I'd like to see the Freedom and Challenger classes someday. It's not that I particularly like them, but there's nothing wrong with the single nacelle and over-and-under configurations that they represent. I've seen nice fan designs for both, so I'm sure Cryptic could come up with some too.

Why anyone would like the appearance of the fugly New Orleans is beyond me.

When you put it that way, it does look somewhat putrid.

To be honest, from a canon point of view, I have a difficult time accepting that Starfleet would have left the frankenstein fleet that way.

New primary hulls bolted to older secondary hulls? Since they were only put together this way as a wartime "need ships and need them fast" measure I'd rather beleive that, subsequent to to the Dominion war, Starfleet had the sense to detach the Intrepid class 'saucer' from the secondary hull it was bolted to, and attach it a proper Intrepid class hull.

However you view it, they were the response to an urgent need for ships during wartime. If you follow soft canon, we know that PROPER ships were designed subsequent to the Dominion war - the Luna class & Vesta class being two examples.
I just don't see them continuing to use ships that were thrown together from whatever was sitting around in either the junkyard or the UPFY and were intended to be absolutely nothing more than flying phaser-banks.

If you think about it, the explination of ship building in 2409 are not that much different. Sure, each of the ships are limited within their respective profile, but is not a Heavy Escort with an Armtage Saucer, Akira Pylons, and Zepher nacelles not also a "frankenstein's monster" as well? "Nessesity is the mother of invention", and some of the most ingenious uses of equipment and hardware come from the crucible of the battlefield.

The Odyssey isn't made of recycled parts. It was actually designed with its own original style and looks good all in one piece. The New Orleans has none of that.
If by "looks good all in one piece" you mean that it looks consistent, yes, it looks consistently ridiculous and terrible.

Beauty is truly in the eye of the beholder, dont be closed minded.

Ambassador is my fave classic cruiser btw so and some thinks its ugly lol

I'm not being closed minding. I agree on the looks, some will hate it. While some will love it. We all have views on that. Just like how some people look at sport cars. Some will love certain ones, while some will hate it.

That is what makes us all different.

i agree, that is how I view the Odyssey. The star drive to neck mounting area looks rather crappy. The nacelles and pylons that looks good. The saucer is a complete mess. It has 2 centers and looks lopsided. Where most saucers tend to be balanced with a 1 center line. Making a cleaner appearance. Not like trying to fall off the neck mounting area.

If they redesigned the neck, and saucer. It would make a good looking ship.

Back to my point at hand, can any of the Devs give us insight or status updates on when these Kitbash ships are comming, or what difficulties are being encountered in their rendering or implementation?

The Kitbash Ships will not be coming in-game. (At least the New Orleans anyway)...I mean HEAVEN FORBID if the Federation gets a ship that turns as well as a KDF one and has the weapons to boot! With the crying and complaining that would come shortly thereafter from our KDF brothers....nah, I don't see that happening.

That's why Gecko is not planning on adding the New Orleans.

Best chance might be for a Niagara, as the hull is so similar to an Ambassador, the Devs will probably just add that at some point, and make it another sad Cruiser (like we need another one of them!).

As much as I love all those ships, I want to see the New Orleans first. It's just one of those designs that's followed me since I saw the wreckage for the first time in Best of Both Worlds. I have the Okudagrams for it on my computer :P

the intrepid class was seen as floating wreckage in the aftermath, it was only seen for about a second as shelby was recalling ship names while watching the view screen.
    T6 Miranda Hero Ship FTW.
Been around since Dec 2010 on STO and bought LTS in Apr 2013 for STO.

I'd like to see these ships in game. Just cuz Im a Star Trek fan. No other reason.

The Old Constellation Class - Could be added in as a T3 cruiser or variant skin.
Springfield Class - Could also be added in as a T3 cruiser variant.
Norway Class - It was a fairly new class ship. Not sure why it never made it into the game. But it could be added as a future Federation Lock Box ship.
New Orleans Class - Could be added in as a T4 cruiser or variant skin.
The Maquis raider - Could be added to the Shuttle/ small vessel list. Maybe get its own hangar pet...
Type 9 Shuttle Craft from Voyager
The Type 11 Shuttle and the Venture Class Scout ship from Insurrection
The other 2 pods for the Nebula Class.

The Niagara, Yeager, and Shelley or Curry(its been called both) Classes not sure how they could be put in, but it would be nice to have them as options.

The Freedom Class. Even as a Star Trek fan, the thing is ugly... So I wouldn't care if it does or doesn't.

The Strider Class - I know its not canon and its from Legacy, but it would make for a nice TMP era skin for the Nova or T2 science vessel. I know it wont happen though just like the Proxima Class Refit from legacy either.

Another Non-Canon yet practially canon ship. The Akula Class seen here http://memory-beta.wikia.com/wiki/Akula_class_frigate
Could be added in as variant for the T1 ships or Miranda Classes. If they added this they could bring in the Challenger Class as a skin variant.

I'd also like to see them bring out a Dreadnought Carrier like the Jem'hadar Carrier, but a Federation version, one that you could use Defiant Class or Saber Class ship hanger pets. That would be awesome.
