patchxfer.log is missing

This originally started happening only on tribble, and I could access holodeck without any problems. When I first started up the launcher, I began worrying that this would happen again and unfortunately I was right. Right as it begins switching to the second loading screen, the entire game crashes and when I check the crash data, it says that the patchxfer.log could not be located. I had contacted support and gotten a response (which was a refreshing change), and i did pretty much everything I was told to: force verify, waiting to try proxy at the moment, cleared my DNS cache, and checked my firewall, and the same thing happened. I redownloaded the game which brings me to my next question.
The first time I tried redownloading the game, it estimated that it would take something obscene like ten hours. I decided to take my lumps and just not play tribble again until I had the patience to deal with it, but when I downloaded it this time, it took all of ten seconds. Did I download the entire game, or just another launcher or something. The first Cryptic Studios file has a lot more in it than the one I just downloaded which leads me to believe that I didn't download everything, and the new launcher is just running off the broken files I'm trying to fix. Any help would be greatly appreciated, really want to play LoR!

    If anyone else has this problem, I solved it by restarting my computer, and putting it into safe mode with networking, not only was the patch a million times faster, it all went through and downloaded fine. so yeah

    Hmmmm, worth a try. Cryptic has been ignoring me for 6 weeks now, since the tribble patch that opened LoR for testing disabled my game.
