We've added 5 new images to the gallery. Several more Voth and Dyson Sphere concept art images will be posted in next week's Captain's Log entry at Massively.com.
Interesting. When you teased a Voyager race being the antagonists of Season 8, I was thinking of the Krenim, the Vaadwaur or the Viidians (especially the Viidians...easily one of the most grotesque, yet also the most tragic, baddies of Star Trek). But the Voth are certainly an interesting choice. Hopefully this means we get to deal with City Ships.
Also, DYSON SPHERES AAAAAAAA (runs around the room in a fit of hyperactivity).

The Viidians were "Hand Waved" out of the picture by the think tank, curing the phage.
Concept Art looks pretty neat. I can already see an STF (or space zone of sorts) that requires you (and a team) to take out a City Ship as a final challenge. Voth Bridge and Duty Officers as FE Rewards too.
...just speculating.
Still, all looks awesome. Nice to see progress is being made on something new.
I was just thinking about Relics and wondering how that would look on the Season 6 TNG Blu-rays and that got me thinking about what a huge freaking deal that would be to discover for the federation.
Love the idea that we'll get to go visit one in STO.
So.... the interior of a Dyson Sphere, unless I'm sorely mistaken, would be the new Space Adventure Zone? Makes sense given how mega-huge the one we did see, was.
Did I miss the announcement of these? Because today I'm seeing the concept art, and I had no idea that either the Voth or the Dyson Sphere were confirmed as something we would be seeing in Season 8... o.0

This character is why I don't play my Romulan any more. Tovan Khev is NOT my BFF! Get him off my bridge!
What if the Voth are not the enemies but the victims of another as yet unrevealed Delta Quadrant species, they are coming to earth after the truth came out about the cover-up/incident in the Voyager episode to see their origin world and are attacked by the race due to their genetic makeup as Voyager/Humans did something naughty to them in the past and are taking it out on the Voth.
So Cave Johnson didnt die but was whisked away to the dyson sphere where he made flying turrets? Seriously those flying things made me think of the turrets from Portal.
I will hate you forever if you turn one of the most interesting races we encounter into another cannon fodder villain of the week. I will hate you so, so much. Well, what happens in Vegas, st... ends up on the site at some point We'll of course have Dev Blogs, more screens, etc. as we get closer.
That's quite the paradox, how could you nerf nerf when the nerf is nerfed. But how would the nerf be nerfed when the nerf is nerfed? This allows the nerf not to be nerfed since the nerf is nerfed? But if the nerf isn't nerfed, it could still nerf nerfs. But as soon as the nerf is nerfed, the nerf power is lost. So paradoxally it the nerf nerf lost its nerf, while it's still nerfed, which cannot be because the nerf was unable to nerf.

Sorry but what?
Most interesting?
This Story was not just weird but seriously WTF?! inducing on a 'Threshold' level, I mean... Dinosaurs, somehow fleeing Earth before the annihilation and getting as far as the Delta Quadrant? Having Starships, Warp Engines and whatever and just happily living on for 65 million years and NOT dominating everything?
If anything their tech must be so advanced that even the Dominion and Borg combined would tuck their tails and get the hell out of the milkyway in a second, they're older than the ******n Iconians who are supposed to be THE Badguy here!
Those poor writers must produce a friggin Miracle here to make it work somehow in the games context, enemy or not... finding the Holy Grail and the sense of life should be a lazy afternoon walk after that.
I would have loved seeing remnants of the Viidians or the Krenim Empire or even the Hegemony... but this?
Sorry...
On the bright side, I absolutely LOVE the Dysonsphere artworks and I am looking forward to go exploring in it

So a few things:
At first I was the same way, dinosaurs somehow became technologically sophisticated enough to escape earth, but didn't leave any trace of that sophistication behind? I'm still skeptical but a friend of mine who is way smarter than I am and has a masters in Physics and Engineering said that it wasn't entirely plausible, because most of the signs of advanced tech would decay pretty quickly. I mean, dinosaurs ruled the earth for how long and yet we only know of their existence from a relatively small number of fossils, which are not actually bones, BTW, but a process by which the general shape of the bones are preserved.
Then there is the millions of years problem, which I would agree with, but in the context of Star Trek seems plausible. I mean, the Vulcans were in space for thousands of years but when we got there we quickly surpassed them. Entire empire's have disappeared or regressed to primitive tech levels in the trek universe, and the Voth don't have the advantage of being an empire, their a nomadic group according to the one episode we saw them in, heck we don't even know if they had the numbers to support rapid technological progress. The federation, a multispecies, multistarsystem spanning empire didn't really make much technological progress between TOS and the end of VOY. Heck, for all we know the Voth we saw in voyager were the throwbacks, the dogmatic Voth who refused to progress with their brothers who went on to be come inscrutable supertech aliens while their backwards VOTH brethren never really went anywhere technologically. Maybe these Voth even regressed over time, losing much of their technical expertise and having to rebuilt over and over again throughout history. Would actually make for a really great episode of....

Infinite possibilities have implications that could not be completely understood if you turned this entire universe into a giant supercomputer.
