, you decide, that since you have all the Breen ships and don't give a damn about the others, you exchange it for an ultra rare, and grab yourself a Jem'Hadar Attack Ship and for the hell of it, a Voth Bulwark. You open both, leaving the Bulwark in your vast masses of starships as you jump into the bugship and deck it out, deck by deck, into the most awesome Jem'Hadar ship you can. You fly it. You enjoy it. Eventually, you get bored and leave, leaving the old Bulwark never flown... until later. Your main is long complete. Your new alt main, based off some character you pulled out of nothing just to explain away some starship being in service without the command of your dear admiral, is also complete. Mostly. Their reps and doffs are hard at work, getting you stuff. You realize the potential, and head back for your dear admiral, pull the most Voth themed build you can out of thin air, and suit up in your giant ship in the shape of you know what. You head out... and cause all sorts of havoc. Enemies scream out your name as their very life is drained away by your swarms of Aceton Assimilators. They complain to the devs of your OPness when you revive yourself from death every time you die. Do you show any form of mercy? No. After all, this isn't the United Federation of Planets, this is mother frakkin' Starfleet, where you explore strange new worlds and kick butt never kicked before. Oh, and you realize that I just wrote another speech rivaling your own signature. Cool. Oh, wait, that's just the original draft, it is part of my signature now. Oh, and yes, I am aware that I have become a Canadian Regent; one day, sooner than you'd expect, we'll suddenly decide to take over the world and declare an "alliance", and I shall become it's Regent. You know, like the Klingon-Cardassian Alliance in the mirror universe of our beloved Star Trek. Oh, who'll we be taking over with? I dunno, maybe [REDACTED], or maybe aliens from outer space. Guess you'll have to wait and find out, won't we? Until then, don't ask too many questions, or else my Breen allies on Titania might pick up on your -- [REDACTED BY BREEN CONFEDERACY FOR REASONS] Also, psst... keep an eye out for flying Tribbles! Also walls. Big, great walls, separating entire continents apart. Walls patrolled by Tribbles. Flying Tribbles. Flying Nukara Tribbles. Don't worry, it's not like they were on Venus with a herd of Tholians or anything, they just like the extreme heat and brutal weather like acid rain and hurricane force winds as the norm. Oh, and definitely keep your eye out on any two-tailed foxes, because if they ain't glowing, they're definitely an imposter. Possibly an Undine, we caught one of those once in my place once. Oh, and if you find a two-tailed fox that doesn't like the cold... most certainly ask him to say sorry. If he refuses, DESTROY HIM WITH A DOOMSDAY MACHINE, BECAUSE THERE'S NOTHING ELSE THAT WOULD BE ENOUGH AGAINST SUCH AN OVERPOWERED IMPOSTER!
tr;dr, I am winning last post wins 3.0. Thank you for your time.

Like it or not, a lot, if not most, of the money earned by F2P games comes from players who do not subscribe - while they may not spend as much individually as a subscriber, there are almost always far more of them to go around.
Cryptic, like any business, must focus on the customers that give them the most money in order to succeed as a business.
If you still don't like it - and I understand if you don't - try to look at it this way:
By increasing the access of game features to free players, Cryptic
-Does not take anything away from subscribers
-Increases the likelihood of recruiting new free players and/or potential subscribers
-And, finally, increases the overall cash influx to the game, allowing for Cryptic to do more to make every player's experience better, regardless of subscription status.

I wish the devs would repoen the doors to Tribble for the silver members. All this stuff going into Tribble to test and the silver players can't.
Same here. It's nice that gold members are getting some exclusive content, but it just seems daft to reduce an already small population on tribble even further.
It's been horrible to run queue events or test fleet holdings on tribble as it is, simply because there are barely any players testing. My guess is that we're going to see even more bugged content in the future....
I don't think all of the season 8 content is available yet. For the life of me I can't find this dang Dyson Sphere so either it isn't there yet or I am an idiot because I can't find it.
Are you in a fleet on the Tribble server? If you're not, you're not going to be able to find it. It's a fleet holding, in case you didn't know.
I don't think all of the season 8 content is available yet. For the life of me I can't find this dang Dyson Sphere so either it isn't there yet or I am an idiot because I can't find it.
You're right. It's just preliminary stuff. However, even that doesn't bode well for Silvers.
TRIBBLE isn't a 'privilege' or a 'perk,' but a tool for players to help the Devs do their job. I want to help them, but right now they are the only thing preventing that.
For the love of all that is holy, I'm getting drunk on all the whine in this thread. Really people, can you hear yourself "I want to see season 8 now now now now now wwwhhhhaaaaaa" because because because well I don't know why but I'm a Silver and it's not even out yet, and it's not ready for stress test or full large scale test and WWWhhhaaaa...
Really people, most tests on most games are done with a small portion of the community first (in this case the small percentage of Golds who actually test on Tribble), then later as it gets more polished they bring in larger and larger groups of people to fix the bugs that the small population didn't find, then they stress test it with a HUGE group, and then release.
STO didn't do that really until LoR, and we all saw how well things were released even before LoR. LoR was, much smoother and much more balanced then before and even that was jacked up at launch (the D'd DS9 rift issue) even with all the Silvers testing.
So get off your entitlements, be a bit patient, let the frackin' season actually come to Tribble first before you go pouting and crying, and when they open it to the Silvers, then go in and test a slightly more polished version of the build then you would have as a Gold tester.

Although I agree with some of what you're saying, that being there hasn't been anything like enough stuff released to warrant any worthwhile testing yet, there are some things you've said that just don't sit right.
Firstly, you've said only golds test on tribble, as if they're the only ones that do it properly. Might surprise you but LoR was my first ever attempt at testing right. I submitted bug reports, tested gear, worked it all over in my head and guess what, I'm a silver. I tested like everyone else, and from that experience I'll be able to do better this time.
Secondly, of the bugs I reported, mostly by tickets but in the forums as well, I think it would be about 3-4 of the say getting on 12 I raised actually got fixed. The other stuff that I didn't consider bugs and gave feedback on like the flamethrower simply didn't seem to get listened to. So if you're saying we're somehow ironing it more bugs than get left, that isn't my experience.
Finally, and I don't want to sound accusing, but hasn't it occurred to anyone that just because you're gold it means better testers? I know of golds who come on tribble just to see stuff and not much else, same with silvers. I'm not saying either is better than the other, just you're going to get similar proportions of gold and silver who both test properly and don't.
Let me finish with a simple fact; we don't know who does better testing, only the dev's do. To be honest I think they only reason they close tribble like this is to test ships like the new FED one without it becoming wider knowledge something like that is coming. That's fair enough, no reason to get people's hopes up.
I learnt a lot from testing the waters of testing last time and look forward to doing an even better job this time. All I'm saying is this gold vs silver being better testers or not should just die a death.

I no longer do any Bug Hunting work for Cryptic. I may resume if a serious attempt to fix the game is made.
It has nothing to do with being better testers. It has everything to do with needing a small group of people to do the initial test, and since the amount of work it required in LoR to beta invite the original small group of people is probably time better spent in polishing season 8 when you already have a small group of players you can tap into (Gold Players) to do the original testing, why not use them.
But instead Silvers come in here, like they've been insulted personally over this travesty, because they don't get first crack at previewing, I mean testing, Season 8. It's nothing personal, they need a smaller group of people to alpha test Season 8, and they've decided to give the Alpha Test privilege to the people that pay a fee to play the game.
When it goes to Beta Test, Silvers will probably be invited to test it out just like everyone else, and then you can be the greatest testers ever.
But really, do you get upset every time you don't get picked for an Alpha Test in any game, because you're the greatest tester ever? I know I don't. Heck I don't even get mad if I don't get picked for Beta Testing in most games.

I am a bad tester, i never tested well, i am glad college was more papers and such and less tests. C is not always the best choice!
PvE Jem'Hadar motto:Participation Ribbonsare life.
star citizen is NOT "pay to test", it's a Buy to Play game that right now if you pledge which is basically a REALLY early pre-order (with perks), you also get an alpha and beta slot. There's absolutely no comparison with buy to play and pay to test to be made there, you can't buy just an alpha or beta test slot.

If I got the wrong end of the stick with your post I of course apologise, though you do seem to have got the wrong end of the stick with mine as well.
Because if you had read it right, or maybe I've not written it as well as I could, you'd see we actually generally agree with what's being said. I agree with you that people need to be patient because there isn't much there worth testing, and that golds and silvers have similar proportions of decent testers, which if that is what you think as well didn't come across in your original post.
This is the only game I play and have ever played in terms of mmo's so sorry if everyone finds the idea that arguing over such dumb things is stupid. All I'm saying is why argue over stuff when gold and silvers are no better than each other and stuff will be ready to test when it's ready to test?
Anyone think that's unreasonable to ask?

Can't say I'm overly impressed with the recent changes. I've tested every season since season 3, and spent far more money on c-store items than I'd care to admit. The only reason I'm not a subscriber at the moment is because my financial situation has changed and I can't afford it right now. Locking out Silver players is a big mistake, not only do you reduce the Tribble player population in turn making it harder to test queued content you run the risk of having even MORE bugs make it to Holodeck when it goes live. Once the open beta begins you only have days left leaving too little time to really make any substantial changes should something big be found (as they often are).
Also, it's a good thing to have high numbers of players on the server during testing. How many times have Cryptic released new content like a new Season or a FE series and the server grinds to a halt and dies. At least you'd have a chance to optimise the server prior to try and reduce disruption.

C is not always the best choice!
star citizen is NOT "pay to test", it's a Buy to Play game that right now if you pledge which is basically a REALLY early pre-order (with perks), you also get an alpha and beta slot.
Also, it's a good thing to have high numbers of players on the server during testing. How many times have Cryptic released new content like a new Season or a FE series and the server grinds to a halt and dies. At least you'd have a chance to optimise the server prior to try and reduce disruption.
