Considering Cryptic/pwe like raking in their money,I find it very unfair that we can't buy the carrier attack ships unless we buy the attack ship to fly.
I think if this stupid silly rule was scrapped,i bet players would happily spend,to get this.
Think about it,more players buying the carrier attack ships, the more cryptic/pwe get the money rolling in.
Not everyone will agree with me but what the heck, this is currently an unfair unjust rule.

Cheaper items and cheaper projects = More fun and enjoyment.
Expensive items and everything so slow = No fun at all.
I disagree. For me the endgame is getting space rich. I've unlocked several JemHadar ships and have more in my bank.
Much like in RL I'm happy that being a person of means ensure I get the best toys. Quite fair, IMO as I put more money and energy into this game than you do.

...Pay to win what? This game doesn't have a PVP focus, so the most likely use of any ships purchased is going to be in PVE content.
So what are you 'winning' by paying more money, exactly?
And given that the complaint is "why won't you let me buy this extra thing without having this other extra thing", the exact nature of the complaint is that the OP can't just pay to have what they want

As far as I know, the attack ships were never purchasable unless you owned a JHAS, much like the Spiral Disruptors with Galor ships.
There are JHAS on the Exchange, nothing is stopping you from buying one. I argued that tying the pets to the JHAS was stupid from the viewpoint that it crippled the Dreadnaught, which was and is subpar in all aspects, but the Very Rare hanger items you can get through Reputation or Fleet work somewhat makes up for it.
On further reflection, I'd really prefer it if 'pets' were a KDF thing and 'fighters' were a Federation thing, to give each side some unique flavor.

I've put hardly any effort into this game and and only money was picking up clearance retail boxes for game time.
And yet, not only do I have JHAS pets but I have another JHAS in the box up for sale. This game is not pay to win, you can't buy a JHAS from the zen store. And you are an idiot if you open lockboxes hoping for a ship.
To the op:
...Try not being so bad at internet spaceships. Stop complaining about the space rich and bootstrap yourself up.
Some things need to be rarer than other. If every single player could just have eery single item by going through the C-Store then the chase of a rare item is lost and the game becomes dull.
I honestly think they should introduce more ultra rare things but have them distributed in varying methods, some as random space drops, ownership condition on possession of another item, etc.

I don't agree. If someone thinks it is fun trying to get great very rare gear and so on then you must be a boring person. The game can have some rare things but some things are just to rare.
PvP has the most potential for having fun in the game but it is being damage by all this very rare and hard to get stuff. I rarely PvP because I don't like entering it only to see the other side with multiple Jem'Hadar Attack ships and other very rare stuff allowing them to dominate my random team.
PvP needs to be improved and part of it is making some thing be easier to get or making more PvP public queues games that limits the gear that is used for example have a PvP game that only allows non C-Store ships and only common white gear. Add that and I would PvP a lot more because it would be much much more balanced and skill would play a bigger part and more people would play it because even a casual player can be more competitive.

I understand your point of view but don't see it happening. These games, like real life, tend to have things that are exclusive and available for limited times or at great expense. Like cars. Not everyone has an Aston Martin and nor will everyone have the opportunity to get one. Those that have it or can get it, well, that can be a matter of pride.
As for hunting for things making a person being boring, I completely disagree. The beauty of a game like this is that different aspects appeal to different people. Some people RP. If you don't RP that doesn't make them boring. Some people PvP exclusively. If you don't then that doesn't make them boring. Etc, etc, etc.

I understand why game have limited edition and hard to get items but when you do that a lot it puts off a lot of people that play the game. Their are games I have played that have had a lot of limited edition items and I quit it because it was just to much and I know a lot of other people who have done the same thing with other games.
Limited edition stuff popping up in games should be rare in itself. If you add a bunch of limited edition and hard to get stuff especially when it gives people who have it a big advantage over those that don't your IMO ruining a lot of aspects of the game. PvP in this game is a example of that.
Well IMO someone who thinks it is fun trying to get rare gear is boring just like I think someone who likes to drink a lot getting drunk all the time is a boring person. I just cant understand how something like either of those things are fun but I guess fun is a matter of opinion.
If you want a Jem'Hadar Attack Ship or the hangar item for your Jem'Hadar Dreadnaught I can certainly imagine how frustrating it would be to not get one - they are one of the nicest escorts (if not THE nicest escort) in STO.
A zen store purchase has been ruled out. Apparently that is a directive from CBS so PWE isn't going to TRIBBLE with them over that.
At the end of the day there has to be some content which is extremely rare or else every laughing Vulcan and his dog (top marks to anyone that can remember the episode, lol) would have it. I agree, when I first saw the announcement of the Dominion lock box I thought they would have had the JHAS in it as an alternative high end reward for the Dreadnaught. But this wasn't the case which made the system of need a Bug for the pets silly.
Considering how hard the darn things are to get, I know as I bought one off the exchange for 220 million, this requirement for the pets isn't right.
Some say it's limited and rare and all that stuff about PWE making money, but really all it does is drive people away from the game as they see how impossible it is to get the cool toys. I have totally gone off getting lock box ships. I have a JHAS, D'kora and Galor and I am happy with that. All bought off the exchange too.
I'd rather spend only 2000 Zen and buy a fleet ship (still dislike that option too, but prefer it over the lock/lotto system) rather than spent anywhere from 2000+ in Zen and still not get the ship. I only open the boxes now when I have excess dilithium (rare, very rare) and want a uniform or something in the Lobi store.
So the pet situation is stupid as apart from the expense and rarity the Bug and Dreadnaught are two totally different ships and you need to skill your character differently to use them at their peak. A reason why the skill tree should be per ship not character.
Support the Game by Supporting the KDF, equality and uniqueness for all factions!

This was my hot button with Cryptic a few months back, I've looked past it but it was and is a very greedy move and should never have been done.

Whilst a big ship is an awesome weapon (I love mine), you don't need one to PvP. Any ship can PvP with the correct build. Granted, escorts seem to do better (owing to their status as PWE/Cryptic's favoured love children) but if I can make a PvP viable Galaxy class then you can live without your bug ship.
As for finding people who hunt for rare things to be boring, well, I find people who complain about not having things without actually taking steps to get what they want to be quite droll. The ships are still out there on the exchange. They're available for everyone. Instead of complaining you could spend the time trying to get one. If you complain that it's too hard or the EC cost is too high then you mustn't really want one that badly.
Why do you hate PvP so much that you hate it with the fiery passion of a thousand suns?
Because I hate having my fun dictated by my ability to dominate another person who's also trying to have fun. I hate having my fun be dictated by trying to find the perfect combination of skills and items that will allow me to be able to dominate another person.
I don't like sports, either, for the exact same reason. I also tend to dislike CCGs, again, for much the same reason. I'm here for the story, not for the competition. I don't care who's better, I care how the battle came to be. I don't care who's more skilled, I want to know what's at stake. And, quite frankly, other people often suck. I don't want to have to interact with them if I don't have to. I don't like FPS games for much the same reason.
It's not fun to me. The competition against other people isn't fun. I want a known quantity of difficulty, so I can find various ways around a known obstacle, and when I fail, I want it to be the same obstacle so that I can figure out how to get around it. I don't want to have to lose constantly until I figure out a build that lets me beat at least some of them. I want to be able to have various play styles and decide which one to use against the obstacle.
Like I said. I hate PVP with the fiery passion of a thousand suns, and find it completely unappealing.

No you don't need one but imagine a PvP with 1 team having nothing but Bug Ships and they are being flown by people who know what they are doing. The other team also knows what they are doing but they are flying regular ships. Who will win most of the time?
I have actually played a PvP that the other side had nothing but Bug ships and the team I was on with regular ships and well it did not turn out well. We tried but we just had no chance despite a valiant attempt.
Yes they are but again I am thinking about casual players they are almost impossible to get. A casual player wont play enough to get one from the exchange and wont spend enough money to get one. The only way they will get one is if they decide to buy a couple of keys after converting some Dilithum to zen and get extremely lucky.
Their needs to be some PvP games that allows casual players to be competitive. With the way PvP is now casual players are going to see PvP and ignore it and PvP is getting worse and worse over time for casual players.
It is stupid to link the Carrier pet with the actual JHAS and only morons would think that this a good idea. It is just plain greed in an obnoxious manner.
I have a JHDC but I'd rather drive a knitting needle through my eye than reward Cryptic for sheer idiocy and greed. Luckily, some of the other less obnoxious to acquire hangar pets are pretty decent.
I think Cryptic is on a winner, you guys should make the Spiral Waves Galor only but don't put them on a Galor, make them only available if you have the Wells and then you still have to pay the 45k dil or whatever it is you charge.
This is what your consumers want, more obnoxious ideas.

If you're not in a fleet then you should look at joining one. I never PvPed until I joined one and now I do it almost exclusively. In my fleet I learned sound tactics and how to work as a team. I used to hate going up against a JHAS but I've learned how to survive them or cripple them for my team-mates to deal with. Point is they can be dealt with if you have the knowledge and a good team. (If you PUG, well, you have have to take the good players with the bad.)

I linked my JHAS and JHDC to the same toon and I found that the adjustments I had to make to my toon's stats were so very minimal that it didn't noticeably impinge on the performance of either ship. I mean reducing Weapon Performance from 9 to 8 results in a 0.5 drop in actual weapon subsystem power but an increase 54 in Flow Capacitors. Such tiny variations won't make you lose in a PvP match.
As a matter fact I tend to spec my toons in such a way that they can fly multiple ships without any noticeable drop in performance. I currently have 9 toons, each with 3 PvP capable ships. Granted I'm not a PvP master (nor will I ever be owing to my stubborn refusal to abandon builds that are not as effective as they are fun to play) but I hold my own and generally kill more than I die. I play for fun, not for min/maxing.
Wow, that's a very intense dislike!! Thankfully this game appears to have something for most everyone.
.
Yeah, absolutely! Like I said, I got a lifetime subscription, and heck, I write abo the game pretty constantly for Geekparty. Even when I was still doing FTP, I gladly slapped down 20 bucks so I could get the Tac Retro. Why?
Because I wanted to blow up borg with the mother ****in' Defiant, that's why. And no, the Tac Escort would not cut it, because it didn't have a cloaking device, so obviously it wasn't the Defiant.
I love the game. I hate the gameplay intensely, but I absolutely love the game :P

Wow, that's a very intense dislike!! Thankfully this game appears to have something for most everyone.
I play for fun, not for min/maxing.
also if the jem'hadar fighters weren't horrible lol.
