They're still rolling out the update, I imagine, I haven't seen any of the other PWE forums changed nor have heard word lately that the change is being rolled out to another title in the near future, let alone STO....which is supposed to be last in the rotation by request.

I sure hope they have this changed over before S8 shows up.
Imagine the mayhem of dealing with S8 issues AND trying to figure out the new forums.

And for the record, I do like the Neverwinter forum setup.

Well I would assume they would have it out before the next season update which is like Nov or something IIRC :P

would like to know if there will be an upgrade to the site to include a one button link to posts that we personally made, ie replies we've posted to threads and threads we ourselves have created. I've not found a way to easily go back to posts that I've done and the search function while it has alot of features doesn't really give the ease of use that most forums have by default.

Any chance that the new forum system will be capable of handling animated avatars/signatures?

This forum can handle animated signatures, but they are set to off for bandwidth and loadtime. I don't believe this will change with the new version of the forums.

    P.S. Still no updated ETA.

    Bran,
Any chance the page jumps for searches can be fixed? Takes 4-5 times to actually get it to go to the right page of the search. Most of the time it just drops you back to page 1.

Also, the "login window dancing down the screen" problem is really annoying with mobile devices. Any chance that can be disabled?

Branflakes, whatever you do, DO NOT let us inherit the Dev Tracker that Neverwinter forums uses! It is horrible!

I echo this sentiment. The current Dev Tracker is fine as is.

Just wish we'd see the results of this forum upgrade soon. It's been almost 6 months since first announced.

I would like to know why it is okay for me to pay you $15 a month to be a gold member but not okay for me to create a thread. Seriously?

As this is your first visit to the new forums, it considers you new :) Your join date shows Apr 2013. The "can't start a new thread until after a specified amount of time" is in place to stop spam bots -- since we've put it in place, there has been virtually no spam. We're happy to remove this for you as you're clearly not a spam bot (and I just have -- log out and back in). Anyone else that's in this boat can send me a forum PM and I can manually remove the restriction.

    Thanks for understanding!

    Cheers,

Speaking of forum visits, I was banned from 22:40 CET until today, with the PW website insisting that I had had too many failed logins. How is this possible, when I'm TECHNICALLY bypassing the login by opening the browser in my subscriptions folder?

P.S. Whoever's going to be working on the ticket I opened during that period doesn't have to bother, it's obviously fixed by now. :)

Infinite possibilities have implications that could not be completely understood if you turned this entire universe into a giant supercomputer.p3OEBPD6HU3QI.jpg

You should allow free players to be able to post to your forums as well. I have a legitamite gripe. I sent a request from Support in game about a quest I have been trying to do for 3 days now and can't seem to complete because there is no system which i have to help in the area that the quest says. I send a support ticket in throught the STO game and got a response but I can't access the response because when I go to https://support.perfectworld.com/ it will not keep me logged in and when I hit login, it takes me to a page where I get a 404 error.

I am a player but I refuse to pay for anything in game unless the game is done with testing and is open to the public. I have been svrewed over many times before when I payed for something in game while it was in beta only to have them wipe the characters before opening it to the public.... even though they said they weren't going to, just like you have said.

So the game is in Beta testing and you are not allowing the free players who play to use your forums.....

EVEN THOUGH WE COULD HELP BRING BUGS TO YOUR EYES......

What a stupid way to have a forums for..... You should not restrict access to the forum based on a player's ability to pay. But then this is run by PWI.... and we all know how they love to TRIBBLE over everyone......

USMC47, first the game has been out since 2010. Second, BranFlakes stated that the restriction is in place to stop spam bots. If they removed that, spam bots would be in here spamming anything and everything from hand soap, viagra, to gold selling spammers.

Second, Cryptic has no control over the customer support, PWE is running that, that is why you wait 3 days + to get into contact with support. Support for the game is autrocious.

This game is not in beta, ask people in the game in /zone to help you out, they are by far more knowledgeable than the GM's in this game apparently, and way more helpful than the support PWE provides.

Cryptic itself cannot control the PWE login, that's all ran by PWE. Don't blame the game company because of the distribution companies apparent lack of any kind of support to the games they distribute. PWE is a Chinese based company, while Cryptic is an American based company.

The Forum could use a "Mark Forum Read" button, several vBulletin forums have this.

Browsing the dev tracker beyond a page or two is so ****ing stupid. It keeps redirecting back to page 1 over and over over and over over and over over and over over and over over and over over and over....

Yeah, it's annoying. I have a theory about that though. If you look, whenever you click the dev tracker, or refresh, it gives you a url: sto-forum.perfectworld.com/search.php?searchid=64206371. When you click the link to page 2, that "searchid" number changes, unless you get it fast enough. So my thinking is that every time anyone clicks the dev tracker, it generates a new search, and you have to hit page 2 before anyone else happens to look at the dev tracker and generate a new number.

The numbers have been going up for quite a while, and even if you bookmark a dev tracker search with an old number or with the page 2 stuff added (sto-forum.perfectworld.com/search.php?searchid=64206521&pp=25&page=2) it generates a new number. I mean, obviously I don't really know anything about how or why it works, but it seems to me that the fact that the forums generate that new number has something to do with the fact that we can't get to page 2. My autofill fills in sto-forum.perfectworld.com/search.php?searchid=57488411, but that last number is changed every time to something else.

This forum is very slow in the past. I think, it needs more ressources. by the way:

Maybe you can upgrade the version of the forum too. This is an old version of vBulletin. Also a thanls-button, a resolved-button, a report-button and Tapatalk are nice features.

unfortunately., these are PWE's forums, not cryptics forums so cryptic cant cahnge the formatting, as its the same for all PWE game forums. back before PWE bought Cryptic the forums were a lot better.

Oh please don't say some of the game bugs have cross contaminated to here.....

Yes, it's from 2012. And it mentions Neverwinter already using a newer version, which they want to implement here as well. No ETA yet (as a fairly recent 2013 post in that thread says), but an upgrade is in the works.

I'd say 'nuff said, going by the OP. Performance issues earlier aside, of course...
