Yep. I have tried it through ARC and STEAM. Soon as I click on the Login button, it crashes.

Same thing for me, today. I've never had a problem running the game, decided to play today for the first time since the last patch... and nothing. No indication of what the error is, just the Application Crash box with a request for details.

it seems to be a problem w/ the launcher and nvidia graphics cards. I am on a lap top and disabled my nvidia graphics for the launcher and I got it to load without crashing. sto-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?t=743511 got the idea from this thread.

Same here. Haven't played for awhile, figured I'd try out a Romulan character and then boom, every time I try opening the launcher, it crashes. The loader goes through an attempt to update, but then Windows tells me the application has stopped working.

Same problem here. Except it's been happening to me for weeks. Sent in a petition concerning it, and this was the response: "Hello

Thank you for contacting support, when logging in please make sure to use your email that you registered with and not your username. If you have any other questions or concerns please do not hesitate to contact us!"

Real helpful, guys. Anyone know how to fix this?

The last patch broke the game for so many people.

    See, Cryptic?

I post much about it but cannot even get even with all of the threads they open and post in about it.

    Any idea?
I still dream from time to time about using the Gateway to doff off-game in spare minutes as we were told

Whenever i try to enter the game, it goes to the login screen, but as soon as i select my person and play, the game crashes and i get this "Cryptic error" report message. How do I fix it?

Yes same here. Can login and select character just fine but after about an 1 hour sometimes less the game will crash. Game was fine before the Thurs. Jan. 29th 2015 patch. When it crashes I just get a general Win. 7 error box saying game client has stopped responding and no Cryptic Crash Reporter popup, also system uses an Nvidia GTX 555 card. No changes to hardware or software except updating to Nvidia driver 347.25 released 1/22/15 to see if that would help, no change still crashing.

I'm having the same crash problems when I launch the game. But what really annoys me is I have to go through the freaking "Verify" process at the launcher, get to the title screen and wham! blue screen, then game crash!!!! This just happened five times in a row to me! I logged in at around 1 pm earlier today and got in just fine and played for a couple of hours. What the hell's going on??

I'm also getting a lot of crashes, 2 of them gave me this error http://i.imgur.com/dkdGRsP.png but most of them are just silent crashes, is this because of an issue with Radeon R9 GPU's or am i just going to have to write this game off as too buggy to be played?

zero problems here. The day of the Anniv launch, I had a tiny bit of lag when everyone logged in all at once -- it also said the server was full, a message I have not seen in a long, long time.

Sounds like a subset of people have an incompatible driver/hardware/something after the patch, and the usual suspect is the graphics card... but that is just guess work.

Same here, crashes after character selectioni. Thing is, I;m new, trying to play for the first time. So I thought it was me. I updated every driver on the CPU, even my BIOS, updated Internet Explorer and Networking service pack cuz I read in a 2010 post that could be an issue. I can run games like Skyrim and Mass Effect 3 on full settings with no issue. Lightning fast with full effects on LoL. But can't get this game to be a go.

My hypothesis is that the file pathing/names is janked up from a patch or initial download, files or folders being renamed might fix but rename to what?

Or it is one of the stops down the network brick road to connect to cryptic server. My cat5 fiber obtic runs between 50-60 megabits per second. The ms and ping infor from CMD is posted below (removed info that could create hack ops) There is one location local to cryptic that is way defunked. Enough to prevent batched file transfer.... yet that type of error wouldn't force an immediate freeze I don't think.
