Starting with 1000Z. Sell that for going rate - say 100D.

You now have 0Z and 100,000D.

Put in a buy order for 1000Z at 99D.

When (if) it sells you will have 1000Z and 1,000D.

You're tying up the vast bulk of your liquid capital for a 1% return, or less, in no certain time-frame. And there's always the risk the market goes the other way.

I didn't say I was doing it, I just said I would clarify how it was done.

Oh, and the 1% return - is 1% over a course of just a few days. Not going to do the math, but that is a great annualized return.

Also, in case some of you don't know, there are "mining claims" that grant 5,000 dilithium for one mine rocks minigame. A friend of mine gave me some. I can't remember which lock box they come from and I'm too lazy right now to pull up stowiki.

Anyhow, one claim + 5 more mining games = 6,000 dilithium in 7 minutes, if you're good at it. Probably more if you do it during the event. Bonus: around 5 particle traces if you are quick at the game.

ESTFs. Around four is usually enough to fill the cap, but sometimes I can do it in less than that if I get lucky drops on BNPs and marks.
I ask nothing but that you remember me.

Elite STFs. Direct rewards, and turning in Omega Marks and Neural Processors in for dilithium in the reputation window.

PvP 3-shot rotations (be sure to accept the overlapping missions from Calhoun and Icheb)

    Ker'rat 3-shot rotation.

    Oreillius/Deferi missions.

By that point, you've likely already exceeded your daily refine limit.

"mining claims"... A friend of mine gave me some.

Doubtful, unless things were different when they were first introduced. They are bound.

They do come from lockboxes, but at a comparatively low drop rate. You're much more likely to get XP bonuses or doff mini-packs. I've opened maybe 15 lockboxes when I get bored and have a little extra cash. I've yet to see one.

The problem is that the market is limited. You can flip a couple of thousand or even tens of thousands of Zen this way. But there's not enough activity in the market to flip millions. And if many people try this, that divides the pool by the number of people involved.
"Participation in PVP-related activities is so low on an hourly, daily, weekly, and monthly basis that we could in fact just completely take it out of STO and it would not impact the overall number of people [who] log in to the game and play in any significant way." -Gozer, Cryptic PvP Dev

Hmm... Sorry, my memory is faulty. I confused them with cxp boosts and other stuff that he sent. Yeah, I must have gotten them from boxes. I probably got around 15-20 out of 10 boxes. I still have 7.

The claims come in two sizes. a blue that has six claims, and a purple that has 10 claims. I have gotten a couple of blues and maybe one purple per stack of lockboxes. They came in the temporal lockbox and you have a better chance of getting one opening those than opening the Tal Shiar boxes, where they can also be found.

    I think I can clarify.

Put in a buy order for 1000Z at 99D.

When (if) it sells you will have 1000Z and 1,000D.

To clarify further you add the winnings to the zen purchase to get more zen, keep repeating the process until you are double the original investment then you keep the dilithium.

This is NOT a short term quick and easy way to get dilithium but if done right you could fill whole fleet project dilithium requirements except the major upgrades by yourself. I went from 500 zen to 1k zen doing that then got sick of checking the exchange and managing sales so bought one of the outfits and took the rest in dilithium.

Market swings are easy enough to somewhat negate long term wise, if zen starts selling for less then sell what you have right away then hold onto the dilithium until it settles down. Zen to dilithium goes up keep your ZEN until it settles. It will always settle for a short period but these massive fluctuations are what really makes the most gains and you have to catch them right away to prevent taking a big enough loss to negate all the investing you have done so far or worse.

Probably the most boring way to earn dilithium and probabluy wouldnt be done for anything but a suplemental income for most players. We have one in our fleet who does make millions of dilithium this way over the course of a month but took about a year to get there. Impossible no. takes forever to do, yes. hard no. chance of stopping at first loss, great.

Dil Mining Daily, Lore Daily, Deferi Dailies, Eta Eridani Dailies, and eSTFs.

I've had over 100,000 unrefined dil in my account as long as I can remember.

I appreciate that, and it is a good way to go, but I posted with the consideration that some people who play the game only want to be Feds, or only have time for one character, which will most likely be a Fed, and therefore they would not regard having a Klingon toon or multiple toons as an option, so they would want to have other options to the contraband, to suit their game play.

They still can I play mainly fed, but I have created two characters on the KDf side. I leveled them to 11 which doesn't take long to open up the DOFF missions. Once there you only need log on a to the character for a few minutes each day to collect completed DOFF missions and set up more. I do understand what you are saying but you are looking at around 20 minutes to do this using onl two sectors.

As I said this also means if they then want to try out the KDF side they have a character that is alreadt levelled up. People do change over time, going to another game, WoW, when I first started I played mostly lock and hunter I tried the other classes and just did not like them. A year or so down the line I then tried to level a mage, rogue and priest and found I quite enjoyed them.

I'll also take a moment to plug the Foundry (for the authors). As far as I know there no 8.000 daily cap (in a sense) for Foundry authors. While they can only refine 8k, they receive dilithium tips that go directly into their refined pot.

Granted, it's nearly impossible under the broken listings to get many tips, unless you've made an exploit. But, if they ever fix things and give players better ways to find quality missions, then tips might flow more easily.

Because I have 9 missions which includes a spotlight. A good portion of my dilithium needs are alleviated by being a foundry author.

A better known author just told me that his totals are near 750k of refined dilithium over the course of 2 years. I'm nowhere close to that, nor are most authors, but it's something to aspire toward.

I wonder how much the author of Admiral Bobo gets. Probably a lot more. Most authors struggle and are not as lucky as the few of us who can be found. Nevertheless, if you want to ease the burden of your daily grind, learn the foundry. Tell some stories. Get plays, if you can.

Usually do Empire Defense for KDF side and maybe throw in a Defairi aid mission but do them on a couple chars a day sometimes. Usually don't get to 8K namely because I'm lazy but grind away and have gotten a few things with Z I've cashed in so far. Got my Reman that way and few bank slots and TRYING though doubt I'll have the patience to get the Scimi's too. :)

Sword of the Kuvah'magh nets you 2k in about 15 minutes.

You'd need to run three ESTF's capping out at about 40 minutes (if run flawlessly and fast) to get in that range.

ALternately you can kill an hour by running the ESTF's and a single foundry mission.

I do the Repair Utopia Planetia one all the time it takes very little time and it ends giving me both dilithium and the EC very quickly. 21k EC 2.1 k Dil

Dilth is fairly easy to get...however you can only refine 8-10k a day. Doff missions give a fair amount of dilth too, some more than others and if you "crit" in a doff mission you get even more.

Max out your Duty Officers with greens, blues and purples and keep as close to 20 missions as possible.

Also some lock boxes give "premium dilth certificates" and you can get up to 5k dilth in 1 min. every 20 hours.

    Happy Mining :P

That's 8k per character. The more characters the more you can refine. I can easily get atleast 24k dil per day on my main characters, more if I use my DOFFing alts. you can move that dilithium between characters easilly.

I would love if the claim vouchers were account bound, can anyone verify what the boxes are before you open them, or are also character bind on pickup?

I can see why they are not though, it'd be easy to run a voucher on 10 characters and hit 50k dili in a matter of about 45 mins (way less if you didn't have to travel at all), ~ leaving an easy 30k to pickup with rep/doff.

I'm under the impression PvP is the fastest in game way to farm Dili ~ albeit far from the most passive.

At the moment I only log in to convert contraband.

For the future, after they kill console fabrication, I plan to sell blue downgraded doff's and buy contraband.

I am still trying to force myself to do the nukara rep - no luck so far and after that the game will be near 100 % afk.

And it's funny too because in the old days before they nerfed STFs I'd make new characters and play constantly trying to get drops.

You know they could just have kept the drops in there and you'd still have incentive to play all maps and actually play aswell.
