A well known one-trick alpha pony kept trying to one shot me in Kerrat and when he would fail and I started to pound on him he would cloak and run right before blowing up. So when he came back with a buddy to try to double team the alpha I would log on them as soon as I would hear them power up. They didnt like the taste of thier own medicine.
Evasive maneuvers + APO + Stealth speccing + Rhode Island Console + Subspace Wake (Corvette) + EPtE and/or Impulse Capacitance Cell= almost perfect getaway!
(The trick here is to use it before the Black Poo gets you, and make them target your decoy instead. By the time the short MES expires, you will be long gone. Like 'edge of the map' gone.)
If you still can't escape while using all of that, I have two things to say:
1. Just go ahead and log off. No one can say you didn't try.
2. Something is seriously wrong with the Black Poo console. It borders on the, *gulp*, over-powered!

......This is an example of an unjustified log. Logging just because you can't defend against a couple of alpha strikes? Really?

The purpose was to grief the griefer. I was in a corvette and he would wait until I would start to farm to strike. I would use APO or Evasive or the Corvette console and bolt. He would PM trash talk for running, So I would stay and fight and he would battle cloak and run. This went back and forth until he got a second BOP to help. He was so intent on getting me that he brought in a buddy beacuse he couldent do it on his own or couldent catch me. So to still deny him the kill by logging was too funny. I feel no guilt.

lol I find it funny to, glad I never have problems with corvettes on my own

It is not griefing someone to try to kill them in a PvP zone. It's called "playing STO."

a guy (ask in opvp who) got a warn for "harrasment".He killed a kdf in kerrat few times ,so if the idiot with GM powers thinks thats griefing then its griefing and you cant do nothing about it.
attack pattern logout III is the counter to all the p2w sheet they put in game.ERPers always said "this broken op item is fine pvp'ers cant adapt" ....when pvp'ers adapt then all the erp'ing community starts QQing about how they adapt.
and this attitude is why some people log off when near dead.
also, when 5 vs 1 happens, logging off isnt a crime either, 5 vs 1 clearly states that those 5 people need to play what you say? candy crush and such, because they can only when with spam, new console cheese, and spamming known broken abbility's ( theta/ewp not rendering for example) and, yes i would log offf any time when someone thinks he can pull that trick off on me.you dont like it, go play candy crush youreself, so you dont encounter people who log off when they get cheesed.
and yes, the game is unstable lately, a lot of no responding errors and critical errors ( those where it kicks you back to youre main desktop screen, without any notification of what the hell happend) and still not a solution in sight.....
sorry if some people pvp alone, but i going in with a team, and the 5v1 has happened to me in the past, i still don't log, it is a game people, grow up, and no one should be exploiting to win, .......ps team work is not an exploit
the game just crashed mid match, thats a first for me. mostly just crashes on map transfers. it crashed wile i got black death consol'ed too. it might have looked like i loged, but i really didnt
I had the game not only crash but force restart my comp six matches in a row today. I've notice about every four or five patches this problem is present. It seems to be related to a memory leak from a graphic overload, almost always involving some newer graphic in the game. I have not however been able to directly connect it to the elachi console, which is surprising to me. I've also noticed a lot of my fleeties complaining about crashes lately and really bad lag.
It may actually seem like people are logging to avoid death when this happens since the game still renders you for a few moments after the crash. I've managed to crash at full health, restart my comp and come back to get put back into the match dead. other times I wound up warping back in the match at very low health.
So ... probably some people log out Talon Style to avoid death, but lately I would be on the side of thinking it's likely crashes in most cases.
This thread would be hilarious if it wasn't so sad because of how indicative it is of everything wrong with the PvP "community." Instead, the trolls and forum warriors insert their pet QQ in an attempt to derail... op consoles, premades, teamwork... whatever. If there is one issue every PvPer should be able to get behind, it's loggers. I can't think of a single other MMORPG that allows a player to insta-log when in combat.
The solution is simple: put in a 30 second timer until despawn if the player logs out during combat. We've been waiting for this since beta. It's silly that this hasn't happened yet.
When the same person logs out time and again, only to be confronted, and responds with: "Well then don't use [insert here] ability." - I'm pretty sure that means they're doing it on purpose. Example of who, see my previous reply.
More often than not, when I see it I'm pretty sure it's a connection or server issue. That being said, there are a few folks who use it regularly (some of whom won't even deny it).
Logging out is cheating, plain and simple. It should be treated as in game harassment. There is no reasonable justification. If you don't like it, go play something else.

It's terrible but easy, and these Borg are way cooler than the mess STO and Voyager left us.
May not actually be "way" cooler or even "slightly" cooler.

Though I agree it was rather hypocritical of him to trash-talk about you running while doing hit-and-run maneuvers in a BoP (especially since you're in a corvette, designed to outrun everything else in the game), logging out doesn't really prove anything.
And it's not always easy to kill corvettes, unless you catch them completely by surprise and hit 'em with tractor beam to stop their movement. That higher impulse mod does wonders for your 'baseline' defense.
He did, however, break the cardinal rule of BoPing: Don't get fixated on a single target. You lose the advantage of surprise and unpredictability if you just keep shooting the same person and failing to kill them.

agreed.A week ban for those who did that and a new job for those who keep adding broken stuffs to game so people wont have to logout.Fair trade imo.
This. Think the movie Tron...
I heard Talon's alt was a guy in FS now!
Now THAT's comedy!

More than likely, They Died because they were Disconnected.
Sometimes
1) they disconnect because they are about to die
but more likely
2) they are about to die/have died because they already disconnected or lagged out.
I still don't understand how handling one server causes so much lack of stability.
Chillax. No Ego. No Drama.
