Well, I've already quit the game once. I've only been back for about 2 weeks now. Trying to shake off the rust. I manage to put out the damage but I've got to adjust to all of this root/stun spam that everyone seems to throw around these days... even the noob pugs.

I wont even begin to go into what all is wrong with ground pvp as, I would be typing for hours and hours... But, what I will say is it has nothing to do with people running premades. Yes, I have toons in some of the major ground fleets.. but, I am first and foremost a "pugger". Even with the rust and the adapting to all of the stun/roots I still manage to put off enough of a fight to hold my own.

The reasons ground is so small, is because people come in and decide to spawn camp the new pugs. I'm sorry but, if you sit there and spawn these new ground players you aren't teaching them anything except how to die without even being able to really protect themselves. I will say that the major ground pvp fleets have found it popular to spawn camp and it has proved to destroy ground and all ground fleets are starting to shrink because new players aren't coming in as much as they used to. Eventually if the ground community fleets set a moral standard we might see the ground community rise up again with time and these old ground fleets revive as well. I myself always call out the major fleets for doing this.

Another problem is and the most significant, in which I said I wouldn't go into depth in, is the incredibly screwed up exploits. First off... T3 nukara rep should be ripped out completely. Its an abomination to ground. In its place add a resistance buff. The omega gun should lose its immobilize proc and have a simple added root and fix its proc rate to the correct numbers. Willpower should resist more than it does as its almost worthless. Phaser proc, which BTW is screwed up, should be fixed and a resistance to stun should be added. And might I add that the kits and doffs should be highly looked into as there are some that are very OP. I wont mention which kits or which doffs as thats all we need is more people using exploits.

This would take care of over half of the problems in ground. Half of that is on the players and the other half is on the game devs. If you want to see the ground community grow and flourish you should try to force the above to happen.

"Working as intended"... 1 year later they "fix" it.

Anyone that has ever played any other MMO EVER. Can see the STO ground in general is a joke... both PvP and PvE.

Why would you torture yourself trying to PvP in STO... there are quite a few better options out there, even other f2p options. So there is no excuse if your still thinking the idea of the Kit and weapn 1 /2 and melee strike is ever going to be engaging.

Go play a real ground game... play STO for the space combat which so far no one has done better... sadly.

I was never too fond of STO's ground PVP. I remember trying it when STO released. One word summed up the issues back then.

Personally I thought SOE did it better with SWG's space game. That was real twitch fighter combat with full XYZ axis and momentum and all that. You actually NEEDED a joystick to be competitive, a mouse didnt cut it.

STO reminds me of a submarine sim

    majortiraomega,

How does your rating work for the Borg Medical Analysist (I think that is it's name, not in game to confirm)? The one that Sacrifices the AOE heal for the Cone shield Damage.

Science Kit - Borg Medical Analyzer
Strong against: Fabrication Specialist, Equipment Technician, Security Protocols
Equal against: Operative, Enemy Neutralization, Analyst, Medic
    Weak against: Fire Team, Physicist

Tachyon Harmonics is going to make you stronger against engineers and non-fire team Tactical officers. The lost of Triage will remove your ability to negate the majority of the damage resistance from suppressing fire + Fire On My Mark, making you very vulnerable to heavy fire team spike damage. Without Triage you will also be more vulnerable when facing Physicists.

Edit: I forgot to include Medic in the list.

Of those fleets, Federation Emergency Services and Hammer Squadron are "allied", running joint premades in the queues. I've heard a lot about some Otha ground daily war between Klingon Imperial Guard and Federation Emergency Services/Hammer Squadron that's taking place for some reason. At least that keeps FES/Hammer out of the queues, they always vanish when us pugs manage to get organized and beat them in a single game.

The allied channel includes more than just FES and Hammer. I know because I was in it when it began, and it is why I struck out on my own along with many others. That is also how the Terran Assault Division came to be. It is an abomination and the players seem to believe they are some special stock. FES is buying these other fleets with promise of protection from the grudge matches and a place in the boot camps IMO. It's a corrupt coupling of elitist who would rather see the Q barren than populated by players enjoying themselves.

I agree there are a lot of things that are not in line in ground pvp. But that is how it is for this season. So, we all have the same shot at playing in the same guidelines. On a side note, everyone does understand that this is just a game right?

When we go in it is not to kill the qs, spawn camp the newbs or make you smash your keyboard. We go in to work on teamwork..try something new. We do run with FES. Both fleets work well together.

You do realize that people can be friends in game if they aren't in the same fleet right?

In closing, its a MMO.....enough said

Dose anyone remember when 'Evil Mirror FES shut down the Q"? That alone was a declaration of what an unsportsman-like attitude these people have and their apathy towards their negative impact on the community. It is bad enough we have entire fleets of kit stackers and broken cheese flinging primates but to top it all off it is obvious that the ruling class has mischief on their mind when it comes to how they can impact the community. I have spoken with a founder of a fleet that will not be named, but he admitted to encouraging using broken abilities and exploitive tactics as a way to "raise community awareness"... If you believe that then I have a bridge in Brooklyn to sell you.

To solve it all we simply need a random button. A Q for random pvp game mode and teaming.
I play both space and ground. It would be nice to turn the tables on some of these guys and catch them with their pants down in space.

Hmm I don't recall them having much successes at shutting the q down during that event. When I did this game's ground pvp and was with hammer I have screenshots that tell a different story :) of how that event played out. I am pretty sure fs has a different interpretation of how that event turned out for them too :P

But the only way to skip the q is once again to found a tyler durden channel for ground pvp. Newbies don't have to worry about get roflstomped as matches will be balanced as they do in the space version.

Yes, I was involved in posting screen shots of their losses to Hammer as well during that campaign.

Your arrogance and lies made me laugh just enough to hit my keyboard, due to your foolishness.

Imagine if you were making a premade against pugs who were interested in learning Ground PvP, then you crush them, and what comment they have? ''Phew, Ground PvP is utterly unstable, I don't wanna play it''.

Yes, you do run with FES. Now here's my next question. Instead of crushing queues with your gear skilled-wise players, why don't you challenge someone else as in premade, and have some fun?

In closing, it is a MMO where you can not have fun when you're there, unless if KIG/TAD (Our fleet), germany, or someone else make a premade to challenge you. Enough said, Doc. Go kiss FES for me.

I remember about Otha wars between our fleet and yours... who won? ))))))))))))))))))))))))))
There are several ground PvP fleets at the moment. -FS-, Federation Emergency Services, Hammer Squadron, ACME, Tip of the Spear, 1st Starfleet Germany, Explorer's Fury, Klingon Imperial Guard (KDF fleet)/Terran Assault Division (FED version), and once upon a time Federation Defense Force also went ground.

As for the other fleets, 1st Starfleet Germany usually runs a few premades every day. It's fairly enjoyable to fight if the team gets at least two other ground PvP regulars. -FS- typically throws together premades on the weekends in order to help the PUGs push FES/Hammer out of the queues. After losing a match or two to a -FS- premade, those of us that PUG usually don't need to worry about FES/Hammer premades anymore, as they tend to wait out -FS- before reentering the queues. I've seen Klingon Imperial Guard/Terran Assault Division run a few three man teams recently, but nothing major as far as I can tell. Explorer's Fury, ACME, and Tip of the Spear usually queue up solo, or they run in three mans. I haven't seen Federation Defense Force queue in months.

Thank you for mentioning about our Otha daily wars against FES, though personally, it makes us all headaches when we're winning against FES on Otha 9-2 ))

Also our premades and FES' are pretty even, and it's very nervous. FES is a worthy opponent, Hammer is worthy FES' slave )

So... More pvp insane fleet politics. Greeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat!!!

It's pretty simple really. Federation Emergency Services and Hammer Squadron are "allied", they don't like -FS- or Klingon Imperial Guard, and most players dislike FES/Hammer. It appears that KIG and FES/Hammer are having a forum PvP match here in this thread. I know the servers are down, but try to keep this on Otha, alright? Right now you are giving the Space PvPers more reasons to avoid Ground PvP.

They have to accept it. Even though I said it now, even without my statement, they'd have realized sooner or later you have to join one party or the other party. It's a basic war like between Croatians and Serbians deciding over is Nikola Tesla serbian or croatian or half. Also like the conflict between craotians and serbians over Nikola Tesla, this one also will last long. People have to accept it.

Is this a ground or space ability? In space it says +1200 health every 2 secs for 20 secs but when your toon is on the ground it says +25 every 2 secs for 20 secs and the description doesn't specify if it's a ground ability or a space ability.
