So CBS says no to T5 Connie and Miranda ect... So my thought is why not make ships that sort of look like them but larger and their own unique style? It can be based of the ideas and looks of the old ships but be the new line for the new time. Just a thought, it would help the immersion and would allow PWE to make more money. .-.

Making the ships larger in size doesn't help immersion at all.

I worded that wrong. >.< I meant like the old Connie was a base model and now there's the new models. With the need the design changed and grew over time. End result is a ship that has hints of the old version but with the new style Make sense? (Like old mustang compared to the new one.)

We already have a modern ship class that is descended from the Constitution's lineage. It's called the Sovereign class.

And the old Mustang was phased out in favour of the new Mustang. As the above person said, the Sovereign is the evolution of design from the TOS Connie.

Oh come on guys, you know what I mean. ^^ I like the elegant looks of the old ships, they were almost fragile looking but were built sound. The long struts of the Connie were great and the Miranda was perfect! ^^

Are you suggesting the Enterprise from the JJ Trek movies?

Almost fragile, but looked sound...
As I see it, the Sovereign retains the long struts you refer to, and said 'fragility' was eliminated from the design, leaving you with the logical evolution of the class.
A neck is a structural weakness. Unless it's the size of a small moon (I'm looking at you, Odyssey class) it really makes no sense to return it to modern ship design theory.

Built sound? Sometimes I am afraid that the nacelles would break off if someone sneezed in the ship. The Constitution is not a solid ship. It was a ship designed for artistic appeal rather than any sense of durability or functionality.
Well that would be epic but no, maby a mix of the Regent and the Exeter? But I guess that would look like JJprise. Hmm Well at any rate more sleek ships with full saucers, I love that look ^^ And maby a single Nacelle ship like the USS Kelvin. ((I know, JJ trek again but it was a cool ship. ))
Pah, Federation ships. Too concerned with 'beauty' and 'looks', and always looking soft.
Klingon ships are better. Our ships are shaped like daggers aimed at your heart.
Except all those flimsy necks connecting your bridge to the engine room, right? The things that are on every ship and clearly couldn't be sheared off with a well-aimed phaser strike? :P

Lets see...
Bird of Prey... flimsy neck.
D-7/K'T'inga family... flimsy neck and potential flimsy Necelle struts.
Raptors... Flimsy neck and a few flimsy necelle struts.
Vor'cha... a bit beefier but still vulnerable neck.
Neg'var... beefier but still vulnerable.
Carriers... ok... you got that one KDF. WAIT... Phaser Spinal Lance. Flimsy neck.
:P
So... you keep your design philosiphy, and we'll keep ours. Just as your ships are more aggressive, Fed ships are more well rounded.
I can't take it anymore! Could everyone just chill out for two seconds before something CRAZY happens again?!

Read/saw somewhere that the struts were made skinny to imply that in the future they had tech/materials beyond what we had now, so being 'too skinny' to us was structurally sound in 'the future'; or something like that.
I know I didn't appreciate that when trying to build the ERTL models back in the day.
The question I have is why do we need old technology ships in 2409-12?
As others have pointed out, the Sovereign, Oddy, and other ships are the advancing classic model changes the TOS ships were the progenitors of. The reason for having engines and reactors in nacelles suspended by conduits far from crew occupied hulls and equipement was based on 1960-70 era engineering principles for space stations and ideas for starships from that era.
The only reason I see for the old ship skins is we have TOS uniforms and TOs Movie uniforms that do not go with anything but T1 Constitution and Excalibur hulls. Some might want to capture that era. Good for them, and I don't criticize that type of immersion. But this is 2409.

People want to use the ships from their favorite series when playing the game. It's not RP, it's not rocket science, it's not a conspiracy or anything other than folks simply want to use the ships from their favorite series...
Also, not as many people as you may think care about Universe Continuity and share the view the game should only represent the current era it supposedly takes place in. There's already a constitution class ship in the game, how would it be "worse" to make it a viable end game ship? It's already blaspheming the timeline by existing here in the first place.
My real favorite are the people who throw out bizarre statements like "I want a T5 Potato then". Obviously such statements are equal to wanting an end game version of not only an iconic Star Trek ship, but arguably the MOST iconic ship in the entire Star Trek universe. Yeah really I can't see why any rational person would want that ship as a viable end game option.

I'm aware of all these arguements. Personally, I always wanted to run a WOK and TOS era ship and that is why I bought those uniform sets. I would also like to see my ship interiors with my choice of crew uniforms. My choice of side arm skins.
You will notice I make no illogical or goofy off the wall arguments for your OP or against.
In the end Cryptic has said no. I guess Cee BS has said no. All these arguments are subjective and based on wants of the customer base. So we are at an impass that only the game owner can ultimately resolve and they will not or cannot.

Why? They'd have to make the Oberth, NX, and Miranda available also. They would charge for it, and the whining would come about how all the people who want their shiny T5 TMP era (or earlier) ship available for free.
There's also literally hundreds of things this game needs than a shoehorned T5 ship that doesn't belong.
Believe me, I'd love to have a T5 NX class refit that was planned for season 5 of Enterprise. However, it's not coming, and as evidenced by my various posts on the matter, there is very, very, little support for that idea.
Also, artistically, the Constitution has little in common with the modern ships, and doesn't fit in with the setting.

You do have the Excelsior, which remains a solid option for that playstyle. And I'd be all in support of an Excelsior costume variant that's a step between the Connie and Excelsior or one that's a step between the Excelsior and the Ambassador.

Bold by me. Actually Matt Jefferies designed the original starship with artistic appeal, durability and functionality in mind from the start. But I do understand why some feel the design of those struts look weak. But in-universe they were adequate to the task. And still would be in 2409.
In much the same way as Doug Drexler's Enterprise-J design carries a similar philosphy. Some fans don't like it at all because it looks to spindly - in the aft quarter - for a ship of the distant future. Yet, in-universe, it's likely very practical for the task set for it.

Ya, I didn't like the "Pregnant Guppy" when I originally saw the Excelsior in the theater. Best part of that movie was when Scotty threw in the monkey wrench to gum up the works. The STO T5 ship is great, don't get me wrong. Just think the skin is ugly compared to the Exeter and TOS: movie series ship.

The T2 constitution as well as the Exeter and Excelsior are all direct evolutions of the TOS constitution... There's also already a T4 excelsior. If you want a T5 evolution of the Constitution, try the Galaxy Dreadnought or the Galaxy Refit.

Other than you think they look pretty; why should they make connies and mirandas at T5 when we have perfectly functional more updated models?

Connie-style struts and neck. Sovereign style nacelles and saucer. Brand new hull.
You could always kitbash for something more Connie-ish.
Maybe Excalibur/Vesper/Exeter inspired options, enlarged and tweaked for the Ambassador frame.
This would not be for pretending you're in a Connie, obviously, but for getting that basic Connie-style profile.
You do have the Excelsior, which remains a solid option for that playstyle. And I'd be all in support of an Excelsior costume variant that's a step between the Connie and Excelsior or one that's a step between the Excelsior and the Ambassador.
