This problem I'm having which seems to be affecting all the games STO and NW I attempted to login.

EDIT:
(NW)(STO)(CO) Unable to Authenticate

Why am I getting an "unable to authenticate" error message?
If you are seeing this message, it means the servers are down. Please check the official forums for more information.
I guess since we can get on the forums, they must mean the authentication server for holodeck. oh wells.
So... many of us Forumites had the issue several weeks ago where Verizon had their issues with another provider, and it resulted in a chunk of the player base being unable to play. Instead, they would receive the message 'Unable to Authenticate."
Well, looks like it's back... or some similar issue, for me. I was playing STO earlier, attempted to switch characters and timed out. Promptly thereafter, I could not login at all. I closed STO, and brought up the launcher, only to be met with the "Unable to Authenticate" message... again and again... and again.
So... has Verizon decided to renew it's war against Cogent? We certainly have Verizon at this household... so I suppose it would make sense if it was true.
Anything Cryptic or other players can offer as a solution would be much appreciated. No, I will not buy a separate service (Proxy) to play STO. That's out of the question currently.
Thanks in advance.

Everywhere I look, people are screaming about how bad Cryptic is.
What's my position?
That people should know what they're screaming about!

Just decided to log-in and claim my dilithium quota for the day and getting that "unable to authenticate" error. I think the ghost of H2Orat is causing a DDoS.
Game froze on "change character" attempt, unable to authenticate since then. 5 or maybe 10 minutes ago.
It affects all STO servers since the choice between holo/tribble/redshirt is possible after authentication.

Bran's response was so fast it was almost too fast...you don't think he works for the Temporal-- nah, the Vulcan Science Directorate has deemed time travel to be impossible. Obviously.

So, does Cryptic get a bulk discount on server hamsters?
