Zen to repackage lockbox ships

daedalus304daedalus304 Member Posts: 1,049 Arc User
I know this is a hard topic to talk about.

but what if we could pay 500 zen to repackage a Lockbox Ship?

Hell I'd love to put mine back in and give it to my romulan, seeing as the tal'shiar stuff doesn't sit well for me as a fed.

if not 500 then what would be a reasonable price?

Considering what some of you guys have given to get the ships in the first place, Cryptic should be paying you to keep it...

    (I am dead serious)
Don't look silly... Don't call it the "Z-Store/Zen Store"...
Let me put the rumors to rest: it's definitely still the C-Store (Cryptic Store) It just takes ZEN.

2500, your giving a character a "free pass" otherwise. That or a huge pay day for yourself. 2500 makes the most sense.
    Chive on and prosper, eh?

I support a repackage but not just lockbox ships. Risian Corvette and the Breen Chel Grett Warship to repackage and give to other characters someone has would be great. It would have to be at least 1000 Zen for them to consider it.

    Maybe 5,000.

Repack to keep it on the same toon i'd like, you can't buy enough ship slots to store all ships :(

This whole stupidity started when Cryptic went from account wide unlocked ships to per character unlocks. Profit wins over customer satisfaction every time but I welcome any solution to the OP's request.

i dont see why that not done it yet 500 zen to repack a ship send it to my rom but not to confuse ppl i am not asking to repack to resell it only to send it to another toon on my account same if i want to repack it again 500 zen maybe even a 1000 is more reasonable

I believe this was mentioned in a thread some time ago, and the general opinion there is that Cryptic wont do it, cause they'll lose income. At the moment if someone wants a lock box ship on each toon, they've got to spend the zen on lock box chance, or the energy credits through the exchange.

I think players should have the ability to box and move their ships though; just make the boxed back up versions account bound.

I think it should be repacked but remain account bound, so you can swap it between characters.

im not sure they should let us use the exchange. you bought it, you keep it. but for a small fee the ability to switch characters would be nice.

Just because someone can't move their lockbox ship to another character doesn't mean they would open boxes on that other character. I certainly haven't, and wouldn't. But I would buy a repackaging service to use one of my ships on an alt. And then I'd buy dil to gear that alt. How's that for losing income?

We don't want what the Feds have. We want the equivalent. We want fairer treatment. Concern, desire, greed to some extent, and passionate belief that the enough people would buy KDF items to make it worth Cryptic's while.

Because your position is not representative.

It wasn't meant to be, it was meant to demonstrate -- along with OP's proposition -- that demand for such a service exists and could well generate income instead of costing it. Only Cryptic has data to make further analysis based on how many lockboxes have been opened on different characters on the same account -- even such an analysis is not necessarily accurate, however, considering for instance that someone who has opened lockboxes on several characters may well have opened those boxes on one character as well.

Perhaps a similar service has been offered in one of PWE's other games that parallels can be drawn from. Nonetheless, none of us have the necessary information to do more than speculate here. What we, as customers, can do is voice our intent and demonstrate demand.

The recent changes to make lobi account bound suggest a service like this might be realistic if the demand exists. I am certain similar profitability arguments were used to argue keeping lobi character bound.

There is also something to be said for business practices that serve the customer and cultivate a positive relationship when it can be done reasonably with minor compromises -- happy customers are most often repeat customers.

lots of non forumites have been saying in game that they'd pay more than 1,500 zen per repackage.
