Really PWE? get with the 21st century

I was haveing big issues, so a couple weeksago i uninstalled and got forced into your ARC laoder TRIBBLE. todays patch i get a "file locked" error.
so i uninstall (again) and start reloading. @ 35% i lose server coonnectiona and it restarts FROOM ZERO are you KIDDING ME? how f*****G HARD IT IS TO HAVE A RESUME ON THE DOWNLOAD???

    It does resume but it doesn't always show it resuming from that exact percent since the other stuff already downloaded it doesn't always show up.

    Now you know why I absolutely, categorically, and in all other ways refuse to use Arc. Use Steam or the standalone installer. Maybe if enough of us refuse to use Arc PWE will stop trying to ram it down our throats.

    And as long as I'm dreaming, I'd like my profs to forget about next week's exams.

    I went through this, thought it wasn't resuming, until I noticed that the total size of the download was getting smaller each time. It seems the percentage only takes into account the current transfer, and disregards whatever you had downloaded in a previous session, but it IS resuming.

    this is exactly what it is...

    happened to me a couple times when there were long patches that slowed to nothing and had to restart the patcher

    i cant seem to start a thread to ask this question and there dosnt seem to be a tread telling me this

    but after getting to over 32gigs for a brand new instal and the progress bar being stuck at 82.2% for 10 hours i had to stop the download..

    does anyone know how big the download the dl is with all the patches for a new install on ark?

    cause right now this seems crazy big and eating up all my bandwidth limit for the month if this keeps up.. all the help files say i need about 15 gig of hd room so this current size seems really out of that limit

    is there a link to just direct dl the game and its pathes so i can see what the size of all this is?

    Using Arc is still an option if you choose to use it to play STO. You can play via Steam. I personally enjoy Arc. I have had no issues with it. When branflakes first announced it back in May I tried it straight away and have used it ever since.

    I know I am in the minority of those liking it, but I have found that downloading and installing STO was so much faster than before, and launching STO is way quicker too. Plus when it comes to patching I have not encountered any issues with patching I have read others have been having.

    I'm not even thinking about using ARC.

    I've been using the stand alone STO runner since the game launched and have no intention to ever switch to ARC.

    Sadly I've been having problems patching STO, for the past 2 days now I've been stuck at 60% with the latest patch.

    I restart and it gets to 60% and locks up.

    I've been letting the patch run but it seems like I'm only getting about 1 meg per hour or something.

    I've tried using patch via proxy and get the same results :(

    the lag as improved for me now it is just randomly disconnecting...bran said our isps but all of europe use different isps (sorry i read the post wrong from his previous post on another thread) i think its somewhere in the middle basically on towards the servers in america thats causing problems some mention cogent as the issue

    Im pretty sure the ark dl of the sto is screwed tried 3 times and all 3 times no joy it just seems to endlessly dl something the funny thing is i had no problem with ark and the other games i play oh well i guess sto is a write off then since no one is able to answer the question

    so im up to 52gig for supposed patching this cant possibly be right? ark dler has shat its self right
