We do not need new taxes. What we need is better logs. Join date, purchase log, detail contribution log. That way we can reward your best fleet members and kick out leachers.

Yes , better logs is what i want.

I like your idea better too. I just wish I would have heard it sooner so I could have posted it instead of mine but then the read would have not been near as interesting.

Well think about it like this:

If you hadn't posted your idea, I would've probably not come up with mine.

So there's something positive at least.
I remain empathetic to the concerns of my community, but do me a favor and lay off the god damn name calling and petty remarks. It will get you nowhere.
I must admit, respect points to Trendy for laying down the law like that.

Taxes also insure that no single person is paying for the streets we use, the bridges we drive over, the schools are kids attend, and other services we all here in America enjoy.

That is the definition of socialism; everybody "paying their fair share" is socialism (not communism, but close). You seem to be terribly confused about what you want: you insist that people should only receive what they earn, and no-one should have to pay for anyone else, and yet in the same sentence advocate union fees i.e. everyone paying for everyone else?

In the free market one who has a product can set the price and rules regarding it's purchase. The fleets are run as a laissez-faire free market; if you do not want someone to have what you are offering (for any reason, be it financial or ideological) you are free to turn them away, that is to remove them from the fleet.

Either you advocate the free market, and no union dues; or you advocate socialism and a tax on fleet membership. There is no middle ground. You cannot have your cake and eat it.

Not taxes but union dues. I don't think its unfair to charge a fee everyone will be paying so everyone contributes. I also don't care for the welfare state you are promoting and would be glad to put my foot in anyones behind that does. I'm not the fleet leader but if I was and kicked everyone who wasn't contributing then there wouldn't be much of a fleet left. There are too many out there who would rather enjoy the free ride than pay their way, but you better believe they will accept the benefits they haven't earned.

I'm an old biker dude that's worked for everything I have and I absolutely hate a free loader.

So, as stated, mandate them to contribute or kick them. However, that is what YOU want in YOUR fleet.... there should be absolutely no reason for YOUR idea of how YOUR fleet should work to be mandated EVERYWHERE on EVERYBODY. There is nothing stopping your fleet from kicking non-contributing players.

Aren't part of the projects we contribute to are in fact building parts of the base? So I contribute and build it while others sit on their thumbs. If they pay their dues all stores are open to them, what's wrong with that? Its not like 1000 Dil a day is a lot, one estf and you damn near have it. 1000ecs, I can get that replicating junk from my inventory. This way everyone is free to play without having to grind for anything.

Since you are the "ruggest biker indivudualist" rather than propose to force some union dues systems on all fleets because yours doesn't do things you would want them to do... why don't you just leave your fleet, find at least 4 other people who think like you, and then start your own fleet.

I've noticed a lot of this as well. People want the rewards, without the work, especially when they join a higher tier fleet. They just want the best stuff, and feel that they don't need to donate more than is required to buy it.

Even with such a 'low fee', I bet the howls would be loud and long, because people wouldn't want to pay anything, and they would cry and cry and cry.

    A different idea to propose:

Unlock rewards per character (which would not affect the fleet in any negative way I might add), that are immediately given as certain amounts of things are donated.

    For example:

If you donate 1,000 FCs worth of anything, you get a random Operational Asset to use

If you've donated 10,000 dil, you get a one-time bonus of either ECs or FCs

If you've donated 1,000 FMs, you get a choice of a free provision (which would NOT, I repeat, would NOT take any provisions from the fleet itself) of one item from the Starbase.

If you've donated 1,000,000 FCs, you get 4 (account-bound) Fleet ship modules.

there could be other rewards though as well. Like titles, maybe ship new materials or skins. Maybe add choices for most levels: Like one choice to more help out the fleet, or another choice more for yourself.

i love your idea for my fleet i think it would work great as the leader of tow 1 (tides of war ) we have 4 fleets as of now and i lead tow 1 and think this would be such a great idea

My fleet recently made a reserve fleet to accommodate new players after the launch of LoR. We have quite a few players but very few contribute to the fleet projects. This is unfair to those of us who grind everyday to meet the requirements of the projects. The fleet stores are not enough incentive to get folks to pony up their share.

To get everyone to contribute I think folks who join a fleet should have to pay dues in EC and dil, just like you pay to be in a union. A fair fleet dues would be 500 - 1000 dil and 100 -500 EC from each fleet member. I know someone will cry about this but 1 ESTF and replicating a few items and you have your dues so its not breaking any ones wallet. In fact you could probably double those amounts and still not clean anyone out. Maybe there could be a min and max the fleet leaders could set.

Dilithium is the main resource that is hard to acquire, the amount you have to have for fleet projects and rep stuff is way out of proportion to what a person can get in game. The mining mission has ridiculously low rewards for dil. And why the hell am I "The Capt of my ship" out hopping from rock to rock mining dil? I have a rather large crew why aren't they out doing the dirty work? I have to oversee the whole ship plus mine dil? WTH! I guess I'll be cleaning the Jeffries tubes next. Stand back Warp Core Apprentice! I your Capt will clean those filthy tubes! I just hope I can find some dil in there while I'm dusting.

I'm hoping the Dilithium Mine will help offset some of the grind. If not then they need to up all the rewards for dil.

    Oh great. Another Detroit.

If you try to tax your fleet members, your fleet will empty faster than a pool with a TRIBBLE in it.

    Necropost (nee-kro-post)

    1. (noun) A post which revives an inactive ("dead") conversation on a message board. It generally attracts others who attempt to kill it by fire.

    2. (verb) The act of creating a necropost. DON'T DO IT!

    Synonyms: Spamming

Please remember to check the dates of threads; and if you find an old thread which violates the PWE Community Rules and Policies or has been inactive for over 30 days before someone replied to it just report it and avoid posting in it.

Please bear in mind that re-posting in "necro'd" threads is considered a form of spamming.

Note that you're more than welcome to post in an existing active topic or to start a new thread on the topic if there are no active topics already.
