Could the Federation get the Romulan Federation 2 wrist attachment?

assimilatedktarassimilatedktar Member Posts: 1,708 Arc User
Okay, first of all no offense to our friends from the KDF, I simply haven't played a KDF-aligned Romulan so far, still trying to figure out which ship he should get), otherwise I would have tried to include a parallel proposal if possible.

There is something that has bothered me for a long time when playing STO. It's a minor annoyance, but with LoR Cryptic almost delivered a fix. Lots of our powers make us type on our left forearm and have holographic displays pop up over it. Now that looks completely ridiculous if you are wearing a cloth uniform. Kit graphics in the lower tiers can help a bit, but later they become ridiculously huge (and let's not talk about armors). The Romulan Federation 2 wrist attachment however is perfect, and since Romulans already share the body types with the Federation and it doesn't really look Romulan it could be relatively easy to add it to the Federation uniform parts.

No kidding. I made an Alien-Romulan faction character on the test server and allied with KDF during the LoR beta testing. There was only 1 glove I could see: Klingon 02. It begs the question "What happened to Klingon 01 gloves". It also breaks the logic that gloves labeled as KLINGON are not available for KDF characters, especially Klingons. I've been wanting Klingon fingerless gloves for a long time and they finally add them to the game but they aren't available for Klingons at all.

Edit: To be honest I never checked all top options to see if there were a second set of Klingon gloves. I think my character is still on Tribble server so I can check it out.

Doesn't have anything to do with the holographic pop-up issue, but I'm all for it.:)

Actually, by the 25th century, all clothing has minuscule computers and holographic projectors sewn into the fabric. ...It's how Starfleet officers manage to still look good in shapeless pajamas.

Now, those Leela-signature wrist things Roms have? ...They have computers that make Watson look like a neanderthal. They have a saw, pliers, a knife, and bagel toaster. (as well as a cheap, plastic toothpick... used to fend off overly persistent Ferengi.) They also have a mini flat iron, and blow dryer. (how do you think Roms keep their bangs soooo perfect?)
...And they play Tetris. (of course)

And the Feds can have them too! ...Provided. Seven of Nine outfits for both Roms and KDF. (like they're Fed standard issue anyway...) ..AND, the KDF gets their gloves. ;)

LOL!:) I no exactly what your talking about. One of my favorite things about STO is the massive character creator or in game tailor.

And as for the left wrist attachment for the Romulan Federation allied, I love it!
Im an Engineer so a few of my powers look like they come from the wrist attachment and looks the wrist attachment actually has function. And when I beam up or transport my Rom toon types on his wrist, it just always looks cool.

If i could put it on my Fed toon i would!

I have a better idea: Give some type of wrist computer as a starter costume piece for both Romulans and KDF. After all, we're the ones with the *beep boop beep* transporter animation, and usually typing on featureless leather or metal.

Yep, in my opinion it's one of the best things Cryptic did with LoR, now they just have to spread the love.

Is there a special reason why you think that Feds using frequency remodulators, motion accelerator and a bunch of other things should be excluded? I get that the KDF could use something like that too, that's why I wrote it in the original post that other people should make proposals for them since I didn't know if the KDF-Romulans got something similar. For the Feds the wrist attachment is basically ready for use. It has a Federation-looking design and the Romulans and Feds share all body types, Cryptic would just have to copy it over. I would love to get a Klingon-looking equivalent.

Nope, not saying that. I suppose I could have chosen my words better.

Yeah no the KDF-Romulans don't which is perplexing to be honest.

I don't have a problem with giving all factions something similar, but they shouldn't get the same one.

Also, when they revamp kits those are supposed to get added to the tailor, so that should open up more option. That might happen as soon as season 9 later this year.

Don't worry; if it's fun, unique and/or worthwhile, it's inevitable the Feds will get it.

If it did become available to the Federation, it would probably cost Zen in the Z store:eek:

Well, I would completely happy if Federation and allied Romulans share one, KDF and allied Romulans another and all would get access to the civilian wrist computer some NPCs have.

Yeah, might, possibly, under certain circumstances. And to be honest, the kit parts all don't look as good.

All of my characters are involved with Intelligence. I should be able to wear any uniform from any faction, including NPC uniforms.

Canon has established that masquerading as someone else, not only with uniforms, but even with cosmetic surgery, has been done for purposes of espionage: Kirk disguised as a Romulan in "The Enterprise Incident," an Orion disguised as an Andorian in "Journey to Babel," Troi disguised as a Romulan in "Face of the Enemy," "T'Pel" was a Romulan deep cover operative posing as a Vulcan ambassador, and the list goes on.

Indeed, the bio for my Orion and and the bio for my Vulcan reference each other, claiming that one of them is the other in disguise, but leaves the question open as to which one is the imposter. My Romulan's bio has no such admission, although it notes that she is an agent of the New Romulan Republic's Military Intelligence, but note the names: G'dessa T'Prell (my Vulcan), Gessa G'ian "the Succuba" (my Orion), and Gessatra ir'Virinat t'Prell (my Romulan).

Canon has also established the use of enemy vessels for purposes of espionage.

If your in a decent fleet, you can get fingerless gauntlets from the fleet clothing store. I got a Bortasqu Outfit, and the gauntlets you get with that are actually combined with fingerless gloves. :)
