Important question to pose, are you a Verizon Customer? If so, the issue can be resolved by "Waiting until Verizon and Cogent work out their issues." If not, I have no idea how to help you. :P

I would love to make a new topic about the following, but I can not for some reason. If the following story is important/helpful enough I hope an admin will use it to help others.

Something really strange happened today. This morning around 11 AM(CEST) my game suddenly lost connection, and after that I could not even reach the launcher because the little grey box saying trying to connect to patch server failed aster 5 attempts every time. of course my first thought was that my internet connection disconnected for some reason, it happens sometimes. So I checked my connection and it was just fine, I could connect to Google Chrome etc.. SO my second thought was, STO was offline, that wasn't the problem either. I removed my internet cable from my laptop and made a connection to my smartphone using 3G, strangely STO connected without any problems to it! My third step was asking help of a friend, he told me to perform a cold reset, but even that failed to help. So I just went on digging for info and tried almost anything in my laptop. Eventually I came across a Star Trek Game launcher.exe in my downloads map and clicked properties, and I saw something I never saw before; there was a sentence saying: DISABLED, This program may be downloaded from another computer and could be harmful'' (NOTE; for my other STO files including another game launcher.exe are in the ''public'' file inside windows and that there are 3 other computers in this house). I clicked Enable and tried to start the game again and it worked. The weird parts are why was it disabled?, why could I connect with 3G and not my standard connection? And are there always 2 .exe launchers? Also when I finally was able to start the game again the launcher popped out as always, yet this time it was verifying(not updating or patching) for 10 to 15 minutes all kinds of files? I took steps thanks to the advice from a friend I re installed AVG because at that moment i didn't have an anti virus. I changed my password and re installed the entire game.

Is this just a random something, does someone has a rational explanation or is this maybe something malicious?

BLUE: your possible solution to the problem
