I think that it was fixed at one point, but was pretty much immediately broken again after another patch. I know it's annoying, but I think I've only ever been hit by five of them, and two of them I survived (but at that point my shields were gone and had really low health, so I died a few seconds later). Also, this is in a HEC. The point is, they aren't that frequent to get all worked up about. Take your respawn, and try again. If you're peeved about the ship damage and wasting components, don't bother using them and get your ship fixed at a starbase after the end of each stf.

I understand how frustrating it can be. After all... my main flies an Assault Cruiser Refit, and even the Lexington is vulnerable to the dreaded invisitorp.

you know honestly I just got used to it and I shrug it off. what gets me is when in ISE the tac can shoot thru the gate at you but you cant return fire because of line of sight. or how all the spheres seem to have a real love affair with the gate and hide inside of it so targeting them is a pain in the a**. so the invis torp is the last of my complaints hehe

Invisa-torp: plain normal plasma torpedo that will crit everytime and is completely invisible including it's explosion as well as strikes when shields are less than 100%.
Got 2 of them tonight! But i do have to say they are far far less frequent than when LOR was released and you get three for every cube. I just respawn and keep on puging lol.

at range (excess of 10km) the torpedo animation for the plasma torpedo (hard to see) gets slower and the actual torpedo part still hits your ship on time. if it crits on red shields, chances are you'll pop. the animation for the plasma torpedo way behind disappears the instant your ship is hit, so there's your 'invisi' torpedo..
not sure if photons or other standard torpedo types are affected by this animation problem.

But come on now, if I ram another ship at 200 % speed and set extra charges for a warp core explosion only to do zero damage you have to take a step back

Yeah, the invisitorp is frustrating, but the "quick everybody scatter away !" is infuriating. Especially when they are supposed to be some kind of zombie-robot (zombot ?) that have no emotion at all. But they still run instead of fighting together. Not to mention, getting themselves stuck in the gates.

Why do borg in eSTFs STILL one shot cruisers from full shields and hull to dead? I thought that sort of thing was fixed?
It's ridiculous that the game insta-kills you and gives you ship damage when the NPCs can't do it on their own.
That's not making STFs challenging, that's just being annoying.

I've been looking for this supposed bug the past couple weeks and the best I can find is being point blank range from a gate while I'm sitting still. But gates are negated by the 9.5 rule...plus you shouldn't be sitting still anyway.

My biggest pet peeve is Hive:Onslaught. It used to be simply dps, some positioning, and shooting down the plasma torps. It was my favorite. That was before LoR.
Now with the lance (upgrade? bug? who knows) that vaporizes you instantly it's unplayable. It is doable but need an elite team that can take down a vessel immediately and get lucky at the same time. Sure you can cuddle up with the Queen but then you've got insta kill torps coming at you from both directions.
I'm flying a fleet excel with 15k shields, 61k hull, 37 resist, all rep finished, and pretty crazy gear and skill. If this doesnt afford me some protection then why did I grind all this TRIBBLE in the first place? Might as well just make the respawn button my best friend and fly a miranda for giggles.
popped me a few times easy at 47,863 damage last I saw it float up... low shields running from the gate? yeah ur gonna pop like a fat bug on the windshield.

Try having no damage to hull, no damage to shields, you just got out of range of the gate (wide turn radius), and at 13 or so km distance from the gate (which was the nearest thing to me, nothing else had been in range to shoot me, period), and all of sudden I get to watch my ship be a 4th of July firework. It's like HUH? If my torp to begin with, has to chase some outside a 10km range, it disappears. So not only is it a 1-hit wonder, it's also apparently got super-seeker engines with GREAT "gas" mileage!!!!!!
And yeah, it was fixed for like 3 days....just long enough for one to get comfy...then the splatting started again. I mean really? I can live with Donatra getting a pass on that, unless she manages to lag-kill you, that cone of doom is usually easy to avoid, but the gates and some cubes get a super-duper-cooper (and whatever other oopers you want to add in) torp to splat you with? Sheesh. Make the AI better, like another thread mentioned, up the min damage a bit, give them a little more resist. Don't give them a bs TRIBBLE I WIN doomtorp
