I don't have the link handy but pictures from tribble have been shown that a Battlecruiser can also equip the cloaking device that comes with the Tactical Escort Retrofit and the Dreadnought Cruiser.
The Question players should be asking is...Will it come with the cloak console, or is that sold separately with the Defiant, or Galaxy X, and will it have it's own unique console.

It will probably be a unique console, like the Odyssey saucer sep one is to the Galaxy...
I think it will be the Federation Engineers equivalent to the Science' Vesta Class... So a true Tactical orientated Engineering Ship. So I also then think it will have the exact same Engineering Equivalent BOff seating to the Vesta. I.e. Instead Cmd Sci, it will be Cmd Eng etc.
In summary I think and/or hope...
- An Engineering Equivalent to the Science' Vesta
What do you guys think?
I think that is unlikely because that is the BOff layout of the Odyssey.
I wonder if this ship will have a universal commander seat.
This is the first Fed battlecruiser, but it's not the first battlecruiser, and all of the BCs in the game have a Commander Engineer. They're tactically-oriented cruisers first.
I think this will have a boff layout similar to the KDF Tor'kaht. Probably similar specs and performance as well.

That would basically be an Assault Cruiser Refit Retrofit.

With one more tactical ability, much higher turn rate, lower hull strength, dual cannons, and a cloak, sure, apart from those things it would "just" be an assault cruiser.
And smaller, too. The Avenger is roughly Excelsior-sized.
From the back, the hull looks like one of the Vesta variants. It seems pointless for it to not have a hangar with that big launch pad on it and BranFlakes has said it will not have a hangar so I would guess that it will have two hangars. The Deflector looks like the cartridge slot for the N64. Does that mean the special ability will be a green mushroom 1up power that can be used to revive you after you die without it counting as a death in PvP? :P
I have only seen the one screenshot at the official STO screenshot gallery.
Where do you have that information from?
Are there more pictures?
EDIT:
Oh, forget it.
Regarding the hangars, i HOPE it won't be another carrier/something, there are enough of them already in STO.

Yeah, that deflector really looks too much cryptic-ized for my taste.
Their ship designers shouldn't make Starfleet ships so angular.

Branflakes did tell somebody who bet it would have a hangar they'd lose the bet. Looks like we'll get a short break from the carriers before the FE gives us all one.

I pegged it around the same size as that poster, but the caveat is that the estimate is based on the window lines, and Cryptic is gloriously inconsistent with window lines.
From the Screenshot pic, I don't care for the overall design. I'll need to see a few more overall shots to really get a good feel for it.
But between my GF's first reaction of the screenshot pic and my relooking at Brandon's twitter pic of the deflector dish, I think I have a name for the Avenger: The Remote Control !!!
I know it's late and we're both a bit strung out, but it just came to mind and I think it works.
Thank you for the time...

Cryptic, would you actulaly like me to spend actual Money? It's Simple:
Full, Story-driven, select from start 1-50 Klingon Side
Scrap current Lock Box & Lobi system for something more reasonable
Expand Dil and Rep/Fleet Marks to regular story content
Here is what I know about the new Avenger Class and my guesses for its abilities...
Brandon has confirmed it will not be a 3 Pack, so no other looks / skins. I Tweeted to Brandon about no 3 piece set then and he replied to wait to hear about its abilities; I don't think we'll be disappointed... *He is such a tease!* lol
So, I think we all know there will be a Fleet version either straight away or shortly after; either way in order for Cryptic to make their money you'll have to purchase the normal C-Store version first to unlock it and then have a Fleet Ship Module or few and the appropriate tier Fleet Ship Yard (thank god my fleet is T5 :-)).
We can also be 99% sure it will have a cloak with the update to Fed Cloaking Device description on Tribble... So not a Battle Cloak, which is cool, but an distinguishing feature all the same.
Also Brandon Tweet leaked about an email from Al Geko talking about Cruiser Comm Arrays, so will this ship be the first to feature this item. If not it is a cruiser so will feature this item slot in the future. (Science ships are supposed to be getting secondary Deflector slots, but no leak of what Escorts might get, probably secondary Impulse Engines).
It will most certainly be able to fit all weapon types... It would be cool if it came with its own type like the Andorian Phasers. Or may come will a single unique weapon like the Chroniton DBB.
Saucer Seperation? I am not sure as I cannot see where it would split from the screen shot.
Maybe a Console which alters the ship' mode (between Tactical and Engineering) and even has animation! I would like this... JamJamZ has said he would like to work animation into all their new original designs.
Or will the ship have a secondary hull console / slot with a special ability?
In summary I think and/or hope...
- An Engineering Equivalent to the Science' Vesta
- Special Weapon(s) (single or group of)
- An Ability fired from the Deflector
- Console altering the mode of the ship and possible animation
- Secondary Hull console / item with ability
- Oh and she'll be able to cloak
Speaking of cloak console, wonder why they made it cloakable? Because there is no real purpose for cloaking in STO except for a 5 second boost to offense and defense.
And I still honestly feel that this new ship is going to take away from the Galaxy-X and make her obsolete, just like how the Odyssey did to the Galaxy.

Let's be realistic here. All Cruisers were made obsolete when the Excelsior was released with Season 2 back in 2010. From that point there was no real reason to have a Galaxy R, Galaxy X, or Sovereign in a game where the end-game rewards were entirely centered on DPS.
STO is about my Liberated Borg Federation Captain with his Breen 1st Officer, Jem'Hadar Tactical Officer, Liberated Borg Engineering Officer, Android Ops Officer, Photonic Science Officer, Gorn Science Officer, and Reman Medical Officer jumping into their Jem'Hadar Carrier and flying off to do missions for the new Romulan Empire. But for some players allowing a T5 Connie to be used breaks the canon in the game.

That is true. STO has become entirely too much DPS Focused to the point Cryptic is trivializing their own content. It's actually becoming standard that groups won't let you in, unless you are in the 10k DPS club.
I honestly blame Cryptic for endorsing that DPS Tracker and not controlling their power creep.

Galaxy X is not obsolete in comparison to the Excelsior because the Galaxy X can do thing Excelsior can't and that is equip Dual Heavy Cannons. If this new ship can cloak and use Dual Heavy Cannons it would end up making the Galaxy X no longer be a unique Starfleet Cruiser.

Um, correct me if I'm wrong but don't some of the events now care as much about HpS and DpS?

I guess the solution is to never use it .
Does that mean this ship will have less features as a result? PLEASE SAY NO!
I hope STO get's better ...
Watch it have the hollow saucer-section too.
It will probably be a unique console, like the Odyssey saucer sep one is to the Galaxy...
Or...
Dare I say it could be built in!
So we have the other villain ship from JJverse. :P
"Last Engage! Magical Girl Origami-san" is in print! Now with three times more rainbows.
Support the "Armored Unicorn" vehicle initiative today!
Thanks for Harajuku. Now let's get a real "Magical Girl" costume!
I doubt its built in since the new BC is listed on the fed cloak console.
R.I.P
Its personal preference , as many people will like the ships design as dislike it , suggesting the design team is at fault is a little silly tbh

My guess about the ships stats is just that, a guess, based on other "battlecruisers" in the game.
The fact that it's roughly Excelsior-sized comes from Jamjamz, who said so in an in-game chat channel.
