Typhon or typhoon? as we have an npc typhoon class in game.
and ultimately, if CBS ok's the use of a design in a game they license do they not own that license unless they agree to let the developer keep said license?

They license someone to publish materials under the Star Trek name, what the game company creates with that license is still its intellectual property.
I think Xindi will be coming eventually. They were a to bigger part of ST:Ent to be ignored. As for the ships mentioned in this thread. Its possible to come to such an agreement with the owner of the IP. Stall said ships from other games need Approval from CBS first. But then ships like the Apollo which were in ST Legacy (Beatheasda), Klingon Academy and Starfleet Command 1 and 2 ( Interplay) and Shattered Universe (TDK) which are used by different publishers must be obtainable for Cryptic
Isent that rom ship from the "Art of Star Trek Book". I think I saw it in there and it was one of the orginal design ideas for the Dederix Class. so if it should be in with all the designs cryptic has access to.......
A tier five Constitution Refit class Fleet ship. This is still my favorite vessel in Trek.
EXACTLY this! (and love your sig line heheheh)
*STO*Its mission: To destroy strange new worlds, to seek out new life and new civilizations... and then kill them, to boldly annihilate what no one has annihilated before!
I would totally love flying my MA-12 and BH-2 for the Gorn. I'd buy those!
The only FASA ship they could put in for sure would be the Orion Wanderer, which was on a computer screen that Data was observing at high speed in a first season episode.
I'll bet there are quite a few things from canon and semi-canon Star Trek titles (be they films, books, games, etc) that we might never see in-game because of licensing issues. One of the first things that come to mind are the weapons from Elite Force II, like the arc welder gun or the Idryll staff weapon, or the Exomorph monsters, even.
My question to you guys is "What sort of things would you lament over never seeing in STO because whatever-license-holder won't let it happen?"
Pft. That's what forum posters used to say about the Kelvin Alternate Timeline.
Picard's speech, Spock's Peace, anti-war sentiment and the non violence parts
the boring stuffs which people seen a lot in old trek narratives
those are no liscenced but peace is not good for business
everyone want to a bigger piece to shoot a load
devs are happy to do the virtual p3nis enlargement for us

Better yet, Lyrans with Expanding Sphere Generators to take out those pesky carrier pets

I do miss the Xindi not being in STO.
Sphere builder
I hope STO get's better ...
I wholeheartedly second this.
The shield beaming technology that the pirate ships had in the delta quadrant.
Borg sensor enhancements to science ships.
vidian technologies for ground healing or their weapons for ground combat.
I'd settle for a new emote..."the B slap":D

The key here is "unused". I'm not sure if CBS actually bought it, if not then it's off the table.

Wow, that's beautiful. Interesting combination of ships. Not too flat. Has a nice profile, and kind of elegant.

Makes the necro worth it as far as I'm concerned.

Most awesome fighter/shuttle I've ever seen in the series.
I would love ANY ship with just a single Nacelle...
But add that you cannot leave the map unless the hull is at 100%.... heh heh
