RP and Romulan-fan mentality aside, the IRF is a fun bunch of folks to game with. With or without the Romulan Ale!
While there are departments with department heads, officers and staff, ranks and promotions and such, the underlying concept of the IRF is a fleet for Romulan fans to hang out and enjoy gaming along with all other things Romulan. The core leadership has evidently been together for a LONG time while sharing their love of everything Romulan. That's a plus in my book considering they, and I, have been waiting a LONG time to be able to play a Romulan character in STO.
To me, having finally become a member a couple of weeks ago, the IRF has this air of calm, relaxed, fun times while we all share our enjoyment of things Star Trek here in Star Trek Online.
TLDR - come play with us a while, enjoy some ale, enjoy some good times and help make your Romulan experience just a tad bit richer.

We have had heavy rp stories and threadnaughts in our forums on our website, many reasons for not doing much ingame was it just felt for many members awkward to rp as a romulan when were really an alien gen in fed or kdf uniforms...
Now that we do have the faction as a viable race to play...we plan to have some form of ingame rp in small amounts on the weekends mainly...and of course any members wishing to do it on their own or with other members they are free to do so...
Right now nothing is scheduled since were all just trying to get our characters to 50 so the initial grind is over and were more on a time wait grind for rep..
I have gotten to level 42 and have enjoyed most of it so far. I still wish that I could have been given the option of joining the empress also, along with the federation and the Klingons.
Fresh Ale? I want some of the ancient good stuff that's been sitting around in a warehouse somewhere aging exquisitely!
Sadly most of our greatest vintages were loss in the great garblesmable of Romulus....
luckily after allying with earth, I found a time machine built out of a delorean and went back in time to stop the destruction of Romulus...were now all ok and control the entire galaxy...easy fix huh...
