Thank you Cryptic....NOT!!!!!!!

Cheers Cryptic, thanks to one of your mini patches, my laptop is now cactus!!!!
Went to log on on sunday, and had to download some tiny little 135MB or so patch, to easy I thought, went to play.....but no....froze on the cryptic logo screen and thats where it stayed.
Took me 10 minutes just to get the task manager up to shut the game down, and then a further 30 minutes to try and restart the damn thing!!!! But restart it would not....the dreaded BSOD appeared and that was the end of it. Tried a system recovery....but NO...some how your tiny little patch(or something in it) has managed to not only to eat something vital in windows itself, it has also managed to worm its way into the recovery partition on my HDD making any attempt to resurrect the damn thing impossible!!!!
So not only am I unable to play, I am now up for god knows how many $$$$$ to attempt to fix the bloody thing or purchase a suitable replacement!!!!

NOT HAPPY JAN!!!!!!( its an australian thing, if you don't get it):mad::mad::mad:

    Hello.

There may be a lot of reasons why that happened, one of them might be a total hardware failure. From what you described the situation, it appears that your hard drive got corrupt. There is no possible way the game could corrupt other data on your laptop, however, if there is a minor hardware failure to begin with, even the smallest thing can destroy it. In other words, it's a time bomb.

    I would like to ask you to post more information regarding this, such as;
    • Did you recently have any problems with your hard drive? For example, strange noises coming from it?
    • How exactly did you try to "restart" your laptop during those 30 minutes?
    • Did you get a chance to write down the error code which was displayed in the BSOD?
    • If you're still somehow able to start your laptop, try this:
Start > Control panel > System and security > Action center > Maintenance > View reliability history. You can check what error exactly forced your laptop to restart and more.
    • And lastly, what are your specs and how old is the laptop.

    In response.
No the laptop has been running fine, no odd sounds or glitches etc
Restarted via the start menu, but after waiting for the said 30 minutes for it to close whatever was preventing restart(and no programmes were listed) got the ****s and force restarted.
Would be nice, but no cannot get any life out of it, except the bios and acer start up screens, can and did get to windows factory restore, tried it but after 48 hours and some google research, resigned myself to the fact that that was not working either.
    Laptop is an Acer V3- 571G with i5 2.5 GHz, 4GB ddr3, 750GB hdd, windows 7, and nvidia geforce gt 630m 1GB

    Cheers :o

I'm also getting the BSOD during the attempted patch.
