    While lots of us would love to see this ship in game, anything from the JJ universe is off limits except for maybe the Jellyfish and Narada.

    They don't have the right to use it, so it can't be added. Just the way it is.
    STO is about my Liberated Borg Federation Captain with his Breen 1st Officer, Jem'Hadar Tactical Officer, Liberated Borg Engineering Officer, Android Ops Officer, Photonic Science Officer, Gorn Science Officer, and Reman Medical Officer jumping into their Jem'Hadar Carrier and flying off to do missions for the new Romulan Empire. But for some players allowing a T5 Connie to be used breaks the canon in the game.

    I always thought the most interesting aspect of that interview was that Lockboxes were originally going to be called Stasis Boxes, but they couldn't use that name to due legal issues with TAS.

    Trek is a crazy, mixed-up world of legalities. :)

    you could technically make this ship already with the sovereign class. you just cant get the hole in the saucer section.

    That is a horrible shot of the Vengeance. Well, it doesn't matter anyway, it's an ugly ship regardless. And I thought Cryptic's designs were bad...

    Even the dreaded Lego Ship looks better than this... :P

    Look. This horse has been killed, beaten, buried, dug up, beaten again, and re-buried. Cryptic does not have the rights to use it, so can we please leave the poor, bludgeoned animal to rest in peace? :)

    It is true that STO cannot have such a ship.

    An all new ship 'inspired' by the JJ design however, could be added. And the more people request it the more possible that Cryptic would see dollar signs in their eyes.

    Just sayin'

    The fact that something is inspired by X doesn't mean you can't be sued for using it. And you don't have to lose a lawsuit to the be the loser. Most lawsuits are about the financial hardship of defending yourself rather then actually losing - as legal fees can be viscous.

    But more importantly then any of the above is the idea that CBS must approve any ship added to the game - and CBS doesn't want any more head-bashing with Paramount either. :)

    More is not always better. There are many, including me, who would say that STO has lost much of its Trek feel precisely because it doesn't adhere to canon any longer; especially with all the ships. STO has become so generic that it can barely be called Trek at this point.

    STO is already what happens when you let the gamers and their wallets dictate policy rather then the IP you're supposedly emulating.

    Even the youngest children here are taught that Quality is better than quantity... The notion that just because you add more, it's better is IMO plain silly.

    I am getting sick and tired of reading threads and posts relating to JJ ST. Like you how many times does it have to be said. Anything featured in the JJ ST is completely separate to the true ST. the production company is NOT the same as the traditional ST so therefore NO rights can be obtained to use ANYTHING from JJ ST. The traditional ST as we all know it was made by CBS/Paramount. But they parted ways and JJ ST belongs wholey to Paramount. STO is made along side CBS.

    First let me state that I have NOT seen Into Darkness. No unnecessary spoilers please, but what is this concept art of? Which ship? I don't plan to look up the final version (I'll wait till I've seen the movie) but I'm curious.

    Oh, and anazonda- Whatever that insignia is in your signature should be in this game! I love it.

    My good man, I would happily donate Zen to you and your fleet for that emblem. Cryptic needs a special marketplace for fan created content such as that (although, it would require some sort of approval process). Perhaps a section of the C-Store for fan created content, payment goes to creator. Cryptic still receives money for the Zen, new content (even costumes maybe?) is created at no cost to Cryptic, and increased revenue for the new content.

    Devs- any thoughts?

    Either way, like I said, I'd give you Zen for it if I could. All my Feds would have wings. :)
