then why I am I still trying to connect to the update game launcher?? I guess my internet must be down ( insert sarcastic eye roll )

    It took several minutes for mine to connect, but then it did and I logged in and downloaded the patch regularly. Maybe you need to restart the Launcher. Don't know.
    STO is about my Liberated Borg Federation Captain with his Breen 1st Officer, Jem'Hadar Tactical Officer, Liberated Borg Engineering Officer, Android Ops Officer, Photonic Science Officer, Gorn Science Officer, and Reman Medical Officer jumping into their Jem'Hadar Carrier and flying off to do missions for the new Romulan Empire. But for some players allowing a T5 Connie to be used breaks the canon in the game.

    restart the launcher?? I can't connect to the launcher at all "retry 20 times" and counting

    I simply meant close the current attempts to connect and then restart.

    have closed the launcher and retried connecting several times, and I waited for "failed connection 9 times" before retrying...

    Try turning your firewall off. It's possible that the launcher update is using a pathing route not recognized by your firewall and is being stopped from leaving your computer. I've had that happen twice to me over the years.

    Cute...patcher for STO and NWO appear to be broken...can't patch or play either game..this is getting silly...down for maintenance and patch, followed by a game you can't log in to...same problem with last week's patch, can't log in...didn't this show up anywhere in your testing?

    well, the launcher finally opened, I typed in my password, shows me signed in..but the updat status bar is grey, doesn't update....

    This would probably be less aggravating if I played for free, however, I'm a LTS, and spend quite a lot of money on the game buying zen (well past the $1000+ mark)...with no one to call for customer service there's no way other than this forum to let anyone know about the problem, that and filing a support ticket, which always takes several days for support to get aound to answering...they need a support phone number, at least for the LTS'ers...

    If you're quoting the message I think you're quoting, then Bran was referring to an issue where you couldn't get to character select, nothing to do with patcher problems.

    Maybe you need to use ARC.
