I can not believe what I see! it simply has more good sence, criptic should stop thinking about profit and fix this game efficiently.
It not even funny anymore every time that you repair a bug you create three more, several players from our fleet have told us of their intention to leave STO.
in four months it will be the beginning of season 8, I can not believe your abouth to do it . How can season 8 be a success if you cant operate the season 7 correctly.
now as a result of the last pach we dont have acces to are KDF fleet Holding, the ship you fix are worsth then before and theres more to it, now can you get to work seriously on this game before you destroy it!!! were is good sence gone :
I totally agree with you, but at this point there is nothing we can do about it. They will not listen to their customers, the ones that support this game and keep it funded.
I really hope that it can turn around, but it is not looking good. And like you said, with 1 fix comes 3 more of something broke..something that was not broke before that one fix lol.
Uh, the Doomsayers usually put on their apocalypse cloaks, and haunt the forums at the beginning of a new season.:rolleyes:Your a little late to the party.:P
im betting you someone said season 7 was the end...
i think i saw someone say season 6 was the end hah..
but for reals.. since season 7 with all the nerfs and added stuff.. this game has gone down hill fun wise..
its turning into a 2nd part time job.
cant play for fun.. you have to grind up the same missions over and over and over and over.

but wait - it can't end yet - there is a whole new reputation system being added soon!! And a new fleet holding!!
I regret to inform you that this game has been buggy since day one. It has not died as of yet. This beginning of the end you speak of started before launch. Even in this buggy state, if this game could survive the content drought of 2011 with the die hard fans then it will survive now. I have seen a lot of bug and I will keep playing because the good parts of this game outweigh the bad. I'm not going to cry over it... at the end of the day it's only a game.
im betting you someone said season 7 was the end...
I'm sure it was the end for some players. What we need to remember is that STO is now a churn game, this was a change they knowingly made to increase profits. Great for them, not so great for the players, if some leave it may be a big personal crisis for the players involved, but not to Cryptic. Why bother fixing bugs if there'll always be more new players?

I don't think an update will do it. However there are a number already saying they will quit is ARC becomes mandatory as is PWE/Cryptics plan. These are people who have said they are happy to play the game and support it with their cash even with all the bugs we have that seem never to get fixed some were around during the content drought and it didn't make them quit.
Now that is a worrying thing to hear as some of them aren't what you would call your average rage quit poster. It makes me wonder how bad an effect this forcing of bloat and spyware on the players will go down with the playerbase as a whole.

People were crying about the same thing when we had to link our accounts with PWE.

You're comparing apples with oranges. Take a look at the ARC thread, you will see it is a different beast entirely. Which is why it is a thing that causes me some concern.

Big difference between adjusting a log-in name and being forced to utilize a new program on your PC.
Will Arc be a nail in the coffin of this game? No, but it will provide no incentive to play this game, and given the state of this game there's no incentive to play other Cryptic or PWE games, so that means that as things are standing now all Arc is doing is driving people away.
Personally I believe this game will continue on for at least another year, which is when Star Citizen is shooting to coming out, and that game will take away one of the key niches this game has, which is free movement space flight, leaving only the Star Trek name to hold the game up. Don't get me wrong, the Star Trek name is worth a lot, without the brand this game would have died years ago, but people love Star Trek so this game has persisted for years, however I do believe that as things are looking to be right now, Star Citizen will be everything this game could and should have been and more so I would look for this discussion to actually become significant in a year and a half from now.
I would say that Cryptic could get their stuff together and start fixing and improving things, but given their track record the odds are stacked heavily against that happening.

If I had a Zen for every time someone said the game is going to die because of some update.....it would be considered an exploit.
What!!! didn't you already know there is a link to get free zen everytime a player moans, I'm a Zen trillionaire (in a temporal universe lol)
Thing is alot of players only think of what is wrong with the game that is relevant to them. I have found that some bugs mentioned I am like where I don't have that happening to me. So some bugs and glitches comes down how their systems are set up, for example a graphics setting may need reducing. Yes there are game bugs that we all get but hey ho there is nothing perfect in the world. If the glitches and bugs currently present were that much of a big issue, people would stop playing altogether, but players still continue to play, and still moan.
PWE DOES listen and take note of players in regards to glitches and bugs, but there is only so much that can be down at any given time. Alright the bugs that people mention might not get fixed straight away, but players have to remember that what is fixed in the updates has to be for the good of ALL players. "The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few".
Loving what you are saying about Arc. Started using it from the day it was released and uptil now have had only one issue, that was fixed there and then.
Hehe, I'm a pre-order lifer and was called an idiot because the game would shut down less than a month after launch. So yeah, dear Doomsayers, please go back to Auchindoun where you belong.

This is what I meant by causing me concern. I don't think it will ill the game on its' own but it could cause enough problems to drive quite a lot away.
Let's not forget the power of word of mouth advertising. Good or bad it has more power than people realise and if people start saying stay away then it can sway people to avoid the game, and then they tell others. Which again could cause problems.
I came to this game through a recommendation, I was told to give it a try and that it was quite buggy but also quite fun. Both were true, if my PC hadn't gone bang and I needed to save up to replace it there would have been no break in my game play. However I am extrely uneasy about ARC.
