Thanks PWE/Cryptic. For the second time in the span of my playing STO, my entire fleet quit. Why? Well mostly because of the bugs and lack of customer complaints being fixed or corrected.
For the second time in 3 years, I had a fleet of strong players, we got to Tier 3, and they all decided that there are just better games and better companies running those games. I can't say that I blame them. Every PUG STF you find someone trolling the match. You report them, no consequences are given. You report a bug, nothing gets fixed. You contact customer service, you're told to go elsewhere by form letter. You guys are taking something as solid as Star Trek, where there will always be fans, and you're destroying it. How can you TRIBBLE up a game this badly? I'll tell you how. By not listening to your customers. When we complain about issues, we do so for a reason. We've identified a problem in the user experience and we expect that when we take the time to report it, that it will be addressed, not ignored.
So what to do now? I'm not starting another fleet. I guess, after the hundreds, if not thousands, I spent to support the game, I will reluctantly, need to find something else to do. STO isn't bleeding, they're hemorrhaging players by not correcting the user experience. There are too many bugs and a lack of expressed appreciation for those who report them by correcting the reported problems. How embarrassing that STO lost 50-60 people to flash based Dark Orbit because their game works.

Well, sorry to hear that bro... but I have my doubts that you had a fleet of 50-60 ACTIVE players who suddenly quit, all around the same time.
Either way, have fun with whatever you head off to do. I'll continue to enjoy my experience in Star Trek Online.
Also, an obligitary question to anyone who makes an "I Quit" thread (which is what this boils down to). Can I have your stuff?
Thanks.

So you are saying that you had 50-60 "strong" players and they ALL quit to go play this other game? So they are not playing STO anymore - or are not contributing to the fleet?
P.s. If you don't want this thread closed - you should modifiy it to indicate that you are staying and looking for feedback - rather than just posting a rant like "I quit" thread - if infact this is not an I quit thread?
Isn't Dark Orbit the game that came off even worse than STO in that cracked.com roast?
"Participation in PVP-related activities is so low on an hourly, daily, weekly, and monthly basis that we could in fact just completely take it out of STO and it would not impact the overall number of people [who] log in to the game and play in any significant way." -Gozer, Cryptic PvP Dev
The persistent bugs can be discouraging. I've been surprised to see my fleet thrive, though. We're close to getting a Tier 4 starbase, and we've completed the embassy. Projects get their fleet marks filled up so fast that I usually don't have the opportunity to contribute them. Our roster has been brimming with active players for a long time now.
I guess it helps that we cater to a good niche. The fleet is for former CoH players. Ironically, the super groups that I joined when I was playing CoH all dried up quickly, including the super groups set up specifically for forum members.

Something reeks of bodily excrements. I've been around the blocks with fleets that are larger than that one, and 50-60 people don't just up and quit unless all 50-60 of them are an INCREDIBLY tightly knit group or their fleet leader was incompetent and/or cheating them.
Plus if you had 50-60 active fleet members, why are you pugging STFs? My current fleets active size, going by your numbers is half yours, and we're a T5 SB with T3 Embassy and Dil Mine, and we RARELY pug STFs, and even then if we pug it, the ones we bring are enough to carry even the worst of pugs.
Bugs, yea i admit there are bugs, but I havent come across any that I would call gamebreaking. Plus fixing those bugs isnt exactly a snap of the finger. Tho there have been some that have been around a long time that still havent been fixed, but some of those are so minor.
Customer Service: I can't speak on STO directly. I did have to contact Perfect World Customer Service for another game, but they took care of me in a relative quick time frame. But like I said not with STO directly, so take it at face value.
To me sounds like you didn't get what you wanted and your fleet collectively abandoned you, now you're here complaining.
2) Hopelessly addicted members. Or die-hard star trek gamer fans...
Without these two elements, your fleet is doomed!
I fall under the category of die hard star trek gamer. I don't play TRIBBLE games like star trek the movie game, but it takes a lot to TRIBBLE up a star trek game. Cryptic has tons of room for improvement but this game isn't exactly bad either. Lois Lane Stahl needs to get over his escort fetish and make ships of the line the beasts they should be. It's ok Stahl, everyone has a fetish they think they're hopelessly addicted to, mine was, well I'm not going to go there since there are children on this forum.

STO was #4. 3d Sexville 2 was #3. Eve Online was #2, and Guns Bro was #1.
STO is about my Liberated Borg Federation Captain with his Breen 1st Officer, Jem'Hadar Tactical Officer, Liberated Borg Engineering Officer, Android Ops Officer, Photonic Science Officer, Gorn Science Officer, and Reman Medical Officer jumping into their Jem'Hadar Carrier and flying off to do missions for the new Romulan Empire. But for some players allowing a T5 Connie to be used breaks the canon in the game.
If this is the second time all of your fleetmates left you alone in game........Have you considered bathing? Or not insulting their mothers over TeamSpeak?

Hahaha. . .cruisers are already beasts, if you actually know what heck you're doing. They're also getting these cruiser command auras. You just want things to be unbalanced in the favor of cruisers, making them as nimble as escorts while having the high hull and shield mods and dual cannons. . .and despite what a lot of ignorant fools think, the escorts don't have THAT much of an edge.

Some times the fleet just dies off. I been in 2 already that has done that. One most just left so only like 10 or so was left. And it was about 40 strong. The other I guess the leave and come back later? Cause their roster is about 100 strong, but nothing is getting done on the fleet projects. Or either that, they gave up on the projects but still play.

Well Dark Orbit might work, but so does Gradius or R-Type or any other 2d Nintendo or Atari space shooters and even those games are more complex then Dark orbit. I find it hard to believe that your entire fleet supposedly quit STO all at once for a game like that.
Every PUG STF you find someone trolling the match. You report them, no consequences are given.
A 50-60 people fleet, and you still pug ? Have you tried doing it amongst yourselves, or using the various STF chan ? You know, just like any other fleet do....

Oh yeah, because Dark Orbit is so much better
Nice joke

I assumed they were counting down from 6 to 1. Thus #1 was the worst offending game on the list. So Dark Orbits was least offending at #5 then STO was at #4.

Uh, anything I have is NOT something you want lol I think you forget that anything worth having is bound on pick up. Well, most of the stuff worth having. So a bunch of batteries and things you can get yourself I'm sure.
As for the numbers of my fleet...the first being Shadow Guardians (which only had about 15 fully active members) died off as the typical slow die off. But Valor Empire, in our prime, was over 300 players and 50-60 hardcore, fulltime, active members of which we utilized TS3 for out coordinated efforts. And of those 50-60, about 20 are lifetime players like myself. But no, it wasn't overnight. The bugs that flared during LoR's launch is what started the hemorrhage. Several guys got fed up and moved on. Between May and now, I have me and 1 other active member (who I have promoted to leader) and we are discussing what we're going to do.
I speak with the core group still as they all still play, but they're all on Eve or Dark Orbit vowing never to return to STO until the bugs are worked out. Anyone who had played STO for a while now knows that this means they probably won't return. These are guys who I've met in person, most live here in the states, are avid Trekkies (like myself and I hate that term) and typically watch TOS and DS9 while playing. Even now they watch while playing other games. They simply are fed up with this nonsense of ignoring our comments suggestions and bug reports and not fixing anything.
Even now, I have 2 responses in my account from GM Siddion or whatever he calls himself stating that they know about the issue I reported about the accolade system (15 months ago) and they are still "investigating" lol whatever! Just now I logged in and see the NPC that takes epohh's and assigns the tagging assignment is just gone. No word from cryptic/PWE and no word when or if she'll return.
So no, it took some time before people realized that they aren't in the habit of fixing things, and the rate occasion when something is fixed, it's not timely, and they got fed up as we reached 1/2 way to tier 4 and now I have a dead fleet and friends who play other games.
Sorry guy, but complaining about it in Star Troll General is not getting you anything but to feel how actually alone you are here. Welcome to the true face of MMOs. Advice: hold with your friends you've made in the fleet and that'll be enough. Also, is healthy for any non-hardcore-trek-omgcrypticthebest-rp-brainwashed guild to play another games too.
Well, anything but that stupid german mini game from bugpoint. Those from your fleet playing Dark Orbit and enjoying it, i'd delete them from my friend list and call the police.
Just now I logged in and see the NPC that takes epohh's and assigns the tagging assignment is just gone. No word from cryptic/PWE and no word when or if she'll return.
Just went in-game and noticed this as well. I've let the team know to track her down.
Sorry for the inconvenience, and we'll work to resolve this.
Cheers,
Brandon =/\=
As for my last question, you didn't answered. Why did you keep doing PUG (and then blame cryptic for the trolls there), while you had 60people in your fleet and several STF channels ?
