Once upon a time, there was a story known as Nukara and the Fatal Error

Hey Folks,

I was hoping somebody may be able to shed some light onto this for me, I've been gaining Nukara Marks for quite some time now by being the good hero and rescuing my fellow Redshirt, however for the past 10 tries I TRY to enter the Nukara system I get a Fatal Error and the game crashes...followed by the standard box to fill out a report of what happened.

I've filled out the report (each time) verified my files (each time) although its still not working, Now folks I am a very patient guy although this is starting to get the better of me and test my patience. . :( any help would certainly be appreciated regarding this issue.

    Anybody?! This is still happening despite me disabling all on demand patching and downloading another 3.4GB of files...all verified.:(

    I have decided to include the error message which pops up when ever I try and enter the Nukara System, I have verified ALL of my files and even enabled on demand patching just incase I was missing ANY files, this issues is still persisting to wind me up...:mad:

    Seems some gateway along the line is causing the problem, on other threads they say it is a verizon problem, no idea if verizon equipment is part of cryptic online games service along the way. I got the same problem as you did with three of my toons, one in KDF academy and two on DS9, and now, i get a unable to authenticate message on patch/login window, and cant get into STO.. or Neverwinter or Champions Online either.

    But i can login into other online games without problem,so it is something PWI/Cryptic will have to solve.

    And i hope they dont take long doing it.

    Damn, i read this on another post, instead of your normal username, type the e-mail you registered with and use your usual password it should get you into the game. mine is verifying file right now.

    It's dying in Boston on Cogent equipment.

    They wont fix a bug only one or two guys have a problem with.

    Isn't one of the .hogg files corrupt? It seems the game is unable to extract it's needed content.

    Try to rename (yes, rename... don't delete just yet) all the .hogg files and let the patcher re-download them. I can't guarantee this works but it's worth a try.

    Ok, so I rename the files although I'm a little confused as to what I will rename them too? I appreciate you helping me with this.

    you can add "old_" or something, it doesn't really mind. It's just that the game can't "find" these files.

    Why renaming instead of deleting? If the update doesn't work, you can always give them the original name (and do everything except nukara).

    I've just decided to just uninstall it and re-install, much simpler :P
